“Jen was really awesome and very professional. She was very prompt in updating about my pet with nice pictures and my pet seems to love her and her family too.. we would definitely drop our pet again with Jen ..Highly recommended 👍👍”

“Jenny and her husband are the best dog sitters we’ve ever had! One of our pups got a little sick, and he they took every precaution to make sure he was okay. From calling the vet, sending us updates, and sleeping with him at night to make sure he was okay, they treated our dogs just like they were their own. They really put us at ease and we always know that our dogs are in good hands when they go to visit!”

“She was amazing! It was our first time using the service and we didn’t even have to check in on Noodle. She provided feedback daily without any required follow ups. We even received photos. We will is her again for sure!”
“Dierdre took great care of my dog, Baxter, from April 24–May 5. She sent frequent photo updates, and he was clearly happy and well cared for. Her family was warm and welcoming, and Baxter even bonded with their dog. Highly recommend her as a sitter.”

“Jennifer is super friendly and communicative and took fantastic care of my dog! Her family are all dog lovers and I felt like my fur child got all the care and attention she could have asked for. Highly recommend.”

“Susan was wonderful and very communicative! She welcomed my pup with open arms and it was a last minute booking. Susan was very flexible and made me feel comfortable leaving my pup with her. I am so grateful and will be booking again!!”

“Stacey was great with our little Rocky! We had such a great experience with her and it helped us feel at ease on short notice when our old sitter had to cancel! We will definitely be back! Would highly recommend to anyone who needs a safe place for their furbaby while away!”

About: I’ve owned and cared for cats, dogs, fish, rodents and reptiles for more than 45 years. I would be happy to share the love with your furry (or otherwise) family members too. I currently have a sheepadoodle that loves other dogs and people, so he would love to have a playmate to come and take walks and spend time with us. I currently work from home so I have plenty of freedom to spoil all the pets in my care. I do look after my 3 year old grandson sometimes so getting along with children would be an important quality if your pet should come to stay with me. I have a fenced yard and a very friendly sheepadoodle that gets along with both dogs and cats. We love to go on walks too.
“Aivy was amazing! I can’t say enough positive things. She took the best care of Herbie to the point I didn’t think he was going to want to come home. She sent tons of pictures and loved on him like he was her own.”

About: I have always had dogs in my life, from growing up with family dogs, owning my own, and dog sitting friends and my family's dogs. I have a large backyard, completely fenced, enjoy walking, and spending time outside. I have two teenage children who love dogs! I am a school teacher so able to board on weekends and summer months. A typical day includes at least one walk and access to the backyard freely all day long. I have a fenced in, large yard, and one dog to keep your pup playing and happy while they are here. I have one cat that is indoor/outdoor and tends to keep her distance:)
About: Attention to detail. Lots of love to give with kids grown and departed. We believe your animals are just as important as our friends and family. We work from home and have a small havanese dog as well as a small cat. Caring for another pup or two would be no problem at all! We have a fully fenced in back yard. A spacious home that is already dog friendly. And a very safe and beautiful neighborhood. Must be cat friendly. Lots of love and attention to give.
“Ashley was absolutely amazing!!!! We left our dog, Stella, with her for a week and a half while we got married and went on our honeymoon and felt like she was in the most capable hands possible. Ashley made sure we were kept up to date on everything and sent us plenty of pictures of our pup throughout the time she was there! She was extremely accommodating to us and made sure we felt comfortable with everything while we were away. When we picked Stella up she seemed extremely comfortable and at ease at Ashley’s house and around Ashley. We’re extremely grateful for Ashley and we will absolutely be using her again in the future. We 100% recommend Ashley for anyone looking to have a piece of mind while having to be away from your pet!”

“Tony is great with the littles, he’s got an awesome setup where they get time and room to play and socialize. You can tell he really enjoys taking care of the pups and will send lots of photos and videos of them enjoying their time! Mimi, our chihuahua mix, is slightly reserved in new situations by nature and Tony made her feel very comfortable and she ended up having a blast! Thank you!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Sewell
Kristin watched my dogs while I was on 2 almost back to back vacations (7 days and then 10 days with me being home 5 days in between). So they have stayed with her 3 different times now. They get all happy when I pull into the driveway. My one younger dog was doing zoomies going in and out of the house. They love going there, and I know that they are in very good hands. I will book again with Kristin next time I have to travel.

They continued to provide great care, to make sure our dog feels comfortable and loved. Communication is always clear, and we have complete peace of mind knowing everything is handled so professionally. We truly appreciate the dedication, and highly recommend their services to anyone looking for quality pet care.

Laurie was incredibly caring and loving. It’s always hard to find a new sitter you can trust to watch your dog, but she exceeded my expectations and made Daisy comfortable immediately. And her dog -Duke- is a sweetheart. I also appreciated the photo updates to ease my mind each day. Highly suggest!

Shannon is amazing! She has watched our dog Lily on prior vacations, but this was the first time she cared for both Lily and Buddy since we added him to our family. Both dogs stayed at her home and were comfortable, happy, and clearly well loved. We really appreciated the updates and felt total peace of mind knowing they were in great hands. We will absolutely continue booking with Shannon and highly recommend her!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
