“Rhea is truly an exceptional sitter. This was the first time I had to board my 10-year old labradoodle, and she made both my dog and me very comfortable and happy while I was away. Rhea clearly has a talent when it comes to caring for dogs and communicating with the owner. She is loving, responsible, reliable and a great communicator. I hope that she will be able to take care of my dog again the next time I need her help. I can't imagine a better place for my dog.”

“I would like to just say thank you. This was my first time boarding my son dog and was anxious beyond words. She made sure my pup was loved and cared for. I was kept updated daily and some of the pictures she took will be kept forever that’s how happy he was. Tofu came home very content and healthy. Kanade went above and beyond with my pup and I am beyond grateful.”

“She was absolutely amazing! She was very easy to communicate with, she gave us frequent updates including pictures and videos. Highly recommend her!”

“This is the second time Zoey stayed with them and I only have positive things to say! Peter and Julie are wonderful as always and we will definitely continue to use them again.”

“Carismeldi took fantastic care of my pup! She also sent plenty of updates and pics throughout this first stay which was reassuring. So thankful to have found her as a sitter. Looking forward to our dog staying with her again in a few weeks!”

“I booked with Sheree literally last minute. She graciously accepted my request. She did great with my puppy. He was happy and loved on all weekend. Really gave me peace of mind that he was in such good hands. She sent me pics and updates periodically. He had such a good time. I will certainly book with her again. She will be my go to when I go out of town. Thank you Sheree. 😀”

“Amy was fantastic - we instantly felt comfortable with her husband and her (and, more importantly, so did the dog!). She was very detail oriented, sent pictures throughout Champ's short stay and made sure Champ got plenty of exercise. I also appreciated her policy not to take multiple dogs at once. We will definitely be repeating with Amy - the whole experience was great!”

“Deena took great care our pup Dingo. She has the perfect setup in her space with a fenced backyard and lots of space for the dogs to play indoors as well. We were able to meet up in advance and do a meet and great and get Dingo to recognize and feel comfortable in the space before dropping him off. When my flight was delayed getting back, she was very kind and accommodating. She sent us pictures and updates and the communication was wonderful and helpful. Excellent experience! We would definitely book her in the future (: Highly recommend!!”

“Very pleased! This was our first time using a Petsitter outside of our family/friends and we couldn’t have been more impressed. I know our pup was in super hands. Very appreciative of Kerry’s updates, and we could tell that Riggs felt comfortable and happy the whole time we were away. Kerry is wonderful!”

“Angela cared for Teddy like he was her own! We received regular picture/video updates and communication. He was safe and comfortable in her space. Everything you want in a sitter!!”

About: Attention to detail. Lots of love to give with kids grown and departed. We believe your animals are just as important as our friends and family. We work from home and have a small havanese dog as well as a small cat. Caring for another pup or two would be no problem at all! We have a fully fenced in back yard. A spacious home that is already dog friendly. And a very safe and beautiful neighborhood. Must be cat friendly. Lots of love and attention to give.
“Bryce was great with Alfie! It took Alfie some time to settle in which made me a bit nervous but Bryce ensured me that he had things under control and Alfie would be okay. He was even patient with me because I was worried! Bryce was also very accommodating when I had the dates incorrect due to the time zone. He quickly responded and modified the date. He was great! Thank you Bryce!”

“Chloe was THE BEST! She was kind, patient, and very attentive to my very needy, old, anxious dog. Unfortunately my dog developed diarrhea the day after I dropped her off, and Chloe did a fantastic job handling the situation. She communicated with me clearly throughout the entire process and took such great care of my dog when she was sick. My dog was being extremely difficult, yet Chloe dealt with so many issues professionally and with compassion. My dog also instantly loved her which was a sign of how gentle and kind she is with animals. I would highly highly recommend Chloe and would definitely use her again to care for my dog!”

“Carmen and Caitlin took great care of my pup, Kandy. They were communicative, kept me updated on any issues, and sent photos everyday. I was originally a little nervous to leave her with new people for almost a week, but we did a meet and greet beforehand that made me feel much better and confident that Kandy would be in great hands. I highly recommend!!”

“Our dog Clover had a great time with Alexis! She was super attentive and sent us update photos and videos throughout Clover’s stay. Would definitely book again!”

“Jake was great. Very communicative, and let us know of our boys happenings. Buddy was nice and exhausted when he got home. Highly recommend, will book with him again.”

“Samantha was incredible in every way. From our first conversation it was obvious she was super passionate about dogs and understood dog behavior really well. Our pup thrived at Samantha’s and we will be a forever client. Thanks!!”

“Mygan was amazing! She took such great care of my Charlie! She was so kind and thoughtful. She sent pics daily like I asked and she even did well with his medication. Thank you so much I will definitely rebook!”

So happy I found this website and Jayanna! She did an amazing job and made my dog feel comfortable, even though she was very nervous around the other dogs at first. Jayanna was patient and caring. She sent us photos and videos throughout the stay without us even having to ask, which gave us great peace of mind. She was also extremely flexible and accommodating, especially since our booking request was made only two hours in advance. I highly recommend her and will definitely use her services again! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Carmen and Caitlin were great and patient with our senior dog. I had full confidence when first meeting them that they knew what they are doing and truly cared about ensuring our dog would have a good stay. From what we could tell, our dog really enjoyed his stay. We would definitely use them again.

Anna is probably the best dog sitter we have ever had! Even before meeting her I could just tell she had such a passion for fur babies ! Before our trip she came to our place to meet our pups, and there was no doubt that she was a nurturing and loving person all around. She has a great knowledge of dogs that need specific care. We have a mini dachshund, and she was fully aware of the specific needs to keep them safe and healthy. While we were away, she sent us tons of pictures and updates that we requested, and put our minds at ease so we could fully enjoy our trip. It didn’t seem like our pup wanted to leave when we came back! I would recommend her to anybody over and over again because we will definitely be using her again! Thanks again, Anna, you are truly a special person!

Sarah took care of my dog Boomer well! This is the second time in two weeks we left Boomer with Sarah. It was very rare for him, a rescue dog who is very cautious to those outside family, not to growl to someone trying to reach with hand while in my wife’s arms. It happened to Sarah. It means that Boomer trusts Sarah. It shows how much she cared for Boomer while he is with her. I will definitely take Boomer again to Sarah next time.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
