“This was my first time using Rover for pet sitting and Nicole couldn’t have been a better choice! She is well experienced with a wide range of dogs and my dog was immediately comfortable with her. She kept me updated and took great care of my pup. Thanks Nicole!”

About: Attention to detail. Lots of love to give with kids grown and departed. We believe your animals are just as important as our friends and family. We work from home and have a small havanese dog as well as a small cat. Caring for another pup or two would be no problem at all! We have a fully fenced in back yard. A spacious home that is already dog friendly. And a very safe and beautiful neighborhood. Must be cat friendly. Lots of love and attention to give.
“It was such a blessing to have found Katie to take care of our pup. This was Leo's first time being cared for by someone who is not a member of our immediate family, so I wasn't sure how he would handle his visit. But I'm happy to say, it was a smooth and stress-free experience for us all. Thank you Katie, for taking care of Leo!!”

“We had a wonderful experience with Hali as a dog sitter. The communication was great from the beginning and was easy and reassuring. She took great care of Ruby and even watched her as a 5 month old puppy. She sent pictures and videos of Ruby enjoying her time outside in her fenced in yard. She responded quickly to my check ins and made me feel comfortable leaving her. Ruby was happy and calm when we picked her up and I would highly recommend Hali as your dog sitter. I will be using her again when I need a dog sitter.”

About: I love animals of all kinds. I had my own dog for 8 years since it was a puppy. 3 years ago, I adopted a rescued kitten. My daughter and I frequent AWA and Animal Orphanage to meet animals. Your pet will be safe, loved and well cared for with me. I am currently home full-time, so your pet will have my attention all day long. Your pet will accompany me taking a walk on a trail and have a play time in the afternoon outside, weather permitting. I live in a two-story townhouse/condominium with a public yard space on a safe and quiet street. Your pet will have an access to outdoor anytime throughout the day on a leash. I have a cat that is very shy, who won't bother your pet. My child (9 years) loves animals and is very gentle and caring as well.
“David did a wonderful job watching my pup! He sent pictures of her everyday along with updates. She seemed very happy when we saw her afterwards. I’d trust him with her again!”

“Cecily was very communicative about my dogs needs. She did a great job watching him and I felt totally at ease that my dog was in good hands. She seems to have a great knowledge of dog’s personalities and differing needs, and also seems to really enjoy spending time with the dogs !”

“I love going to Sheree to care for my dog. She is patient and very loving with my pup. She was even kind enough to drop my girl off to me when we were unable to pick her up on time. I can't recommend Sheree enough”

“I just cannot say enough good things about Amy and her care for my pup Beau. Above all else, Amy and Beau really connected, and seeing how comfortable and relaxed he was with her and her family gave me the ability enjoy my trip. Amy sent pictures of Beau enjoying his stay at least once a day. So glad to finally have found my dog person!”

“Amber was awesome with our dog, Winnie. She gave updates daily and you could tell Winnie was having a great time and was well looked after. Would 100% recommend and will definitely be using her to watch Winnie in the future.”

“I cannot say enough great things about Kara. This was our first time boarding with her and it was the best experience. She was responsive and kind! We met prior to my dog boarding with her and he loved her and her dogs. During his stay, she provided daily updates even with pictures which was a nice touch and she was very responsive if I messaged her. My dog was so happy to be there and seems like he felt at home which was important to me. When I picked him up, he was so tired from all the playing! Thank you so much Kara! Oliver would love to stay with you again.”

“Michelle did a great job giving my dog special attention with her separation anxiety issues. She was attentive and stayed in contact with us the whole weekend. Michelle even slept in the bed with my dog and a few others so that my dog wouldn’t cry through the night! That’s going the extra mile! Michelle’s property is very spacious and her home is beautiful! Thanks, again, Michelle for working with Pebbles to help her have an enjoyable stay!”

“Stephanie was absolutely amazing with Brody! We had a trip planned to Florida and ended up having to extend due to a snow, and she was so accommodating and flexible with the extra time we needed. It gave us such peace of mind during a stressful change of plans. She consistently provided updates and the sweetest photos and videos, which meant so much to us. Being able to see how happy and comfortable Brody was made it so much easier to be away. When we picked him up, he was as happy as if he had just spent the day at the dog park with all his friends, smiling, tail wagging, and clearly so well cared for. That says everything. 🐶 We’re so grateful for how attentive and loving she was with him. I would absolutely trust Stephanie with Brody again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable sitter!”

“Janet & Ken were awesome with our girl Abby! Send us videos and photos. Made us feel completely comfortable right from the first time we met them. I highly recommend them!”

About: I have taken care of dogs since 5 years ago helping friends and family when they needed help. I always had a connection with dogs and love to take care of them. I have a part-time job that gives me time to take care of pets weekdays and weekends mostly in the mornings. I can accommodate my schedule too. I make sure that all the necessities and schedules any dog has are completed before leaving, making sure the dog feels comfortable and safe are my top priorities.
“I’ve boarded Murphy with April and her family 2x and it’s been a great experience. She always keeps me up to date with how he’s doing and he takes very long naps when he gets home - that tells me he had a lot of fun. Murphy is looking forward to his next stay!!!”

5 stars all the way. Our Gunner is old and has terrible anxiety when left alone. Danielle truly went out of her way to make him feel comfortable. She sent us daily pictures and updates which was so appreciated. He looked so comfortable and happy. I would highly recommend Danielle 100%.

I can’t stress enough how important it is to feel comfortable leaving your fur baby with someone when you’re on vacation. That being said Jenny and her family took such good care of my puppy Teddy. When I saw the pics each day I could see the love she gives to her fur clients. I had a nice vacation knowing he was living his best life with Jenny. I highly recommend if you need a like home environment Jenny will not let you down. I definitely will only use Jenny in the future. Thanks Jenny Teddy will miss you💙

Probably our fourth stay with Annette and Martin. They are fantastic! Our very active, friendly spaniel loves them and we get pictures and reels that show us just how comfortable and happy he is. Pretty sure he gets so much attention he thinks he's on vacation. I can't see why would use anyone else.

Marcus and Nicki are such a sweet couple and cared for Kyrie very well. I was particularly grateful because the request was a bit last minute, but they were so understanding. It was clear they had a lot of experience with dogs and knew how to care for our very anxious Kyrie 🥹 They had great communication and sent cute images of her over the weekend. I’m thankful our dog was in capable and caring hands!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
