About: Growing up I have had both cats and dogs. I have taken care of friends’ and family's’ dogs ranging from super energetic to calm and quiet. I would love to take care of and treat your furry (or non furry, I don’t discriminate) friend. I am currently in grad school but available during most weekends. My schedule varies by day and I can be available some afternoons/evenings during the week. Safety, security, and communication are the most important things to me when taking care of pets. I will always make sure that your pet is receiving the same care you would give them and treat them like my own.

“Leilana was so great! She took such good care of my kitten Margot, took pictures of her, and communicated with me throughout the whole booking process. I’ll definitely be booking her again!”

“Jill was so great with our two cats. They can be shy with new people but she got them out of their shells so easily. I think she may be a cat whisperer! She did a great job keeping them fed and occupied by playing with them. We really appreciated her attention to detail and she was very willing to care for them exactly as we wanted. She sent many many updates and pictures and it was super appreciated! Highly recommend her to watch your kitties!”

“Ben did an awesome job of taking care of my sweet pup while I was at work. He provided informative updates and photos to let me know the visit went well! Thanks Ben!!”

“Zoe took such great care of my cat Charlie!! He was dealing with some unexpected eye problems right before I left, and Zoe was super great in sending progress photos of his eye and answering some questions for my vet! will definitely be requesting Zoe again next time I go away :)”

“Maxime did a great job taking care of my cat while I was out of town! She was timely and communicated well. I definitely recommend Maxime to anyone looking for a sitter! :-)”

About: I've watched and walked dogs for friends and family over the years. It would be my pleasure to help your furry companion get some valuable outdoor time walking or settle in with my own dog in our home while you're out of town. I do gig work and am a graduate student, but can spend quality of time with them as my schedule is very accommodating. Currently I'm making my own schedule as a gig workers and freelancer. So my day to day is extremely flexible. I make sure my own dog gets plenty of outdoor time and walk almost everywhere myself. Currently living in an apartment with a roof dog area. There are a number of dog relief areas around the neighborhood as well as a couple parks.
“Lauren did a great job taking care of my puppy! She followed all instructions, sent lots of photos, and gave detailed updates throughout. Thank you, Lauren!”

“Lydia was excellent! Communication was easy and seamless and my (usually) shy cat took a liking to her and came out to say hi! Would highly recommend her.”

Alexandra was great! On extremely short notice she agreed to help me out. It was clear to me right away how much she cares for the pets she watches, which put me at ease during my travels. Her communication was excellent and her daily reports were a delight to read; I always looked forward to them! Would absolutely recommend her.

Amber was such a good sitter! My cat Airy loved spending time with her, and she sent plenty of photos and detailed updates about how Airy was doing. Her visits really put me at ease because I could tell she cared for my baby girl like she was her own. I’ll definitely book her the next time I need a sitter. Thanks Amber!!
We cannot leave enough great feedback about Janie and how well she took care of our Millie. She was punctual, communicated well, and loved her like her own pet. She truly relieved my dog dad anxiety. I wish the rating had a sixth star. Janie is the best! Would absolutely repeat.

Megan was amazing! She took time to make sure she was understanding our needs with our two kitties, was on time and professional, and provided pictures for peace of mind. We even had our two mischievous boys accidentally lock themselves in our bedroom one day, and Megan dropped what she was doing to go over to our house outside of her scheduled time to break them free. Would 10/10 hire again!

Zahra took such good care of my kitten while I was out of town! She was extremely detailed with her care and communication and if you’re looking for a sitter in the Fishtown area I can’t recommend her enough. It was great to receive so many pictures and videos of my cat having a great time. If I need a sitter I’ll be using Zahra again.

As a first time Rover member, I was so relieved to have someone who took the time to meet my pets beforehand, learn their quirks, and send detailed updates. Julia gave me that comfort and reassurance I needed as an attached cat mom who hates leaving her kids! She also left a sweet note and cat toys and that goes a long way for me. Can't rave enough about Julia!

Rachel is dependable and made sure to provide details with every visit. We appreciated all the photos and knew our pups were in good care. Rachel was diligent in taking notes during the meet and greet which made us feel at ease when leaving her in the care of our older dog with many medications. The pups had a great experience and look forward to her care in the future!

Ginny was fantastic with my two cats Cal and Ludlow! She went above and beyond, watered our plants, and left the most thoughtful visit notes. The boys are shy but she won them over. We came home to a spotless house and two happy cats. Highly recommend and will definitely book again!

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.
Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Philadelphia stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.
Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Philadelphia. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
