âEileen took excellent care of our dog while my family was on vacation! We felt very confident the entire time we were away that he was safe, happy, and being well taken care of. We will definitely book again!â

âKavya and her husband were both very sweet and we were lucky to have them watch our puppy for her first Rover experience since adoption. Kavya checked in with us to let us know how she was doing and sent very cute pictures. We felt very comfortable with our puppy in their stay. Would highly recommend!â

âAnh was absolutely amazing!! She sent pics and updates and was immediately responsive anytime I reached out. Our booking was super last minute (Iâm talking 3 hours) and she agreed without hesitation! Our dog fit right in with them and their dogs. Would definitely recommend and would use her again in a heart beat!â

âYajaira was wonderful! She is so flexible, responsive, and caring. I felt so comfortable leaving our dogs with her and will definitely do so again in the future.â

â5 stars all the way. This was our first time leaving our dog with a sitter and we couldnât not be happier with the service and care we received. Our little Gunner has terrible anxiety and does not like to be alone ever since his sister passed away last year. Aivy took such good care of our Gunner. She was patient and kind and made sure she communicated with us on how Gunner was doing. We canât thank her enough and look forward to using her again. Thank you for your patience with our old man.â

âKristine is the absolute best! It's obvious that she truly loves what she does. She pays special attention to my Yorkie, Sparky, and is excellent with his care. She always sends daily updates and pics. I love how she keeps him on his schedule without fail. This was Sparky's 3rd time with Kristine. I highly recommend her! Thank you Kristine!â

âI would recommend John and Michelle to anyone looking to board their dog for any period of time. My dog can be anxious and they went out of their way to make sure she was comfortable. They were immediately responsive when I reached out and provided fun updates throughout her stay. I look forward to using them in the future.â
âCecily was very communicative about my dogs needs. She did a great job watching him and I felt totally at ease that my dog was in good hands. She seems to have a great knowledge of dogâs personalities and differing needs, and also seems to really enjoy spending time with the dogs !â

âAnnette and Martin watched our Niko over our four day vacation. From the moment we met them for the meet n greet, it was clear that they were the PERFECT hosts to watch our baby while we were gone. They clearly love the dogs they host and were communicative every step of the way. We received pictures and saw videos of Niko's vacation and never once felt sad that we had to "leave him". Upon pick up, Niko was very relaxed (not the normal hyper dog that we pick up). He was reluctant to leave and made his rounds to his new "FRIENDS" before we left (he usually cannot wait to leave). This was hands down the best experience we've ever had with any "boarding" and will not only will I recommend dogvacay.com but will give a glowing reference specific to Annette and Martin to every dog owner I know. We WILL book again with you guys! THANKS! ** Side note** This is the perfect host for a pet parent boarding for the first time. Annette and Martin are always available and very flexible. They were in constant communication with us. They realize your dog is your "child" and they treat them as if they were their children! If you are booking a vacation be sure to book with Bark and Breakfast Inn LLC!!â

âStacey was wonderful for chances first stay! Communication was easy. Stacey sent updates and pictures frequently. I felt an ease with chance there as I know she was giving him loving and care ! I be using her again!! She is great !!!â

âSusan was wonderful and very communicative! She welcomed my pup with open arms and it was a last minute booking. Susan was very flexible and made me feel comfortable leaving my pup with her. I am so grateful and will be booking again!!â

About: I grew up having tons of pets including cats dogs etc. I went to high-school majoring in agriculture where I focused on animal science . I just have a natural love for nature and animals. I am currently home full time so I have plenty of flexibility to work with your schedule and give your pet extra care and attention. I have a large fenced in yard so we can run and play in. I do live with one mixed husky who's very friendly and up to Date with his shots. Your pet would be need to be able to get along with other animals and 2 toddlers as well.
About: Iâve owned and cared for cats, dogs, fish, rodents and reptiles for more than 45 years. I would be happy to share the love with your furry (or otherwise) family members too. I currently have a sheepadoodle that loves other dogs and people, so he would love to have a playmate to come and take walks and spend time with us. I currently work from home so I have plenty of freedom to spoil all the pets in my care. I do look after my 3 year old grandson sometimes so getting along with children would be an important quality if your pet should come to stay with me. I have a fenced yard and a very friendly sheepadoodle that gets along with both dogs and cats. We love to go on walks too.

About: I have always had dogs in my life, from growing up with family dogs, owning my own, and dog sitting friends and my family's dogs. I have a large backyard, completely fenced, enjoy walking, and spending time outside. I have two teenage children who love dogs! I am a school teacher so able to board on weekends and summer months. A typical day includes at least one walk and access to the backyard freely all day long. I have a fenced in, large yard, and one dog to keep your pup playing and happy while they are here. I have one cat that is indoor/outdoor and tends to keep her distance:)

âI had a wonderful experience with my dog sitter and would highly recommend them. They took excellent care of my dog, kept me updated with photos and messages, and made sure all of my petâs needs were met. It gave me great peace of mind knowing my dog was in such caring and responsible hands. My dog came home happy, healthy, and well cared for. Itâs clear they genuinely love animals and treat them like their own. I will definitely be using their services again in the future!â

âHands down the most amazing sitter! The pictures and videos sent showed how loved my baby was. So much so when I came to pick her up. She greeted me and went right back into their home. Will 100% book with her again and highly recommendâ

âZoey had a wondefurful 5 night stay with David and Phyllis. Our very anxious pup made herself at home quickly and enjoyed all of the attention she got during her stay. This was Zoey's first time work David and Phyllis, but I'm sure it won't be her last. Thank you both for taking such great care of her!!â

I canât say enough amazing things about Deidre, her husband Chris, their kids, and their dog Cannoli! Our Ollie is afraid of most people and things, but they made him feel so welcome and he was calm and starting to open up during his stay with them. EXCELLENT communication from Deidre! We are so happy to have found another home for Ollie when we need one. Thank you so much for caring for our baby dog!!

I couldnât be happier with the care my dog received! I felt completely at ease knowing my dog was in good hands. John provided regular updates, photos, and communication throughout the stay, which gave me so much peace of mind. I highly recommend John to anyone looking for a trustworthy, reliable, and compassionate dog sitter. I would definitely book with him again.

Shannon is amazing! She has watched our dog Lily on prior vacations, but this was the first time she cared for both Lily and Buddy since we added him to our family. Both dogs stayed at her home and were comfortable, happy, and clearly well loved. We really appreciated the updates and felt total peace of mind knowing they were in great hands. We will absolutely continue booking with Shannon and highly recommend her!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justiceâs National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dogâs vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitterâs care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, youâre adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Roverâs reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
