About: I have spent all of my life around animals, and have absolutely loved spending time with them since I was young. As a kid I volunteered at my local shelter, playing with the residents and doing what I could to help take care of them and keep them happy. I personally grew up with both cats and dogs. I was the family member responsible for training and teaching our dogs new commands. I would be more than happy to go on long walks or spend time playing with and keeping your pets company. I am currently a school teacher on break, so I have plenty of time to love on your fur baby! I am currently openly available, until the school year begins in September. Until then, I am generally available during the week from 8 am to 10 pm. I am more than happy to feed, walk, play with, and love your animals in your home. I have experience with administering insulin to cats as well.
“She was very respectful very patient with my dog he is a jumper and she understood that she was very patient with him she played with him for over the time limit sent me lots of photos and he looked super happy definitely hire her again to watch my dog”

“Amy is great with my boys. She goes above and beyond with them! I can always tell they have a great time when she’s there. Thank you so much for all you do for our boys, we appreciate you! :)”

About: Caring for pets is my passion. I'm a veterinary assistant with experience in general practice, emergency/critical care, and medical oncology. I have also volunteered as a puppy sitter for Guide Dogs for the Blind, an organization dedicated to helping the visually impaired community. Growing up, I always helped family, friends, and neighbors care for their pets, and I began my professional career in veterinary medicine at 19 years old. My beloved dog Dovey crossed the rainbow bridge recently. I would love to offer pet sitting/dog walking services to help you, and to help heal my heart. I am currently available for pet sitting service in your home, and dog walking service. I am currently looking for full time employment. Availability is subject to change when I begin working full time. My priority is making your pet feel safe and comfortable. I am well versed in animal behavior and reading their body language. I always approach pets in a calm, gentle manner.
“Kathy is our number one sitter, she’s respectful of our property and most importantly our doggos. They seem super comfortable and excited when Kathy comes to watch them.”

“Daniel was great with our senior cat who is a little quirky and needs meds twice per day. He was communicative, responsive, and sent plenty of photos. Would highly recommend for any pet care needs!”

“Bri did a great job with my cats and was communicative throughout the 6 days she took care of my furbabies. I will definitely ask her to cat sit for me again”

“Denille was absolutely fantastic! Hooch quickly felt comfortable with her and was excited for her visits. She maintained his schedule on time and accurately. I wouldn’t hire anyone one else if I am in need of a sitter. Another upside is I think my Hooch is planning vacations for me so he can see Denille again.”

“Alexis was a great sitter for our cat Atlas and our betta fish Simon, excellent communications throughout, provided great status pics, and was overall someone whom I would trust with all our pets. She will be on our regular sitter rotation going forward!”

“We can home to a very happy dog! Charles took great care of our Pittie-mix while we were away. Always on time and provided great details about their visits. Really glad to have found him, we will definitely use Charles again for dog sitting.”

About: Experienced dog owner and care taker for weekly clients and vacation stays. I treat all my “part time” pets as if they were my own. I enjoy making them feel comfortable and happy with long walks, treats and toys!!! Flexible. Each week is different depending on the number of clients. My primary job is working from home making my own schedule. Willing to discuss which time’s best fits pet owner’s needs. I have space to host your fur baby with lots of space outside to play around and to go on amazing walks giving your pet plenty of fresh air.

“Nicole was fantastic with our two cats, who required a lot of love and attention while we were out of town. She always went above and beyond which was extremely helpful and appreciated! Highly recommend!”

“We had a great experience with our dog sitter while we were away. He took excellent care of Julie and Romeo, made sure they were fed, let outside regularly, and kept us updated throughout the stay with pictures and messages, which gave us a lot of peace of mind. It was clear both dogs were comfortable and well cared for. We really appreciated the communication, reliability, and attention he gave them. I would definitely trust him to watch Julie and Romeo again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for dependable pet care.”

“Brianna was kind enough to accept our very last minute request and came over to meet the cats and get care instructions ahead of time. Very happy to have found a friendly and professional sitter in our new town.”

About: I have a dog at home, but due to her reactivity I am unable to foster or adopt other animals. I love playing and being around all types of animals. I’ve housesat for my family and friends since I was about 13. I would love to help out and take care of your furry friends while you’re away! I am currently working Monday-Friday 9-5 during the week. So my availability would be Friday to Sunday, so if you need a weekend getaway I’m your girl! It’s important to learn your dogs usual schedule to help them feel more comfortable while you are away!

About: Dogs have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes — from small breeds to large — and I truly understand that every dog has their own personality, needs, and routine. Having a dog as a companion brings so much joy, and I treat every dog in my care with that same love and respect. Over the years, I’ve helped family and friends by dropping in for potty breaks, providing companionship, and caring for their dogs while they’re away. Being trusted with someone’s pet is something I take seriously. I know how important it is to keep dogs comfortable, safe, and on their regular routine. What sets me apart is that I don’t see dog sitting as just a service — I see it as caring for a member of your family. Whether your dog needs playtime, a calm and reassuring presence, or simply someone dependable to keep things running smoothly while you’re away, I’m here to help. Your dog’s happiness and well-being will always be my priority. Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine. I’m a part-time preschool teacher, which means I’m available after 2 PM on weekdays for drop-ins, walks, and play time with your pups! My afternoons are open and flexible, allowing me to give your dog the attention and care they deserve. I’m also available for weekend check-ins, making it easy to support you whether you’re away, working late, or just need an extra helping hand. I take care of pets right in your home, so they stay comfy and stress-free in their own space. I make sure they get their meals, walks, playtime, potty breaks, and lots of attention. I follow your routine and any special instructions so your furry friend feels happy and safe while you’re away.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Merchantville
Our first time with a pet sitter was amazing. Brijana was patient with our two Shih Tzus. She sent the time getting to know them, making them feel comfortable and observing them. We walked together and they warmed up so easily. The peace of mind was priceless. Thank you Brijana, we look forward to our next visits.

Nicole was amazing! Very quick and polite communication. Took great daily photos and followed up with everything! She even handled some things that were outside of my initial request, to make sure we returned to a good situation. Would definitely recommend her, and will be using her again myself!

Kelsey was amazing with my cat! We just moved to our new house before a week away, so I was feeling a little worried about Bitsy's being without us. But Kelsey's visits clearly made my kitty happy. The daily photos, videos and other home updates were fantastic. Thank you so much, Kelsey!! Highly recommend!

Amy was amazing! This was the first time ever trying rover and we went with Amy. She was truly amazing from the very first second we met her. Leaving your pets alone for the very first time is scary let alone having a stranger in your house while you are away. Amy was amazing and we felt completely safe with her. She took good care of our kitties and we wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again for future vacations. Thank you so much Amy! 💜

Carly was fantastic and was super communicative from the start as it was our first time using Rover. She provided great updates and always responded quickly to any questions we had. It’s always tough having someone new come in and take care of your dog, but Carly was amazing and dasher loved her right away. We can’t wait to use Carly again in the future.

So grateful for having found Tara - reliable, responsible, gives good visit reports, and has incredible patience trying to catch a quick photo of our shy and elusive calico! Tara has taken care of our cat a few times when we’ve been away and we trust her as our go-to. Highly recommend. Thank you Tara!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
