“Luna loves staying with Elizabeth. She gets lots of love, walks and belly rubs. And I have peace of mind knowing my Luna is in great hands when I’m away. We are big fans of Elizabeth!”

“Brian was an awesome host for our two dogs. He was very communicative and shared pictures throughout the weekend. We would definitely feel comfortable leaving our dogs with Brian again in the future!”

“As always, Adrienne was amazing with our dog George! This is the third time that we have had him stay with her, and each time we are so happy with the service that she provides. George was well care for and loved while we were away on a nine day trip. When our flight got canceled and we were stuck in another country for an extra day, Adrienne was more than accommodating. We will definitely be using her for our next trip.”

“Khaing was a great, flexible and accommodating sitter. She provided periodic photos updates of Tito while he was in her care. Khaing was communicative and very loving. I would definitely hire her again.”

“Kristina was awesome! She sent daily updates and pictures which I really appreciated, took Mika on daily walks, and really made me feel like she gave her special attention and care! We look forward to using Kristina in the future!”

About: I’ve owned and cared for cats, dogs, fish, rodents and reptiles for more than 45 years. I would be happy to share the love with your furry (or otherwise) family members too. I currently have a sheepadoodle that loves other dogs and people, so he would love to have a playmate to come and take walks and spend time with us. I currently work from home so I have plenty of freedom to spoil all the pets in my care. I do look after my 3 year old grandson sometimes so getting along with children would be an important quality if your pet should come to stay with me. I have a fenced yard and a very friendly sheepadoodle that gets along with both dogs and cats. We love to go on walks too.

“My fur baby usually has separation anxiety and gets sad with other people but she Absolutely LOVED Tamika ! Was so happy to be with her and playing for several days . 5 stars”

“Rhea and her husband were absolutely incredible! They were so accommodating and communicative throughout the entire sitting. They sent constant picture updates, kept me informed about potty breaks, and asked thoughtful questions to make sure my pup was comfortable. Most impressively, they always responded in under a minute—such peace of mind. This was by far one of the best experiences I’ve had on Rover, and I’m so glad we connected. They’re true professionals who are clearly passionate about what they do. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for loving, reliable care.”

“Yuiko is the best! We just returned from a 12-day trip. During our time away Yuiko looked after our 26lb 1.5 year old terrier-mix Bailey. This was Bailey's third and by far the longest stay with Yuiko and her family. Bailey was a member of Yuiko's family during his stay. He made lots of friends. He was superbly cared for. Yuiko kept us abreast with multiple daily photos of Bailey. And she gave us a detailed update when we went to pick Bailey up at the end of our stay. I highly recommend Yuiko.”

“Patty was extremely thoughtful and sweet to my senior dog for a week stay. I didn't have to worry at all, and he came back nice and tired and happy. He even made a doggie friend during his stay! Plus, she sent me some really great photos of him.”

“Zyiana is an excellent sitter. Sent daily updates and pictures of my dog. He seemed very happy during his stay. I highly recommend and will book again!”

“We have left Cooper with Andres several times now, and he has been very pleasant and accommodating from the first interaction. He sends picture updates throughout the stay, and is always sure to provide a "debrief" of the stay when we pick him up. Its very comforting knowing that if there is even the smallest thing, slightly out of the ordinary, Andres will pick up on it, and keep us informed. Cooper always seems to have a great time; whether it be running around with Lumpkin or any other dogs being boarded at the same time. We have been nothing short of pleased, and will continue taking Cooper to Andres. If you're looking for peace-of-mind boarding, look no further. Andres is top notch.”

“David was fantastic and we even extended needed to extend our stay due to flight delays! He was super flexible. Our Coco had the best time! We definitely hope to use David again. I would absolutely recommend him to friends and family. Thank you!”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! Nicole & Alexis was absolutely wonderful with our dog! attentive, kind, and clearly experienced. She kept us updated with photos and messages, followed all of our instructions perfectly, and treated our dog like her own. It gave us such peace of mind knowing our dog was in such loving hands. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter!”

“He was above and beyond. My new rescue had to be left behind for the holidays and wasn’t super comfortable yet, so he had some behavioral issues and, I’m embarrassed to say, ruined some of George’s valued possessions. George was beyond kind and gracious/understanding. He sent pictures and videos of my dog playing with his and I could see that he was having a good time”

“Bean loved Kerry and so did I! She sent me the sweetest updates and was flexible with me when I had unforeseen circumstances and needed to adjust pickup timing. She was also patient with bean when she became fussy, ‘spicy bean’ can be a handful so I really appreciated that!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
