“Did a great job to make my dogs feel comfortable and at home. One is kinda skiddish but he warmed up immediately. Would recommend to others and book again for sure.”

“What an amazing experience! I was so apprehensive about getting a dog sitter because my dog does not do well with other dogs. Janet totally made me feel at ease. She totally accommodated my dogs needs. Not only that but I received a video, while I was away, with my dog having a great time playing. It was exactly what I needed. I highly recommend Janet and Mr. Kyle gives her an A++!!”

“It’s always hard to leave your pups but we felt completely comfortable leaving them with Rose for a few days. She is truly a dog lover and spoiled and pampered our two dogs. When she said she loved having them, I believed her. Look forward to using her again for a couple short trips we are planning.”

“Katie was great with my Simba. He's a big dog, but she was completely comfortable with him. He was so happy in her home for the three nights that he stayed. Everything went smoothly. Katie kept me updated with how he was doing and sent photos of him daily. Thank you Katie!! It was a relief to not have to worry about him while we were away.”

“MIchelle took good care of Rocky and we are pleased that she was available for our vacation. Additionally, Michelle gave us some excellent training tips and a great leash recommendation. We will certainly use her again next time. Thank you!”

“Kelsey and Conor took great care of Rosie! Kelsey was so nice to communicate with and responded quickly to messages. Her dogs were so friendly and greeted Rosie so kindly right away! I would definitely book with Kelsey and Conor again. They made me feel like my dog was one of their own!”

“Dierdre took great care of my dog, Baxter, from April 24–May 5. She sent frequent photo updates, and he was clearly happy and well cared for. Her family was warm and welcoming, and Baxter even bonded with their dog. Highly recommend her as a sitter.”

“Amber was awesome with our dog, Winnie. She gave updates daily and you could tell Winnie was having a great time and was well looked after. Would 100% recommend and will definitely be using her to watch Winnie in the future.”

“Kristen and her family was very welcoming to my baby Oreo. The communication was both prompt and clear. She sent many pictures of Oero the whole time. I definitely would recommend her. And hopefully we can use her again.”

“Stacey is wonderful:) I can have a peace of mind knowing my baby doggie is in a safe place where she will treat your pup as one of her own. Will definitely rebook with her again!”

“Susan was wonderful and very communicative! She welcomed my pup with open arms and it was a last minute booking. Susan was very flexible and made me feel comfortable leaving my pup with her. I am so grateful and will be booking again!!”

“I have never felt so secure leaving my babies with someone else! Aubrey is thorough, caring, informed, and trustworthy!! My 6y and 6m dogs had a blast and I could not be happier 🤩”

“I can’t begin to describe what a pleasant experience this was all around. My partner and I have had the same Rover doggy-god-mother for about 2.5 years and she recently moved to NYC and we were desperate and scared to find a loving caretaker for our pups. Sarah and Anthony are the definition of doggy heaven! We were so anxious and they were willing to do a meet and greet with us two weeks before the scheduled overnight stay! It was an instant click! Their apartment is beautiful and the yard is a godsend! During the actual stay Sarah was amazing with updates and pictures that really helped to ease our anxiety. The at the end of the stay, when we thought it couldn’t get better, they came home with a letter from the pups detailing their visit and their experience! Wow! Beyond impressed with Sarah and Anthony! Bambina and Bruno will be back very very Soon! Thanks for existing you lovely ”humans” as the dogs call ya on the letter (haha!)”

About: I’m a huge animal lover! I have over four years of solid experience taking care of my own two cats, Sushi and Miso. I know firsthand what it takes to keep pets happy, from setting up a comfy spot for a nap to handling feeding schedules and making sure the litter box is spotless. While my background is strongly in cat sitting, I bring patience, calm demeanor, and loving attention to any pet I care for. If your pet needs a chill, responsible, and detail-oriented sitter, I'm your person! As a full-time NYU student and part-time tutor, I am highly organized and responsible. During the upcoming semester, I offer flexible morning, evening, and weekend availability.I ready to dedicate all my time to your pet! When caring for your pet in your home, I prioritize respect, safety, and a calm presence. I always ensure all doors and gates are securely locked upon arrival and departure. I strictly adhere to all feeding, medication, and playtime instructions you provide. You can expect regular updates and photos—I treat your home and your pet with the same care and attention I give to my own cats, Sushi and Miso.
About: Pet Care Experience I’ve had the joy of caring for dogs of all ages, from playful puppies to sweet seniors who need a little extra love and patience. I’ve helped with walks, feeding, giving meds, and of course plenty of belly rubs and cuddle time. I treat every dog like they’re my own, making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. What Sets Me Apart I really take the time to get to know each dog’s personality and quirks. Whether it’s helping a puppy learn good habits, supporting an older dog who moves at a slower pace, or sticking to a routine to keep your pup comfortable, I always adjust to what your dog needs. I also pay close attention to little details—like favorite toys, treats, or special instructions—so you can feel at ease knowing your best friend is in caring hands. Since I work from home, I have plenty of flexibility to give your dog the attention they deserve throughout the day. I can easily step away for walks, playtime, or check-ins, and I love having the company of dogs while I work. Whether it’s sticking to a set feeding and potty schedule or adding in some extra cuddle breaks, I’m able to keep your pup’s routine consistent and stress-free. Your dog’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. In my care, I make sure they’re in a secure and pet-friendly environment—free of hazards, with plenty of space to relax and play. I always follow your instructions closely, whether it’s diet, medication, or special routines, so your pup feels right at home. When caring for dogs in a client’s home, I treat the space with the same respect as I would my own. I keep doors locked, routines consistent, and make sure your dog feels safe and loved until you return. Building trust is important to me, so I provide updates, photos, and quick check-ins to give you peace of mind while you’re away.
“Our dog Winnie had a wonderful week long stay ! We received daily updates and really enjoyed seeing how comfortable she was at John and Nicole’s house ! They were also very accommodating to her needs and changes we had in our trip.”

“Zoey had a wondefurful 5 night stay with David and Phyllis. Our very anxious pup made herself at home quickly and enjoyed all of the attention she got during her stay. This was Zoey's first time work David and Phyllis, but I'm sure it won't be her last. Thank you both for taking such great care of her!!”

Cecily was amazing! This was my first time boarding my cats so I was extremely nervous going into this & she made the process as stress-free as possible. My plans changed a few times & each time she was very willing to work with me. My boys both seemed to adjust to their time with her easily. She kept in contact with me throughout the entire time & sent pictures daily. My 1 boy won't eat unless I stay with him as he's afraid his brother will steal his food & she was willing to accommodate their needs. I most likely have another trip coming up this summer & I will absolutely use Cecily again, if our schedules align.

I’m so grateful I found her last minute! She was incredibly kind and made Pookie feel comfortable right away. You can tell she genuinely cares about the pets she takes in. She even helped put his harness on before pickup—which is not easy at all with him—so that was such a huge help. I highly recommend her!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
