“Areana is one of the best! She always takes her time with our dog Rina and makes sure that she’s comfortable on her walks. 10/10 would definitely recommend her to take care of your pets.”

About: I am a full-time cat sitter, so I can easily accommodate your cat’s schedule. I’m available most days for playtime, feeding, and cuddles :) From one cat owner to another, I take this role and its responsibilities very seriously. I prioritize your cat’s well-being while respecting the space and privacy. I follow instructions closely, ensuring feeding, exercise, and medication needs are met. I maintain cleanliness and tidiness, and will write notes/updates for you throughout📝 I'll make sure your cat feels right at home while you're away. You can rest easy knowing they're in good hands with me!
“I cannot recommend Ana enough! Not only was i able to book her and do a meet and greet in a pinch but she is so attentive and made sure my dogs felt completely comfortable with her right away. I really appreciate how communicative she is—she let me know if they had any bathroom issues or behavior quirks. It gives me so much peace of mind knowing they are in such great hands!"”

“Amanda was great! Walked my little chihuahua whippet mix dog 2X’s daily for 5 days. She was on time and walked him for full 30 minutes. She sent pictures of their walk showing his walk throughout the neighborhood. She jogged with him for a portion of each walk to give him a good workout. My dog was so happy to see her each time she arrived. I highly recommend her!”

“Michael is professional, flexible, and great with my dog. I’m really happy with how great of a job he’s done with my dog, who is a high energy and very active pup.”

About: Hi, I’m Cynthia! I am experienced pet parent and have had my dog, a super friendly couch potato Bassett Lab mix named Tucker, for over a decade now. I grew up with cats and frequently pet sit for friends and neighbors by doing drop in visits and walks. I have experience with both small and large dogs, and love to get my steps in with walks! We take our dog out for a 30 minute walk every morning, as well as shorter walks and play throughout the day as my husband and I both have flexible hours and work from home. The care and safety of your pet is of the utmost importance to me and I’d treat all of them as if they were my own. Thanks for considering me for your furry family member, and I look forward to meeting them! I’m recently laid off from my long time job as a project manager and have unlimited time to make your pet’s life the best it can be :) I have trained my dog from puppy school through to puppy college aka therapy dog school and am well attuned to the needs of a dog in training. I’m comfortable following any guidelines you set out, and strive to leave any place better than I found it.
About: I grew up with multiple dogs and so have had experience since youth walking, feeding, and caring for them. In my adult life I have co-owned one dog for around 6 years and worked to house-train him and correct some behavior issues via positive reinforcement. I have also owned multiple cats over the past 16 years including raising one from kittenhood to adulthood. For the past 2.5 years I have been volunteering regularly with the in-house dogs at the PAWS (Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society) Gray's Ferry clinic. My responsibilities include giving the dogs ample enrichment time outside by playing with them and positively reinforcing good behaviors, as well as feeding and cleaning up after them. I have worked there with all different dog sizes and age ranges, including puppies and seniors. I am available for check-ins mornings, mid afternoon, and evenings as well as overnight care as needed. I am not currently available for boarding dogs at my home. I do not accept sitting requests for unspayed/unneutered dogs. I currently do not own any dogs but I do own one high-anxiety cat whose behavior is being managed well with daily medications mixed in with his food. I'm very patient with both cats and dogs and am always ready to give them plenty of space to approach me and begin to feel comfortable with me in their own time. I am comfortable caring for dogs via feeding, walks, playtime, and medicating as needed. For cats I can provide feeding, litter box cleaning, playtime or just hanging out, and medicating as necessary. I have experience pilling cats if the cat's personality allows for this.
“I used Mason for dog walks and couldn’t be happier. He was professional, on time, and clearly knew how to handle dogs. My pup came home relaxed and well-exercised. Mason is the kind of walker you can trust right from the first booking — I’ll definitely reach out again next time I need help!”

“John has been so great walking our dog! He has been reliable and takes him on great walks, and our dog seems to really like him. He really took time to get to know him and we so appreciate that. Sometimes we also get really fun creative summaries of how Palmer did and what their walk was like- which is my favorite part! It’s so nice that he makes us feel included and up to date while we’re away from our dog.”

“Ayomide saved the day! Was ready and available on short notice. Professional, patient he followed directions and was able to complete the job. I will definitely use Ayomide again.”

“Anne is amazing! We are so grateful she was able to help us out last minute and our pup clearly loved her! Thank you so much for such clear communication and talking great care of our guy!”

“My Luna girl LOVED Makaylah and was comfortable with her from the get go- which doesn’t always happen as Luna has… big feels lol. Makaylah handled her well, gave her good exercise, and communicated well with me regarding walks (and her move 😔)Sad to see her move away, she is great!”

About: I’ve been around animals basically my entire life. I just moved here from Key West, where I was the Marketing and Events Coordinator for the Florida Keys SPCA. During that time I got deeply involved in fostering and rehabilitating animals to get them adoption-ready, so there isn’t much I haven’t seen. Cats are my biggest area of expertise, but I’m just as good with dogs. I currently live with four cats of my own: two seniors, one who’s terrified of everything, and one with a neurological condition called cerebellar hypoplasia. So if your pet has quirks, medical needs, or a personality, we’ll get along. In my free time, I’m exploring my new city, playing video games, and drawing. I will 100% draw your pet. I work from home with a flexible schedule, so pet care fits in easily. For overnight stays, I’d set up my work area at your place and hang out with your pets throughout the day. I’d just need to head back to my house once a day to check on my own animals. I’m a homebody by nature, so I’m around most of the time. I occasionally have weekend plans, but your pet will always be my top priority and I plan around them, not the other way around. When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, my goal is to keep things as close to their normal routine as possible. I follow feeding schedules, medication times, and any specific instructions exactly as the owner lays them out. I’m attentive to body language and behavior, so if something seems off with appetite, energy, bathroom habits- etc, I’ll notice it early and communicate right away. For safety, I always double-check doors, gates, and windows, keep harnesses and leashes secure on walks, and stay aware of any household hazards (cords, plants, foods, open balconies). I’ll send regular photo and video updates so you always know how things are going.
“Liz was great! She’s was easy to communicate with and did a wonderful job walking my dog while I was at work! He loved her! I wouldn’t hesitate to hire her again and would recommend her to anyone!”

“Rebecca was excellent. She communicated well, was friendly and enthusiastic, and handled a new situation with ease. She took the time to do an extra meet and greet to connect with my dog and me and understand all of our needs. She was composed with my eager pup who can be a handful when excited to meet new people. She handled a situation gracefully with my poor communication. Rebecca is clearly a dog lover who will channel that energy into her work. I would highly recommend Rebecca for your pet care needs.”

Highly recommend and will definitely rebook! I just moved to a new place and needed some help with Abby while I was at work. So much was new for Abby (new house, new walker) but Chelsea had no issues, and clearly made Abby comfy and happy. Refilled her water water time, gave her her frozen kong and gave me great updates. Thanks Chelsea!!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
