“Christina went above and beyond! She did great with our fearful dog, including when she struggled with the new years fireworks. She made sure she got her medicine, went out & ate enough, and got plenty of love. And she did an equally excellent job with our cats. Would highly, highly recommend for house sitting, dog walking, checking in on cats. Thank you so much!”

“kamy was excellent! she has a calm aura that immediately made our cat feel comfortable and safe with her. she sent very detailed summaries each day and was responsive when we reached out. we would trust her to watch our baby again!”

“Nick cared for Joni during a full workday while I took a long roadtrip with a friend. Communicated well about his arrival and departure times, and seems to really like dogs!”

“Jovelle was a wonderful cat sitter! She house sat and took care of my very social, playful cat while I was away. Jovelle is an outstanding communicator, which made me feel comfortable and at ease. She sent me photos and a detailed update multiple times per day, which included mealtime details and updates on play time. I came home to a spotless house and a very happy kitty! I recommend Jovelle for pet sitting!”

“Samantha was awesome, our dog and cat loved her, she kept the pics coming through the day which, as someone that travels so much, is something deeply appreciated, overall incredibly thoughtful and highly recommend!”

“Stephanie was amazing! I get so nervous leaving my cats but she made me feel so at ease and I was able to enjoy my trip and relax! I have one kitty who is very scared but only after a couple hours, she warmed up to Stephanie which told me how warm and kind she was with the cats. I feel so lucky that we were able to book her! She sent the cutest pictures and I could tell both cats felt really comfortable and happy. She was also super flexible with our schedule when we had to chnage our dates (twice!) Thank you Stephanie!!!”

“Areana did a great job watching all three of our senior dogs in our home. We needed a sitter for an overnight on short notice and Areana was communicative and responsive and a pleasure to work with! I highly recommend her and will be reaching out to her again soon!”
“Stefan was a consummate professional. He arrived on time, communicated clearly with us for the duration of the stay, and sent quality photos regularly. Would recommend for dog sitting!”

“Vanessa did a great job watching after Barnaby for the weekend! She sent lots of pictures and updates throughout, which brought me a lot of peace of mind while I was away. I'd highly recommend her as a sitter.”

“Ellen was absolutely amazing with my dog! From the moment we met her, it was clear how much she genuinely cares about animals. She was attentive, responsible, and went above and beyond to make sure my dog felt comfortable, safe, and loved while I was away. She kept me updated with messages and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind. It was obvious my dog was not only well taken care of, but truly happy in her care. When I came home, everything was perfect—and my dog was calm and content, which says it all. I would 100% trust Ellen again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, kind, and dedicated dog sitter!”

“Elizabeth is great! We have two needy pets, including an old, anxious dog with mobility issues and other special needs. Elizabeth was perfect with administering medications and and keeping up with regular physical therapy exercises. We came home to a clean house and two well cared for (though possibly disappointed Elizabeth was gone) pets. I would definitely recommend Elizabeth if you need someone to watch pets in your home.”

“Quanece & Malik did an amazing job watching our dogs. They were incredibly communicative, they sent a message every time they walked our dogs with pictures/videos and details of the walk. We have two large breed dogs and one who can be a bit of a challenge - as he has a lot of energy - he takes an experienced dog walker to care for him. Quanece & Malik handled both dogs like professionals, which allowed me and my family to take a vacation without worrying about our pups at home. Thank you Quanece & Malik for your excellent care of our dogs- we would 10/10 recommend to anyone who needs a dog sitter!”

“Stella was amazing! She watched Franklin overnight and did such a great job keeping me updated with pictures and messages throughout the stay. That meant so much to me especially since Franklin can get pretty anxious when I am away. I felt totally at ease knowing he was in good hands. I would absolutely recommend Stella and would happily book her again! :)”

“Shakira was an excellent sitter for our lil man! She was on time and communicated in a timely, responsible fashion. She shared many photos of her stay with Linus, which was much appreciated. We would definitely hire her again!”

“Brenda was excellent with our 11 month old puppy. She kept his routine, exercised him (not an easy task), and sent me regular updates with pictures throughout the day - that made me feel great! Will definitely book her again.”

“Best dog sitters ever! 🥹 We have two rescue dogs, who have very unique needs. Haiku in particular we had a lot of anxiety about leaving, and this was our first time having an in home dog sitter for her. She has a somewhat severe case of anxiety, and requires a lot of work, actually being afraid of walks, people, everything really, and especially getting her to use the potty can be so hard because she is stubborn to do anything other than relax in her safe space after previous trauma she’d endured. Most dogs sitters turned us down after hearing about our dogs’ needs and no one else was able to do in home house sitting, and we weren’t even sure we’d be able to leave for the week to visit family. But Anna and Connor ended up being a god sent because not only were they able to house sit but after meeting Anna for the meet and greet I knew she would do a great job. They also must have done such a great job making Haiku comfortable and they were able to have some, what my partner and I would consider “wins” with her such as using the potty in the backyard which we are still working on. It seems like they even went above and beyond, using special feeders to see if she’d eaten and making special time for her to try to get her out of her shell and feeling comfortable/safe. I can stress enough this was no easy feat and leaving the dogs was my biggest stressor going away for a week, but with all Anna and Connor did for our dogs, it ended up being the least of my concerns, because my partner and I knew that our dogs were being treated with the most utmost care. In fact, Snoopy usually sleeps on the couch but was able to sleep in the guest bed while Anna and Connor were staying here so I think for that and other reasons their watching him was actually a treat for him, which is great because our Snoopy has attachment issues and used to really suffer from separation anxiety when I would leave. Not to mention (!) our flight was tragically cancelled in the middle of the night and Anna happened to be awake at 6am (lol) to immediately reassure us she would be able to care for the dogs an extra day while we were stuck in Colorado!!! What an amazing two dog sitters I can’t say enough I am flabbergasted lol. Anna sent me updates and pictures pretty much every day she was watching the pups, and her thorough communication and questions showed her thoughtfulness and care for the animals she watches. I can’t recommend these two enough and if we even travel again I will be quick to book them again if they would be willing to hang with my insane dogs again.”

“Ashley was terrific with my older dog for 2 nights...We got lots of updates--with photos..which I loved. I came home to a house in perfect condition and a very happy dog. Would not hesitate to recommend.”

“Logan was awesome. Super communicative with my partner while I was incommunicado, took great care of my house, and even took Ruby on some extra field trips out of the city to stretch her legs. I came home to a very happy and healthy pup. Highly, highly recommend!”

This was first time having Taylor sit for my boy Captain, and she was absolutely wonderful! She stayed at my apartment for a week, and everything went great. She came over and met Captain before the actual stay, and was so accommodating to Captain’s needs. She sent plenty of updates and photos throughout the week, and she also left my apartment spotless for when I got home. I am so thankful I found her, and I would highly recommend her for your pet sitting needs. Captain loved her, and she’ll always be my first choice from now on for watching him. Thank you again!

Alex was great with our pups! We were sent updates and photos everyday. Our dogs are older and need extra care with meds and their routine. Alex followed all instructions perfectly to take care of them. We are very happy with the care she provided and will definitely be booking again!

Outstanding! Marcella went above and beyond! Right from the start she noticed my door handle was loose and fixed it. She updated me often, walked my dog Pepper and kept her occupied and safe. She even comforted her when there was a crazy storm outside (she usually doesn’t care about storms) 10/10. She is so sweet and kind. Would absolutely recommend!

Mathilde was excellent - she was very communicative throughout and went above and beyond, trying to make sure my dog Molly (who can be picky eating) ate her food and took her medicine, and got her fill of walks and outdoor time. She also comforted Molly during a thunderstorm and shared great photos from the walk. Mathilde is a superstar!

Lillie did a great job with her drop in and overnight visit with our Lexi. She is a very conscientious individual who kept us well Informed of everything that was happening while we were away. We felt extremely comfortable with her caring for our 15 year old cockapoo while we were away and we definitely will use her again in the future. Beth
Ari did a wonderful job taking care of my dog (and my house!) while I was out of town. She gave timely updates, was extremely responsive and sent lots of pictures so I was sure he was happy and well taken care of. She also took great care of my house, doing laundry before she left and leaving the place looking just the way she found it. I would absolutely recommend Ari and book again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Ludlow walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Ludlow maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ludlow choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
