“Ashley is literally the best pet sitter I've ever had! I trust her more than I do my family to watch my boy Fizz :) Fizz had such a great time and I can absolutely tell that he was well taken care of while I was away for a week. I was so comfortable leaving him with Ashley because she's very knowledgeable of dog behavior and you can tell she has a lot of experience with both big and small dogs. I'm always nervous leaving Fizz with someone new because I'm such a worry wort and he sometimes doesn't remember his own size while he's playing (lol) but I knew I made the right decision by choosing Ashley for our boarding needs. Fizz can be a nervous boy, but she helped him feel right at home and treated him like her own pup. Thank you so much and we will definitely be booking again! :)”

“Ashley and her family were extremely welcoming to our 2 dogs. Beautiful home and yard for the dogs to run in. Very accommodating with drop off and pick up times. Will definitely book again!”
“Zoey had another great vacation with David and Phyllis! We are very grateful for the love and great care they gave her, and they will be our first choice for the future. To be honest, I think Zoey is a little sad to be home and misses them!!”

“Brineydi was great! She sent me pictures and updates everyday, that put us in a lot of ease while traveling. She was patient and gave Apple extra care on the first day he was a bit nervous. I would definitely rebook with her again.”

“Monica and Conrad did a great job watching over Murph. He really seemed to fit in with Pongo. I liked hearing the updates too. I’ll be going back to them in the future for more boardings.”

“This was our first experience using Rover.com. and we were so fortunate to have had Michelle as our dog sitter. Initially, we had some concerns as our dog has never been away from us. However, Michelle is a true animal lover! She took care of our Boxer for a week. We received daily updates with pictures and/or videos all of which showed she had great interaction with our dog as well as the others. We highly recommend Michelle and will definitely book with her in the future.”
“Absolutely amazing! This the first time I left my dog since rescuing him and his anxiety gave me anxiety 😅. Kristina was great she answered all my questions, she was so kind when I asked stupid ones. She kept my dog safe and happy. She also works with reactive dogs great! Would recommend! Can't say it enough she is amazing!”

“Aivy was amazing! I can’t say enough positive things. She took the best care of Herbie to the point I didn’t think he was going to want to come home. She sent tons of pictures and loved on him like he was her own.”

“Kara was absolutely amazing! Our dog had such a great time with her during our vacation and she kept us updated and informed every step of the way. We WILL be using her again :)”

“Hali did an amazing job taking care of my fur baby, Butter! Butter can sometimes be anxious in new environments and around new people, and he needs time to adjust before getting comfortable. Hali was extremely caring and understanding of his need to acclimate and was very patient and attentive to his needs. Throughout Butter’s stay, she kept me updated with regular check-ins and photos, which gave me peace of mind knowing that he was comfortable and in great hands. I highly recommend Hali to anyone who is looking for a caring and attentive caretaker for their fur babies!”

“Mónica is so sweet and is very dependable. She took care of my baby and sent me pics of him which was so comforting.... I will definitely go back to her again!!!!!!”
“Jeslyn was so sweet! She arrived at the car with treats to pick up my pup, and kept her comfortable and was well taken care of. Great communicator, I received plenty of pictures throughout her stay. Will definitely book again!”

“Eric and Raz are our favorite dog sitters. They clearly love and care about our dog and we always feel 100% confident that she is well cared for with them. They give her lots of cuddles and have a good sense of her needs. It’s always a pleasure.”

“Rhea and her husband were absolutely incredible! They were so accommodating and communicative throughout the entire sitting. They sent constant picture updates, kept me informed about potty breaks, and asked thoughtful questions to make sure my pup was comfortable. Most impressively, they always responded in under a minute—such peace of mind. This was by far one of the best experiences I’ve had on Rover, and I’m so glad we connected. They’re true professionals who are clearly passionate about what they do. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for loving, reliable care.”

“Zyiana was great! She was so flexible to accommodate my travel times. She sent great pics and videos during updates giving me great peace of mind while I was away.”

“Stephanie is amazing!! Our dog loves her which makes it so much easier to leave him!! She sends updates throughout the day which we love!! No better feeling than being able to trust someone with your pup!! Thanks Stephanie for always taking such good care of Tyson!!”

Isis was amazing at communicating since our meet and greet! Her prices were reasonable and her schedule really helped keep our mind at ease knowing Louie wouldn’t be lonely. She kept us updated with pictures throughout his stay. We picked Louie up and he was excited to see us but just as excited to see Isis when she grabbed his things. We easily could tell he loved spending time with her. Will definitely be rebooking for our next vacation!

While we were away on vacation, Kim and Barb took great care of Brewzer at Camp Mimi. They sent us pictures and videos of Brewzer each day, so that we could see he was having such a wonderful time relaxing and roaming their beautiful home and yard. Seeing Brewzer having so much fun and being well taken care of at Camp Mimi, allowed us to have a wonderful and relaxing time on vacation. We will definitely request Kim and Barb to watch Brewzer for our next vacation and highly recommend them for watching your dog.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
