“David did a wonderful job watching my pup! He sent pictures of her everyday along with updates. She seemed very happy when we saw her afterwards. I’d trust him with her again!”

“Eric was the BEST! I went international for 10 days and never had to worry. Joey came back happy and I knew he was loved. Thank you, Eric! Consider yourself added to my Rover rolodex. :)”

“Hali did a great job taking care of Bonnie. I’m always nervous leaving my dog with another caregiver. Hali did everything she could put me at ease including sending me multiple pictures a day showing me the Bonnie was doing well. She had a nice big backyard for Bonnie to play in. Her children played very sweetly with Bonnie. I would be happy to let Bonnie stay there again.”

“Hilary and Sam (and kids) were absolutely wonderful with Jaxon. I love their energy and their home is beautiful & perfect for pups! They’re loving, communicative and friendly. 10/10 recommend! Jaxon will most definitely be back to visit ☺️???”

“Tony was so great. Thank you!!!!!! House was very clean and he sent videos. We really appreciate it and will come back if our dog is with us for a birds or phils game. Go birds!”

“Susan was wonderful and very communicative! She welcomed my pup with open arms and it was a last minute booking. Susan was very flexible and made me feel comfortable leaving my pup with her. I am so grateful and will be booking again!!”

“OMG! Alyssa and Marcus were amazing!!! It was Sam's first time being away from home. I was super nervous because he can get a little anxious and I didn't know how he would adjust to being away from home. We thought about it over some time and Alyssa and Marcus were able to accomodate our plans last minute. Before the reservation was even finalized, they were so helpful and reassuring. They kept me updated throughout his stay with so many pictures and reassurances. It really put my mind at ease. Sam had such a good time with Zara, Alyssa, and Marcus...I think he was upset he had to leave! I can't imagine sending him anywhere else. I definitely weill be booking with them again.”

“Wonderful experience with this awesome sitter! I felt totally at ease leaving my dog with her even though she's still young and this was her first time away from home. I could tell she was totally at ease and had had a great time and she conked right out on the couch when we got home which is no small accomplishment! Nicole was really accommodating to our travel itinerary and you can tell she really knows what she's doing! Would 100% recommend and book again.”

“Stacey and her fiance are awesome. We always feel so comfortable leaving our Monty boy there for vacation. He is an only furchild (lol) so loves hanging with his doggy friends when he gets to visit!”

“Madeline was wonderful with my dog Charlie. He is often very timid with new people and dogs, but he seemed to adjust well to Madeline's home. She sent lots of updates and photos, and he looked very happy. It was my first time using Rover, and I will definitely ask Madeline to take care of Charlie again when I need to travel in the future.”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better person to care for our dog over the weekend. From the moment we met, we felt completely at ease knowing our furry family member was in such loving and capable hands. We received updates and photos, which made us smile and reassured us that our dog was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. It’s clear that they genuinely love animals and treat them like their own. We came home to a happy, relaxed pup, and that means everything to us. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and dependable dog sitter. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of our dog!”

About: I can’t remember a time I didn’t have a pet of some sort under my care! From dogs, to birds, to fish, to frogs, I’ve really done it all! While I don’t have a furry friend of my own yet in vet school, I would love to take yours in and treat them like my own. I’ve already dedicated my life to the wellbeing of animals—why not include yours in that too! I’m currently a veterinary student so my schedule is a bit dynamic! I’m free 24/7 over the summer, but starting in September my availability shifts to evenings and weekends. Over the winter I will have more times open again! I live in a residential area with sidewalks (and a park!) perfect for daily walks, and I even have a fenced-in yard for extra play time. No other furry friends currently—so all of my attention will be on your baby!
“I’ve boarded Murphy with April and her family 2x and it’s been a great experience. She always keeps me up to date with how he’s doing and he takes very long naps when he gets home - that tells me he had a lot of fun. Murphy is looking forward to his next stay!!!”

“There are not enough words to express how my dog related to Laurie and her entire family. I felt so comfortable leaving my little guy there; He had so much fun. When we returned for a second visit, he knew immediatly where we were going upon turning onto Laurie's street and he became so excited. Upon seeing Laurie, he greeted her with all the love in the world. Wonderful experience!! Best decision ever!”

“Chris treated our dogs like they were his own. He sent me multiple pictures during their stay that helped ease my mind while away. Our dogs returned home happy and healthy after being with Chris. I would definitely trust him with my dogs again. Highly recommend!”

“My pup had a great time with Kiersten and her fur babies. So much fun that she came home at 1pm and slept through dinner. Kiersten was very warm and welcoming to my high energy Rottweiler. I would definitely recommend this sitter.”

I would recommend John and Michelle to anyone looking to board their dog for any period of time. My dog can be anxious and they went out of their way to make sure she was comfortable. They were immediately responsive when I reached out and provided fun updates throughout her stay. I look forward to using them in the future.
Kelsey & Conor were amazing with George!! He settled in immediately with their two dogs, Brody and Beans, and had the best week ever. Daily walks, constant play, and by the end he was lounging on their furniture like he owned the place. They sent photos and updates without us having to ask, and were very flexible with drop-off and pickup over a busy holiday week. He came home happy and completely worn out. Could not recommend them more!!

5 stars all the way. Our Gunner is old and has terrible anxiety when left alone. Danielle truly went out of her way to make him feel comfortable. She sent us daily pictures and updates which was so appreciated. He looked so comfortable and happy. I would highly recommend Danielle 100%.

Melissa is amazing!! She was able to fit us in on short notice, and right from the meet and greet, Rusty was immediately comfortable with her. She has such a nice yard for dogs to play and relax too! Rusty also seemed really happy and well cared for at pickup. I would definitely book with her again!!

Dana was Odin’s first time staying overnight somewhere that wasn’t home; and he LOVED it. He was obviously well cared for and tended to while we were gone. Dana sent an abundance of pictures and videos of him to keep us updated. Dana’s family, house and yard is well suited for dogs of all ages and sizes.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
