“We were a bit nervous about leaving our sweet Gabriel with someone new this was our very first time trusting our dog to someone we didn’t know. From the moment we met Nicole, she instantly put us at ease. My husband and I could tell right away that she and her partner were knowledgeable about dogs. They kept us updated every day with messages and adorable pictures, which meant so much to us. Gabe seemed to have the best time, made new friends, and came home happy and relaxed. This was truly the best experience for us, and we’ll definitely be using their services again! BTW Gabe didn’t want to leave. -Simpson Family”

“I can’t recommend Alexandra enough! She has been taking care of my dog, Milo, for quite some time now, and I always have complete peace of mind knowing he’s in her care. She and family truly treat Milo like he’s their own. He’s always so well cared for, loved, and honestly spoiled in the best way possible. It’s clear that she genuinely cares about the animals she watches, and it shows in everything she does. She’s reliable, kind, attentive, and always keeps me updated, which means so much. Milo is always happy to see her, and that says it all. If you’re looking for someone who will treat your pet like family, she’s the one. I wholeheartedly recommend her!”

“Samantha and Roberto took such great care of my Roxy!!! We kept in touch with lots of pupdates, photos and videos! I knew my girl was in great hands!”

About: I’ve spent years caring for dogs of all sizes for friends and neighbors, but I also have volunteer as a Day Adventurer at ACCT. This has given me invaluable experience with diverse temperaments and leash-handling for dogs of all sizes. I grew up with dogs, but don’t currently have one of my own. Whether your dog requires a strict crate schedule, specific walk times, or high-energy exercise, I am happy to do whatever they need to feel safe and enjoy their time while your away. Availability: I recently ended employment at Penn as a Project Manger in June and currently enjoying summer- working from home on applications so I am ideally suited for dogs who enjoy a morning and evening "adventure" with a calm midday nap! My apartment is adjacent to park and SRT. I currently work full time as a research project manager at Penn M-F 9-5 with occasional WFH. I am free weekends for adventures with your pup. My apartment is neat and your dog can be free to roam or if has a certain crate schedule happy to follow. Right outside my apartment is a park with lots of green space and close to schuylkill river trail.

“Hilary and her family were so great! They were easy going, communicative, and very nice. I really appreciated all of the photos. I hope to have our dog stay with them again. She seems tired and happy after her overnight stay.”

“Megan is amazing! I got lots of updates and pictures throughout Bella’s stay with her. But mostly, she was so patient and understanding with my weather related delays in picking her up. I was very fortunate that Megan communicated so well because I was able to keep her updated, and Bella was in great hands while I was away.”

Makeba is the best!!! Highly highly recommend if you are looking for someone who is sweet & genuinely cares for your pups. My boy is a pretty anxious fellow & is a bit fearful of people at first but she was so gentle and understanding with him. I actually think she broke him out of his shell! We appreciate her sm.

We hate to leave Gracie but we felt secure that she was in good hands with Russell! Russell sent us updates daily with pictures and took great care of Gracie!! Gracie enjoyed the big yard and playing with a new dog friend! We are very grateful to Russell for taking such good care of Gracie while we were away!!

Tony did a great job caring for Honey, a very energetic puppy who keeps you engaged. The video and photo updates provided us contentment that Honey was having a great time. Thank you Tony for providing an attentive and fun environment for Honey. Honey had such a great time that after she got over the excitement of being back home she crawled back in her carrier asking to visit her new friends.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
