“Richard is a phenomenal pet sitter! Our two cats and pup took to him immediately. He is a great communicator and left our house better than he found it. Can't wait to work with him in the future!”

“Carrie was an amazing sitter. Attentive, communicative, and punctual. She went above and beyond to make sure my Bonnie was cared for the way I would take care of her. I will be rebooking with her for sure!”

“Ashley and my dog Molly are old pals by now. Molly loves hanging with her and is always well cared for. Ashley is super professional and gives regular updates, which I always appreciate.”

“Y’all. YALL. I’m just saying… Sky is FANTASTIC. Soooo personable, friendly, actually took our dog on a walk, and it’s evident that she really cares. Our dog, William, warmed up to Sky SO fast. I hope everyone can book her but I also hope that y’all don’t take my Saturdays ?”

“Nancy is the BEST!! My dog is old and has lots of issues. She is patient and the sweetest!!! She understands all his (and my) needs! Nancy is knowledgeable and extremely caring.”

“Alana was so thoughtful, responsive, and lovely. She came through for us last minute and took great care of our dog Fannie! Alana made sure to communicate when she had questions and happily handled Fannie’s (many) quirks.”

“Jourdan was wonderful with our 2 dogs. They are both large breeds and the German Shepherd is especially energetic but Jourdan was up to the task. She played with, took care of, and stayed overnight with them and kept the house looking just as good as we left it. She sent pics of our furbabies which helped since we missed them so much. We appreciate her and definitely recommend!!!”

“Emily was an amazing sitter for Lizzy. She was super responsive, left me tons of adorable pictures of Lizzy, and was very flexible and willing to work around my chaotic schedule. 10/10 would book with Emily again in the future.”

About: Hi! I have 10 years of experience taking care of cats and dogs! I currently do not have any pets but love having them over. Not only do I have plenty experience, but I am also insured in the event of an accident! Please don’t hesitate to contact me 💖 I work from home as an administrative assistant so my schedule is very open and I am able to give really good care and attention to your pet if they are staying at my place. In addition to this I can also work traveling to your lovely animal into my schedule with no problems! While I live in an apartment building there is a fenced off area for pets to use the bathroom and play and it is even separated by the size of dogs so that they can safely play and roam. Pets are allowed on my furniture and I take care of them as if they were my own.

“I had a great experience with this Warren and wouldn’t hesitate to book again. He took the time to ask thoughtful questions about Henry beforehand, which gave me confidence that he genuinely cared about providing the best care possible. While I was away, he was extremely communicative, sending regular updates and plenty of pictures. He was always very responsive whenever I reached out, and it was clear Henry was in great hands. I truly appreciate the care and attention he provided, and I look forward to using his services again!”

“Philip did an excellent job with our two dogs while we were away! He was super communicative and sent lots of updates and photos, which gave us a lot of peace of mind. Thank you again for your help!!”
“Stella had an extended stay with our pup and she was so wonderful at making sure our baby felt comfortable while we were gone. It was our first time being away so we were understandably anxious about how Philomena would do but Stella sent us loads of updates, photos and videos. Our pup had a wonderful staycation all thanks to her!!!”

About: I have been taking care of other people's strays and rescuing feral and street animals for several years. I can manage several animals simultaneously and accommodate all of their psychological and physical needs. I have provided care for Chinchillas, Ferrets, Rabbits, cats, and dogs. Dog walking was something I did for two years for my neighbors. I am currently a cat sitter, and provide drop-in visits. In the morning I will check on the needs of any animals ie food and water. I will play and walk with them for about an hour. I will have dogs with similar temperaments play with one another. After playing and walking I will make sure they eat and rest. Throughout the day I will provide activities and enrichment for the pets. At the end of the day i will walk dogs for another hour. I care for pets in my home based on their individualized needs. Certain cats are independent and would prefer not to be touched. I will foster a positive relationship with the pet slowly, and individualize their affection based on their personalities and needs.
“Dan was a life saver for watching my boys on relatively short notice when my friend cancelled. I'm always hesitant to have new people watch my pups because they are a bit quirky. But Dan suggested a meet and great and everyone seemed comfortable, including me! This trip was unlike any before because I literally had no cell service and I wasn't able to access wifi but a few times while gone. When I did finally get access, I caught up on plenty of pictures and updates on what was happening back home. This certainly put me at ease and I was able to enjoy being off the grid and know my boys were being exceptionally well taken of! Thank you Dan, I think Mannie and Jeter have found their new buddy while I'm away...”
“Margo was such a good sitter. She came and met my pup the day before since they hadn’t met before. Took the time to ask all the questions on his habits, schedule, and medications. Even though I needed her pretty early in the morning she had no problems with being on time. The videos and pics throughout the day was a very nice touch.”

About: I have never not had dogs in my life. I love each and every single one of them individually as no dog is the same. I have always been the go to for family members and family friends to take care of there doggies. I am very passionate about giving each dog the love they deserve. In high school I had a job where I took care of a whole kennel of dogs by myself for a stay and care club. It was my favorite job I have ever had truly. I just recently moved to Philadelphia from Colorado and I want to get back to doing what I am passionate about and this is it for me!! I am currently starting a job that I’m not to sure if I will like or not but I will be working 10am-6pm Tuesday through Saturday. I do have breaks so I can stop by for pups throughout my day and have full availability for Sunday and Monday! If I can start making a living taking care of dogs though I will move to it full time! I am very adaptable I can care for any pet in any situation. They will receive much much love and respect from me. I care for pets in the most passionate way possible I want every dog in the world to feel joy and to feel loved.

Sieanna did an incredible job taking care of my two senior beagles in my home this July for a week! She was very communicative and responsive and went above and beyond to make sure the girls were comfortable during the heat wave and had plenty of icy water :) she took excellent care of the dogs and our house looked better when we returned than when we left. I would absolutely use Sieanna again and recommend her highly!
We were planning dog care around the birth of our child and Natalie was a great person to work with. She provided us her availability and made it easy to plan an event that could happen any day. When the actual day came, Natalie was able to accommodate several walks short notice and then transitioned into house sitting when we were formally admitted to the hospital. Natalie provided thorough updates and kept our dog good company after our abrupt exit.

Highly recommend Alex! He took amazing care of our dog Jasper who had lots of specific needs being reactive to other dogs and recovering from ACL surgery. He is extremely communicative, responsible, and will take great for your pets. Can’t wait to have Alex watch Jasper again in the future!!

Couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful person to dog sit! Kara was super responsive, professional, and came over to meet us ahead of time to get to know my pup. My dog seemed happy as a clam hanging out with her for the weekend. Very grateful and will definitely book her again!!

Sierra was unbelievable! She was so lovely and kind to our family and especially our babies! She communicated throughout our whole stay, she sent pictures and videos to give us updates and asked questions to make sure she was giving proper care to our dog and cat. She loved them as if they were her own! I truly cannot say thank you enough for how wonderful she was! We will only be using her anytime we need pet care!

FAQs for House Sitting - Spruce Hill
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Spruce Hill on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 5,769 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Spruce Hill. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Spruce Hill walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Spruce Hill maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Spruce Hill choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
