“Shashank was patient, reliable, flexible and so sweet with our anxious pup! He took her on a lovely afternoon walk in our neighborhood and also shared adorable pictures. We will definitely book with him again!”

About: Starting local to Philadelphia. I have been taking care of other people's strays and rescuing feral and street animals for several years. I can manage several animals simultaneously and accommodate all of their psychological and physical needs. I have provided care for Chinchillas, Ferrets, Rabbits, cats, and dogs. Dog walking was something I did for two years for my neighbors. I am currently a cat sitter, and provide drop-in visits. In the morning I will check on the needs of any animals ie food and water. I will play and walk with them for about an hour. I will have dogs with similar temperaments play with one another. After playing and walking I will make sure they eat and rest. Throughout the day I will provide activities and enrichment for the pets. At the end of the day i will walk dogs for another hour. I care for pets in my home based on their individualized needs. Certain cats are independent and would prefer not to be touched. I will foster a positive relationship with the pet slowly, and individualize their affection based on their personalities and needs.

“Nicole was awesome. She made time to come over and meet Sly even though my request was put in so last minute. She was helpful and communicative and went the extra mile with my dog.”

“This was our first time using Rover and I think I picked a great dog lover. Tamikia was very responsive even with a last minute request. She also sent videos which helped ease my anxiety since we’ve never had anyone outside of family care for Lolo. I cannot wait to book again!”

“Liam is a great choice for pet-sitting and dog walking! Very conscientious and communicative person and executed our care plan with perfection. House and pets looked great upon our return. 10/10 would recommend! Thanks again, Liam!”

“Christopher might just be the best dog walker I’ve used. I have used him repeatedly due to his reliability and his willingness to do whatever I ask of him. He treats my dog as I’d hope anyone would and he makes sure he has all he needs. Christopher has constantly gone above and beyond to help out”
About: I’ve had cats my whole life but I love dogs just as much! I have years of pet care experience and I have volunteered at an animal rescue for several years. I’m currently a remote worker and student so my schedule is very flexible. I have a car and I am Willing to drive to you. I have experience with all sorts of animal needs. My resume includes a cat with diabetes, two elderly pugs with a variety of health issues, a grumpy rabbit, and many more. I have no problems caring for high need pets or low need pets!
“Richard is great with my dog Nugget (corgi). He always shows up on time. Nugget loves him and she gets so excited for her walks. He’s very mindful of her older age and making sure she is going slower, stopping she needed, etc. Nugget loves her walks and we are so grateful Richard is able to help us out with her care!”

About: Having grown up with dogs and cats (...and a couple birds and a hedgehog), and working in pet care/pet sitting on and off for about 12 years I've seen and known a lot of weird, wonderful, sweet, and silly pets. I think my attention to detail sets me apart. I want to know what keeps your fur babies calm & happy. I want to know what stresses them out so we can steer clear: whether it's the sound of skateboards or rolling suitcases, fellow wildlife, or even people. I'm ready to redirect your nearly perfect pet away from their favorite forbidden roadside snack. I also have experience administering medications. I look forward to working with you! I currently do pet care and pet sitting part time and some other gig work (varies from week to week) while I look for other full-time work. I aim to mimic your pets lifestyle when they're in my care to make things as comfortable as possible for them. We're gonna cuddle, we're gonna play!
“Matthew is awesome! He’s reliable, energetic, has such a positive outlook, and our greyhound, Guinness, LOVES his walks with him. He treats Guinness like he was one of his own pets. The notifications with pictures, videos, and maps of their walks are very helpful, giving me piece of mind that our best bud is being handled properly in our absence. Since this can be a source of anxiety for me during my “in-office” work days, I feel much better knowing that Matt will come through when we need him. Thanks, Matt. We really appreciate your help last week!”

About: Hi, my name is Sophia! I am based in University City and open to taking care of cats, dogs, and other small pets. I grew up with dogs (11-year-old labradoodle, 45 lbs, and 6-year-old goldendoodle, 55 lbs) and cats, worked with all types of farm animals, and currently have a cat of my own. I am a substitute teacher on summer break with open availability. After Labor Day, I will be available after school (4-9 PM) for drop-in visits and walks. I gained most of my animal knowledge working on a farm in Upstate NY during summers in college. There I worked with rabbits, ducks, chickens, donkeys, horses, sheep, goats, and even a cow. My dream is to have my own land where I can have lots of chickens and goats. After working on the farm, I realized I wanted a pet of my own, so I decided to get a cat. I adopted Babes in 2022, and it has been the best decision. I love having her by my side (she’s even laying in my lap as I write this). I adopted Babes when she was 2, and she is now 6 years old, and 11 pounds. She’s been with me through many life changes, and I am so excited to care for her for many years to come. After college, I moved back home and started taking care of people’s pets in an Independent Living facility. I worked for a couple for over a year, providing nightly walks for their dog Nori. Nori is a 60 pound, 4-year-old poodle, and retired service animal. Nori was anxious at first, but we quickly developed a very special bond and I still keep in touch with her owners. I also took care of another resident’s two cats (11 and 5 years old) for a few months until they were rehoused with the resident’s son. I am a substitute teacher on summer break with open availability. After Labor Day, I will be available after school (4-9 PM) for drop-in visits and walks on weekdays and open on weekends. I like to be a calm presence for pets. I let the animals come up to me and learn from them how the visit should go. Your pet’s comfort and safety is of utmost importance to me. I also prefer to consult with pet parents in-person before the first visit to meet their pets and learn their routines.

About: I have over five years of experience working in an animal hospital, where I cared for animals of all kinds through walking, feeding, monitoring, and providing daily support. Through this experience, I became highly comfortable and knowledgeable in caring for pets with specific needs, including administering medications, senior pet care, and grooming. I moved to Philadelphia two years ago to pursue graduate school and, unfortunately, cannot have pets in my shared apartment. I truly miss being around animals and would love the opportunity to give them the same care, attention, and affection I’ve always enjoyed providing. I am currently pursuing my Master’s at Drexel University, which gives me a great deal of flexibility in my day-to-day schedule. I spend a lot of time throughout University City and Center City and am very familiar with the area. I’m also very active and love long walks and runs, so if you have an energetic pup who enjoys getting outside, I’d be thrilled to have a running buddy. Unfortunately, I’m unable to host pets in my home at this time. However, I am more than happy to care for animals in the comfort of their own homes, where they feel most safe and relaxed. I’m also open to house sitting and longer-term care needs.
About: I’m currently a graduate student at Penn. Before moving to Philly, I volunteered at Charlotte Animal Control and have a lot of experience with all types of dogs! I’ve always been a dog lover - I grew up with two goldendoodles and rescued my own pup, Juju, in 2022 🥰 I’m a full time student, so I have plenty of free time to give your dogs some love! I only have class in the mornings so my afternoons and evenings are wide open. My rescue dog is very anxious so I’m very comfortable with taking care of nervous pups! I have experience with all types of dogs from my time volunteering at the city shelter!
“Ximena is a phenomenal person to work with. Prompt, friendly, thoughtful and my pup LOVES their walks!! It's been a real relief to know my pup is in great, reliable hands.”

“Michael is a reliable, professional, and caring dog walker who looks after my senior dog in a very thoughtful and responsible manner. He is easy to communicate with and lets me know how my dog is doing while they're together. I can't recommend Michael more highly! He makes the whole process easy and puts my mind at ease!”

About: I grew up with cats, dogs and lizards since i was born and i love animals of all kinds. I’ve been a trusted, patient pet sitter for animals of all ages for 14 years and counting! I have experience with shy animals as well as some who take medication. I have lots of availability on weekends. On week days i have availability mornings, evenings, and some friday afternoons. Feel free to reach out about any scheduling questions. I would love to schedule a meet and greet to learn about any expectations so i can best respect your space while caring for your pet.

Paulina has been so incredible helping us with Hank while we were away! She has been so responsive and sends us lots of updates and photos which we appreciate so much! It gives us such good peace of mind to know he is will taken care of. We highly recommend Paulina to anyone who needs assistance with their dogs/ animals!!

We have rebooked with Scott several times and will continue to do so as he has earned our trust with our pets and home. He is responsible, trustworthy, respectful, and reliable. He communicates if there are any issues that arise and has been flexible for us. He also obviously loves animals. So glad to have found him!

Matthew is a courteous and conscientious dog walker. He truly works to put the human and the dog at ease on his walks. My pup can be a handful but Matthew walks him with ease and sincerely spends time with him during their walks together. He’s at the top of my list of dog walkers.

Jay did such a great job taking care of my fur babies, Roscoe and Millie! 🐾❤️ The Rover cards were full of thoughtful details and, of course, the cutest pictures of my babies. It was so nice getting those updates and seeing how happy and well cared for they were. Jay also asked thoughtful questions that helped clarify instructions and made me feel confident that Roscoe and Millie were in great hands. I truly appreciate the care and attention Jay gave them. I’m definitely having Jay care for them again! Thank you so much! 🐶🐶💕

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
