“Gregory is absolutely great with my pup. Spent lots of time to give my boy cuddles, took him to his play group and reliable. I have rebooked him a couple times since he's been great.”

“Katie was an excellent dog sitter! She was communicative, thoughtful, and made sure that my anxious pup maintained her routine - it really felt like a seamless continuation of her life. Looking forward to working with Katie again in the future!”

“We’re so glad Anthony was able to stay with our little dog while we were out of town! He kept us updated the entire time and it was easy to relax on our vacation knowing Sunny was in great hands.”

“I had a 2 week trip planned before deciding to adopt my foster dog. I was nervous to leave her as she was newer to my home. Christina did an absolutely fabulous job taking care of her! Walks, treats, play time and frequent updates with photos. I would highly recommend Christina for your pet sitting needs. She's the best and my dog Lucy loves her!”

“10/10 recommend Sky. She was available on short notice and was available for a meet and greet the next day. My pup took to her immediately! Sky was prompt in arrival and departure. She sent me regular updates and my home was very tidy upon return. If Sky had any care questions, she sent them my way. Your pup or cat will certainly be adored if they have Sky caring for them!”
“Kiara did a wonderful job caring for my dog and cat last weekend, keeping them on a good feeding and walking schedule, hanging out with them, and providing medicine to my cat. She was responsive in a very timely manner, keeping me posted on how things were going throughout the weekend, with texts ad photos. My house was in perfect shape when I got home and my dog and cat were happy -- the best evidence that they had been well cared for and completely at ease with their sitter. Thanks, Kiara!!”

“This was the first time we ever used the service for a week while we were away for vacation. From the first meeting with Alexis we knew Charlie would be in great hands. He had taken to her instantly and it was obvious her love for dogs. She kept us well informed throughout the week with text messages and plenty of pictures. Alexis was very respectful of our home and we returned to it as when we left it. It was such peace of mind knowing that Charlie was able to stay in his comfortable environment and keep his familiar schedule while we were away. Alexis was mindful and wanted to make sure Charlie kept to his familiar daily routine. She was an absolute pleasure to have worked with and we have no regrets. We will most definitely use her again in our next need . We would highly recommend her to anyone needed dog sitting. Thank you Alexis for taking such good care of Charlie!! The experience was more than we expected!!”

“Jillian and Stella's were a great match. Jillian sent me pictures of Stella every day and Stella looked content. My dog is a barker and Jillian handled it with kindness and understanding. I will definitely use Jillian again! She is a true dog lover! Thanks Jillian.”

“This is our second time booking with Brittany and it won’t be the last! Brittany is awesome! She is respectful of our home, treats our cats wonderfully, makes sure one gets his medicine everyday. She checks in and sends us photos every couple of days-which I love! It means so much that we can enjoy our vacation, knowing that our pets are in good hands 😊”

“Jacob was AMAZING with our four...challenging pets (two cats, two dogs). His communication with us was clear and consistent throughout our entire trip, he followed all of our instructions exactly as we asked, and our animals (and house!) were all well taken care of. I can't recommend Jacob enough!”

About: Hi there! I have over twenty years of experience providing dog walking, drop-in visits, and dog, cat and house sitting for friends, neighbors, and family. I’m currently available for dog walking, sitting, and drop-in visits. I grew up with cats starting at the age of one. Dogs became a part of my family starting in my young adult years. I often find myself helping friends or family with their pets and frequenting animal shelters and pet stores to engage with animals. *Please note, I have developed an allergy to cats over the years and can't snuggle with them as much as I could as a kid. I can still hang out with them for shorter periods of time. Drop in visits with cats are best. My schedule is subject to change depending on my schedule for work. I'm currently available for dog walks and drop-in visits 10AM-3PM Monday-Saturday for families in Collingswood and Westmont. I'll be commuting by foot or bike. Depending on my availability and location, I may be able to travel further for overnight stays for families within walking distance of the Patco line as far as the Woodcrest station in New Jersey and safer neighborhoods within walking distance of the Patco line as far as the 15th and Locust station Philadelphia. For the purpose of online safety, please send me a message including a picture of you, any additional family members in your household and your pets. The next step would be to coordinate a meet and greet in a public place to determine if we are a good fit to work together. Before working together, you would be required to fill out forms, and read and sign a waiver agreement which I would provide for you through the app. Bookings for the care of other animals besides dogs and cats will be customized. Additional fees will be added as needed, for example, for last minute bookings, late arrivals, and re-stocking supplies. All pets must be neutered or spayed and up to date for vaccinations required by state laws/regulations. I will only accept dogs (and cats, etc.) who are non-aggressive, not in heat, trained, and obey basic commands. If any animals show any aggressive or violent behavior, I will need to end the business relationship. I'm happy to care for other animals such as bunnies, fish, etc., however, if there are any requests to care for pets in your household that are poisonous, or if you have snakes or arachnids, my response will be a loving no. Please note that I will only walk no more than two dogs at a time. I’ve walked dogs in all types of weather including rain and snow. In extreme or unfavorable weather conditions, I will need to discern what’s best for the safety of everyone and adjust the duration of walks accordingly. Our time together may have to start out as a walk and shift to an indoor drop-in visit. In that case, I would be happy to play or hang out with your dog(s) or cat(s) and give him or her love for the time that was booked. For overnight stays in Philadelphia in safe neighborhoods along the Patco line, I ask that you have a safe fenced in area to let your pet out before bedtime. For safety, I will not be taking pets out for walks later in the evening/night.
About: As a dedicated wildlife and pet caretaker with a passion for understanding and protecting animal habitats, I have spent years immersed in the wonders of the natural world. As a pet owner for over six years, I’ve deepened my appreciation for the unique bonds that form between humans and animals, whether in our homes or in the wild. Currently, I take care of my beloved rescue Siberian husky Niko. As well I spend some of my free time looking after my friend’s dogs and cats. My goal as a caregiver is to provide a safe and stimulating environment for pets' minds and bodies. Currently I’m a student at Drexel university and have a very flexible schedule. I’m free Thursday-Sunday mostly in the mornings to late afternoons. Depending on the day I can also do evenings It is important to that pets are comfortable and feel safe all conditions. I make it a rule of thumb to keep dogs on leash during public walks and around other pets. If there is a fenced in area I will make it a priority to check and see if the area is properly supervised and secure for your pet. On regular walks having fun is always number 1. If your pet wants to chill inside and needs cuddles, or wants to take an extra adventure i’m always down.
“Amy was the best! She kept me updated throughout my trip. Sent lots of photos and videos. Gave my cat his medication on time and kept me well informed. I came back to a clean home and happy cats. Will rebook definitely”

“Erin was a great sitter for our 3 pups. We received lots of update pics and they seemed so happy and comfortable. Will definitely be booking her for a couple other trips we have this year!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Gloucester City
I've had Peter petsit for a year or two now, and he's fantastic. He's responsive, timely, trustworthy, and communicative. You can tell he really cares about the animals and treats them like family. Peter goes above and beyond, and he's helped us with a crisis or two while we were out of town. He did really well with my reactive dog (who loved him despite being aloof with most people) as well as my new puppy. Peter is my go-to for pet care and once you hire him, I'm sure he'll be yours too!

Cannot say enough good things about Alex. My cat has a newly diagnosed illness and I was insanely stressed about leaving her at home for the first time since finding out. Alex was incredibly kind and understanding about my nerosis and treated my home with impeccable care. They were very generous with photos and updates which helped me so much. I hope Alex is always available when kitty needs a sitter.

I cannot thank Susan enough for her help! She jumped in last minute to care for our needy boys. With patience (and magic?) she got our shy guy out of hiding to not only eat during our absence, but to accept pets and playtime. She also gave our outgoing guy all the snuggles and attention he craves. Susan’s thorough updates and pics were crucial in putting this anxious cat mom’s mind at ease. Will 100% book with Susan again.

Krista was phenomenal. She was extremely communicative, attentive, and responsive throughout our trip. When we had to deal with a last minute flight cancellation, she was able to accommodate and stay with Luca a bit longer. We felt totally confident that he was in excellent hands. Would highly recommend and will absolutely be booking with Krista again!!

Lauren took excellent care of Valira and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. She kept me updated throughout the stay, sent me photos regularly, and her communication was outstanding from start to finish. It was very reassuring to know that Valira was in such good hands. I highly recommend Lauren to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter. I will definitely book with her again!

Lana was incredible with our dogs! It was our first time leaving our younger dog for a week and Lana relieved any worries we might’ve had. Our older dog has been waiting for her to come back since we’ve returned home. I can’t recommend Lana enough and will definitely work with her on future trips.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Gloucester City on Rover is $85.57 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 5,391 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Gloucester City. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Gloucester City walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Gloucester City maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Gloucester City choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
