“Thank you for taking great care of our puppy. From the moment we dropped him off we knew immediately that he was in great hands. We loved receiving updates with pictures of how he interacted with his new dog friends. He seemed to thoroughly be at home! I will most definitely book with Stacey in the future!”

“We attended a wedding over a weekend and Katherine and John were so welcoming to Zoey! We contacted them for a meet and greet and they were very agreeable. They were accomadating to our quirky schedule and very easy to work with. Zoey had a fantastic time at their home and we enjoyed the photos and updates sent to us . This was our first Rover experience and I’d say it was a success and hope to use Katherine and John again in the near future”

“I recused an 11-year-old Westie. He came to me with separation anxiety and you could see why it was hard to leave him. I’ve had him a year now and every time I leave him the little dog panics he is getting much better so I decided to go away for six days and try to find a good dog Sitter so I could plan other vacations I remember finding Laurie last year but she was booked so I tried her again it was like leaving my precious Charlie with a family member. She has a Labradoodle Duke that they got along so well I think that helped Charlie adjust to be in separated. I don’t think he ever got home sick , she took such great care of him. I can’t say enough I would give her more than five stars if there were 10, she was so excellent with my Westie and he was so good and relaxed. Every day she sent me pictures I almost was afraid he wouldn’t want to come home , Laurie I will be back and I know Charlie will be happy to see you”

“I’m so glad I found Carrie! She was awesome with my LILO. I was so nervous about leaving my dog with strangers who did not know her and vice-versa but after Carrie told me of all the animals she had I knew she was an animal lover and we would be in good hands. I was right. Will definitely use her again!!”

“Raquel took great care of our dog Lilo while we were out of town and needed a last minute sitter. She sent plenty of updates and pictures and Lilo had a lot of fun playing with her dog, Sadie!”
“This was the first time boarding my dog. Ashley was wonderful. She sent daily updates and pictures. My dog actually did not want to leave as she had so much fun. I will definitely use Ashley again.”

“Mack is a new member of my family. I was very concerned about leaving him as he was only with me for 2 months. He was just 1 1/2 yrs. He is still working on his manners. Michelle was patient and attentive. She sent updates, pictures and videos. Mack was exhausted coming home, so I know his experience was a good one. 5 stars. Thanks Michelle.”
“Liliana was so great with Bingo and I felt really confident he was being taken care of and cared for. I was updated, and questions were answered very quickly. I highly recommend Liliana with your pet if you want peace of mind.”

“Dave and Phyllis are very attentive and caring. I know my baby is getting babied when he is with them, and they are flexible and accommodating. They alerted me that my dog’s allergies had begun to merit medical attention when I came to pick him up.”

“Steven was great with my dog Luckee. He accommodated my last minute booking request and Luckee had the best time during his stay! Steven was very knowledgeable about dogs and I didn’t have any concerns whatsoever. I would definitely use him again.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
