“Dave and Phyllis are very attentive and caring. I know my baby is getting babied when he is with them, and they are flexible and accommodating. They alerted me that my dog’s allergies had begun to merit medical attention when I came to pick him up.”

“Alex and her family were very welcoming. I like that they did a meet and greet just to ensure that my dog would be a good fit for them to take care of. My dog was very excited to be with them and they took great care of him. I received updates and pictures during his stay. I am grateful to them to be able to enjoy my vacation and know that my precious Goose was in great hands. I am appreciative and grateful for such wonderful service.”

“We had a fantastic experience with Annette and Martin. Great communication and responsiveness. We loved seeing all the pictures while we were away. We highly recommend them for dog boarding.”

“Sabin is a wonderful person that just takes his job seriously and he treated my daughter with nothing but love and care! Would 1000% rebook later on. He is the definition of perfection!!”

“Ashley and her family were excellent; so welcoming and loving. My dog was obviously well taken care of and exercised (she slept all day after picking her up). Thank you so much!!”
“Hilary and her husband were great with my dog, Mallory. I am always nervous leaving her somewhere new, but they sent tons of pictures so I knew she was having so much fun. She loves other dogs so it was great for her to have some other dogs to play with and she seemed to make herself super comfortable in their house and around their family. I would definitely use Hilary and her family again to watch my girl!”

“Madeline and her husband and her 3 dogs kept my pup well loved and well cared for for my 4 day trip! I will definitely be rebooking! I got frequent updates and pictures of Marley having a blast with the other dogs in her home. Madeline administered ear medication and kept up with my house training. This is basically a doggie summer camp- everyone comes back exhausted and happy!! I would definitely say that this is a good spot for social dogs as there are often others around.”
“Since this was a new location and person for Louie, I was a little apprehensive. After meeting Adrienne and her daughter, I knew he would be fine. They loved him and he even played with one of their dogs. I won't hesitate to use her again!”

“As always, Kevin took the best care of our boy. His own dog has become one of our dogs best friends and we couldn’t be happier. We honestly can’t say enough how lucky we are to have found someone we feel completely safe and secure leaving our pup with when we’re away.”

“Theo took such great care of Gus! I got lots of photos while I was away and Gus looked so happy in all of them and he wasn't anxious at all when I picked him up. Theo also suggested we do a meet and greet beforehand which eased my own anxiety about leaving Gus for almost a week. I would definitely book with Theo again!”

“Juliana was a great sitter for my pug, Riggins! Riggins stayed multiple nights at her house and constantly gave updates and pictures of all the fun he was having. I would highly recommend and would use Juliana again!”

“Kelsey & Conor were amazing with George!! He settled in immediately with their two dogs, Brody and Beans, and had the best week ever. Daily walks, constant play, and by the end he was lounging on their furniture like he owned the place. They sent photos and updates without us having to ask, and were very flexible with drop-off and pickup over a busy holiday week. He came home happy and completely worn out. Could not recommend them more!!”

“Ben was so great!! Took amazing care of my baby doodle and sent multiple updates. He was always available if I had questions. He was so friendly and clearly cared for my dog as if it was his own. I will definitely use again!!”

“It was our first time booking this sitter and she was absolutely amazing. She sent me lots of pictures of my dog 🐶 and updates on how she’s doing. She was very quick in responding to my messages and very kind. My girl 🐕 came home the happiest. She had her best time there. I have rebooked this sitter for next month and will 💯 book her again in the near future. Can’t wait for my girl 🐕 go on another staycation at this sitter’s place. Cannot recommend enough. ❤️”

“Allison was amazing! Friendly, responsive, provided regular updates, and Lua came back to us relaxed, happy, and clearly very well cared-for. We couldn't have asked for better, and would definitely hire Allison again.”

“Did a great job to make my dogs feel comfortable and at home. One is kinda skiddish but he warmed up immediately. Would recommend to others and book again for sure.”

“Jake was very easy to communicate with and it was clear our pup was treated very well during her stay with him. We really appreciated him watching her on relatively short notice and we would definitely reach out to Jake again in the future.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Sewell
Kristin watched my dogs while I was on 2 almost back to back vacations (7 days and then 10 days with me being home 5 days in between). So they have stayed with her 3 different times now. They get all happy when I pull into the driveway. My one younger dog was doing zoomies going in and out of the house. They love going there, and I know that they are in very good hands. I will book again with Kristin next time I have to travel.

They continued to provide great care, to make sure our dog feels comfortable and loved. Communication is always clear, and we have complete peace of mind knowing everything is handled so professionally. We truly appreciate the dedication, and highly recommend their services to anyone looking for quality pet care.

Laurie was incredibly caring and loving. It’s always hard to find a new sitter you can trust to watch your dog, but she exceeded my expectations and made Daisy comfortable immediately. And her dog -Duke- is a sweetheart. I also appreciated the photo updates to ease my mind each day. Highly suggest!

Shannon is amazing! She has watched our dog Lily on prior vacations, but this was the first time she cared for both Lily and Buddy since we added him to our family. Both dogs stayed at her home and were comfortable, happy, and clearly well loved. We really appreciated the updates and felt total peace of mind knowing they were in great hands. We will absolutely continue booking with Shannon and highly recommend her!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
