About: I'm currently a grad student with a flexible schedule, and honestly, time outdoors with a dog is my favorite way to recharge and get away from the screen. A good walk or an afternoon of play doesn't feel like a chore to me — it's the part of my day I look forward to. That means your dog gets someone with the energy and genuine enthusiasm to keep up with them, not just clock in and out. I grew up with a golden retriever and was the one taking care of him solo whenever my parents traveled for work, so I've been the trusted "person in charge" since I was a kid. I offer dog walking, doggy day care, and drop-in visits & house sitting, and I'm comfortable with everyone from high-energy pups to laid-back loungers. Whether your dog needs a good walk, some company, or a full day of play, I'll treat them like my own. Can't wait to meet you both! As a grad student with a flexible, largely home-based schedule, I can give your pet real attention and keep to their routine. Through the summer I'm generally free all day, every day, except Sunday mornings. Because I'm home and around for most of the day, I can stick to your pet's normal routine — feedings, walks, meds, and play at the times they're used to — and send you updates and photos so you always know how they're doing. If you have a specific schedule you'd like me to follow, just let me know and I'll build my day around it. Doggy day care: I'm in a comfortable 750 sq ft one-bedroom apartment with easy access to Rittenhouse Square, so your dog gets a cozy home base plus plenty of nearby green space for walks, play, and bathroom breaks throughout the day. They'll have my attention, a steady routine, and regular trips outside rather than being left to lounge alone. Dog drop-in visits: I like to be thorough so your dog's day feels exactly like it does when you're home. Before your first visit, I'll ask where to find the spare leash, poop bags, water, and treats, and I'll want to know your usual walking route and routine. The more detail you can share, the better — I'd genuinely rather have too many instructions than too few, so your pup gets the same care and rhythm they're used to. Cat drop-in visits: For cats, I pay close attention to the details that keep them comfortable while you're away. I'll ask where the litter box is, whether it needs refilling, and exactly how you'd like it cleaned, plus where to find food, water, and treats. I also like to know their favorite toy and how they usually like to play or spend their day, so I can match their normal routine rather than disrupt it. Clear instructions are always welcome — I'd rather follow your way of doing things to the letter.

Sarah was wonderful with my dog, Bruno. I was in a real bind during the big snowstorm and sent a last-minute request, and she didn’t hesitate to step in despite the uncertainty with the weather. Her communication was fantastic—quick, clear, and reassuring the whole time. Bruno was so really comfortable with her right away. I will definitely be booking with her again. 5 stars!

About: I am an experienced animal foster, and dog walker. My family being well-aware of my love of animals, I've been caring for and walking family members' dogs for years. My patience, kindness, and thoughtfulness will ensure that your dog will be in good hands. I am very flexible and trustworthy. I will ensure to honor any special requests and needs that your pet needs. I am experienced with administering oral and topical medication, and pay close attention to any special diet that needs to be followed. I will also strive to earn your trust, since I understand that it can be difficult to leave your beloved pet in the hands of someone that is not yourself. Furthermore, I love getting and giving attention from dogs and cats alike! I work in office Monday-Friday, however my office is only a few blocks away and I am able to come back during lunchtime to spend time with your pup! I live in an apartment building with an elevator in case of mobility issues. There are no other pets or children in the apartment. I can crate your pet if necessary. If boarding in your home, I will respect and treat your home with care. I will keep in contact and provide updates of your pet.

About: Hi! I’ve always loved animals, starting with my childhood dog, who was a huge part of my life growing up. As a current grad student, I have some extra time and am looking to make some new furry friends! More recently, I’ve helped care for a new puppy, so I’m comfortable with both the patience older dogs need and the energy (and chaos!) that comes with younger ones. I truly enjoy spending time with dogs of all shapes, sizes, and ages. I’m always happy to go on long walks, and as a former college runner, I can easily keep up with higher-energy dogs. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone, and I take that seriously. Everyone that knows me knows how much I love dogs and I am excited to bring that passion to helping your dogs stay happy and safe while you are away. Looking forward to meeting you and your pup! I’m currently a graduate student at University of Pennsylvania, which gives me a flexible schedule. I’m regularly available on weekends, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and most Wednesdays, with additional availability at other times during the week. For walks, your dog’s safety and comfort will be my top priorities. I will make sure each walk follows your dog’s usual routine, including preferred routes, pace, and any specific instructions you provide. I will stay attentive to my surroundings at all times and will keep dogs securely leashed unless otherwise instructed. I will avoid unsafe situations (like extreme weather, crowded areas, or unfamiliar dogs if needed) and will always prioritize your dog’s well-being. I will happily accommodate any special needs, whether that’s extra patience with a nervous dog, reinforcing training, or adjusting activity levels for puppies or senior dogs. I will also make sure your home is left exactly as I found it. You can expect clear communication and updates after each walk so you know your dog is happy and in good hands.

About: I have had dogs my whole life, and have consistently dog sat for the last few years. I would love to share the love and help take care of your dog❤️ I've had small, medium, and big dogs in my life. I've taken care of dogs with special needs and medications as well. I welcome any and all! I am currently a law student so twice a day m-f I have to attend class but can come home in between. I am available most weekends and weeknights and live in an apartment with a dog park on the roof! I have a small and extremely friendly bulldog who is used to having an array of different dogs around from pet sitting. I live in the city so I don't have a yard, but I am very close to Rittenhouse Square and my apartment has its own dog play area.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Rittenhouse. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Rittenhouse. On Rover:

  • 90% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
