“Alexa was amazing!!!! Super friendly and responsive. We chatted before her booking and she asked many thoughtful questions about our kittens. Felt very comfortable leaving her with the fur babies.”

“Amanda was SO great to work with!! I'll definitely be looking to have her back again! She was detailed in all her daily reports and played a lot with my kitten! She left me a nice 'thank you' card as well which was so sweet and a nice touch! She was always on time and easy to communicate with. Thank you Amanda!”

“Asha has been helping us the past two months with our 4-month-old golden retriever puppy, Briggs. He can be quite the handful, very much in the puppy phase with teething and high energy, but she’s been so patient with him, also able to help us in being consistent with training during her visits. Sometimes our requests are last minute, but she’s very flexible in moving her schedule around to make it work. We trust her so much and are so appreciative of the support she’s given us already! 5 star review!”

“Zora was really thoughtful and seemed like she spent a great time with the cat :) She communicated well and made sure things were clear and aligned with what we discussed. Would definitely book her again!”

“Joe was great with the cats and immediately earned their trust. He went above and beyond cleaning up cat bowls and one throw up incident. Thank you, Joe!”

“Katrina made my first Rover experience worry free! She was highly communicative and clearly a very caring companion for my cat. I’ll definitely rebook with her for all my future pet sitting needs :)”

“Ellen was fantastic with Clover. She came to do a “Meet and Greet” and then we walked Clover to the park. Clover immediately took to Ellen, and I would not hesitate to have her watch Clover again. I would highly recommend!”

“Hazel did a really great job watching our cat and our dog. Our dog is reactive and has lots of energy and Hazel listened to our instructions and made sure he was safe and well taken cared of. She also made sure our house was cared for. I’ve had sitters in the past that just watched our pets and came home to a home that felt dirty and uncared for but it was nice to come home to a house that was clean and not a complete disaster from the pets. She sent photos and kept us updated on them both. Will definitely book her again when we go out of town”

“I've had pets for many years, and I believe Tricia may be the best sitter I've ever had. She asked appropriate questions ahead of time, and then gave me a detailed account of her visits - it made me feel so much better since I was worried about them being left alone. The kitties clearly loved her, and I felt confident that they were in good hands.”

About: I’ve taken care of my own or my friends’ pit bulls and other high energy/high needs dogs for 5+ years. I am accustomed to dogs that need a lot of play and a lot of attention on leash and/or extra care around other pets and people. I look forward to spending time with your pup, whether they’re high or low key! I’m currently preparing for law school, so I only have classes a couple of days a week. Much of my schedule is available either for regular walks or one-off sessions if your pup just needs to get some energy out. In my home, my family dog is my best buddy. He likes to play rough and cuddle, and I’ve learned to adapt to his moodiness. I think it’s the caretaker’s responsibility to read a dogs body language and get familiar with what they need, with the goal of building trust with them so that you can walk and play peacefully.
“Caroline was a wonderful sitter for our dog and cat! She made sure they had everything they needed + went the extra mile to give plenty of snugs to our clingy pittie and get our shy orange guy to warm up to her. Prompt check-ins, communications, and updates — would highly recommend her and will be booking again in the future!”

“Ariella is such a trusted cat sitter for our babies!! She treats them with love and is patient with our temperamental cat. She’s reliable and sends many photos with each visit!! Thanks Ariella 🥰🥰”

“Liam did such a wonderful job taking care of my cats! He was quick to respond to the last-minute booking, communicative throughout, and took a good number of pictures so I didn’t have to miss my cats too much. I will definitely be asking him to watch my cats again in the future!”

“Natalie is amazing. She is wonderful at communicating and came to the rescue last min with checking in on our cat Alice. She even brought packages in for me that were delivered! How incredible is she!!! Alice was also welcoming to her and could feel her care for her. Can’t wait for Natalie to check in on Alice again!”

About: I’m a college student with a flexible schedule and a genuine love for dogs of all sizes and personalities! I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life, giving me a lifetime of experience caring for them. I also have 5 years of experience volunteering at Lucky Dog Refuge, an animal shelter, where I regularly walked and cared for dogs, including many who were highly reactive. This experience helped me become very comfortable reading body language, understanding their individual needs, and adjusting how I care for them based on their comfort and energy level. I also spend a lot of time walking around West Philly and Center City, and live right by the Schuylkill River Trail, which is a great area for safe long walks. I’m currently offering an introductory rate for new clients as I’m getting started on Rover, while bringing years of hands-on experience caring for dogs. I’d love the opportunity to get to know your dog and provide them with the same patience, attention, and care I have given my own! I’m a college student, so my schedule is highly flexible, allowing me to work around you and your dog’s needs! I’m available for both dog walks and drop-in visits throughout the week, with the most flexibility on weekends. Hours Available: Monday: 1–2:30 PM Tuesday: 2–5 PM Wednesday: 1–2:30 PM Thursday: 2–5 PM Friday: 1–5 PM Saturday: All day Sunday: All day For walks, I’ll always keep your dog securely leashed and be mindful of their surroundings, energy level, and body language. I’m comfortable working with dogs of all different sizes, personalities, and energy levels, including reactive dogs from my shelter volunteer experience. During drop in visits, I’ll make sure your dog has everything they need, including fresh water, food, bathroom breaks, exercise, and tons of attention. I’ll also be respectful of your home and make sure doors and gates are securely closed before leaving. I’m happy to send updates and pics during visits so you know how your dog is doing!

Cailey was great! I had a situation where my prior sitter had a conflict, so I had to bring in Cailey last minute to watch my senior chihuahua. She was responsive, resourceful, reliable, and easy to work with. She really helped me out in a pinch. Highly recommend!

Jill has been helping us with our now 4-month-old golden retriever puppy, Briggs, for about 2 months. Jill has been so flexible in scheduling, even with our very last minute requests. She’s asked great questions related to Briggs, his training, and his routine, and so I feel comfort knowing his day-to-day won’t change even when we aren’t there. Briggs is in such good hands with Jill. We would recommend her to any dog owner, even those with crazy puppies!! 5 star review!

Kelsey has taken care of both our dog and chinchilla four times now. She consistently updates me and my partner with photos and descriptions of how they're feeling. She recognizes their needs and stress factors and communicates with us appropriately. Our dog is hesitant with most people, but loves Kelsey!

Faith is an excellent cat sitter & we wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again. From the photos & her updates I could see my cats felt comfortable with her and that she was taking great care of them! She followed our instructions & visited with them during the scheduled times.

Sally has been checking in on our cat many times now, and we always have peace of mind with Sally’s visits. She takes care of all the essentials and specific asks, is very reliable, and always sends pics of snuggles & playtime with our very social cat. Would definitely recommend Sally!

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:

- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
