“Kanade went above and beyond- Riley got so much fetch and cuddles in. She keeps you consistently updated with photos and summaries of the day.”

“Stephanie was great - we did a meet and greet and then had our kiddos with her for the weekend. They came back happy and tired from all the fun. She was communicative and super friendly. Will absolutely book her again. Thanks Stephanie!”
“David did a wonderful job watching my pup! He sent pictures of her everyday along with updates. She seemed very happy when we saw her afterwards. I’d trust him with her again!”

“I used Hilary and Sam to take care of my beloved furry friend while I went on vacation, and I couldn’t be happier with the service provided. They demonstrated exceptional professionalism and genuine affection for my dog. Their communication was excellent, providing regular updates and even sending pictures of my pup having a great time. I wholeheartedly recommend them and hopefully they will have space available when I schedule my next vacation.”

“Eric and his wife are absolutely fantastic with my cat. They've taken the best care of him as well as helping him get over his fear of strangers. He always comes back well groomed and happy!”

“Alex communicated through the app with great response time. He was available immediately at drop off and pick up. Zeke appeared to be well taken care of and his normal self when I picked him up.”

“Kerry and Peter are the greatest of all time. We are literally writing them into our Will to take care of our dog if anything happens to us. Blue was just as happy as could be to be spending time with them. They are the best people.”

“I loved using Haley as my pet sitter and will continue to do so ! It was my first time using Rover and she made the experience perfect as can be, she sent pictures all throughout the day of my three cats, very communicative, and was absolutely the sweetest. I am very pleased with her pet services !”

“Cynthia went above and beyond for my doberman puppy Dottie, treated her like a true part of the family, equipped with her very own couch. I was very anxious because this was the longest we had been apart, and Cynthia constantly eased my worries by sending me daily updates and even agreeing to face time. Dottie has bad separation anxiety but didn't even seem to miss me when with Cynthia. Cynthia was constantly responsive and always reached out to me for approval before doing anything. I will definitely be booking with her again when I go away and I 100% recommend her service to anyone having the same worries. If this is your first time using Rover or you are just looking for a new sitter, then please give Cynthia your service, you can tell she is very passionate about animals and you won't regret it!”

“Aubrey took very good care of our dog. When we picked him up he obviously came to us but kept looking what she was doing and wagging his tale when she approached him - always a good sign! 🙂 we received daily updates and pictures and felt he is in a very good place. Yard is awesome for dogs and her dog is very friendly too! Highly recommended!!!”

“Archer had a great stay with Elizabeth! We got plenty of photos and updates while we were away and could tell how much fun he was having. He was well taken care of!”

About: My love for dogs is endless. I've been involved in dog rescue for over 12 years. The fun dogs, the shy dogs, the dogs with no direction and the perfect dogs, dogs of all ages. A very quiet home with playtime if they want it or quiet time that they need. I provide lots of enrichment and a full secure yard where they can run and play, or just sun bathe. I have been dog sitting for years and I've also been a part of a dog rescue where I've seen everything. Each one of our family members deserves love and respect and a little extra when their family is on vacation. It should be a relaxing time for our canine family too! I pride myself on the reaction of my visitors when they come back over and over!!! My schedule allows me to give your family members all the time and attention they could ask for in my home. I never want your furry family to feel like they aren't comfortable and I will engage with them as much or as little as they would like while giving them the space they need if they choose. I have a fully fenced in yard, but no one is out in the yard unattended. I also have the ability to completely separate dogs with separate exits/entrances. All dogs are able to go on couches and dog beds throughout the house and if they need their own space, I have that capability as well. The separated room has it's own tv, couch and is where I spend most of my day working. If your pup(s) is friendly, they are able to keep us company throughout the house. Smoke-free home.
“I highly recommend David and Phyllis! They’re great people and really love dogs. We are so grateful to have them watch our dog, Toby!! Toby love’s going to their house which gives us a lot of piece of mind.”

“Tamara took such amazing, loving care of my 10 year old dog, cooper! She gave him a lot of attention, potty breaks, playtime, and adhered to his medicine and feeding schedule perfectly. She is a very sweet person and animal lover and I’m so grateful I found her through rover. I’ll definitely be rebooking Tamara!”

“As usual, Erika did a great job taking care of Myra and making my vacation even more relaxing knowing my pet was in good hands the whole time. Erika always provides picture updates to prove how comfortable your dog is in her home during the stay. Can't recommend her enough.”

“Mel was amazing with our pup! Yumi boarded overnight with her and her dog, they matched energies so well and had a great time together. Mel sent tons of pictures and kept us up to date on her eating habits since we have a pup with a sensitive tum. Would definitely recommend Mel and book again!”

“This was my Akita’s first time boarding (and first time being away from me) and Brigette was so wonderful, patient, and kind with her, even when my dog was a big stinker about eating and going outside. My dog is quite quirky (as Akitas are wont to be), and Brigette handled her expertly. Brigette is also extremely personable and warm, so on a human level I enjoyed meeting her, too! I’d recommend her to anyone.”

“Jennifer is super friendly and communicative and took fantastic care of my dog! Her family are all dog lovers and I felt like my fur child got all the care and attention she could have asked for. Highly recommend.”

Melissa was amazing! She boarded my dogs for a few days, and the entire process was easy, straightforward, and stress-free from start to finish. She was kind, friendly, and clearly cared about making sure my dogs were comfortable and well taken care of. It gave me peace of mind knowing they were in good hands while I was away. I would definitely recommend Melissa to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again!

David and Phyllis were wonderful in accommodating our unique situation and went above and beyond to make sure Cassie felt comfortable in their home. Communication was excellent—not only with us but also with our friend who had been caring for Cassie during the month. They kept us well informed and made sure we received updates on how Cassie was doing, which gave us great peace of mind. We truly appreciated their kindness, flexibility, and the loving care they gave Cassie.

Stephen and his family took wonderful care of our two pups while we were away on a two week vacation. I really appreciated the frequent photos and updates, which made it clear that our dogs were having a great time and felt at home. They returned from their stay happy and tired from all the time they spent playing in Stephen’s backyard. I know they will be excited to stay with Stephen and his family the next time we go away. 😊

Our dogs had an amazing time with Hendry! He was very patient with our more nervous pup, even when the super hot weather made it all the more challenging to get some of his energy out — Hendry was patient, kind, and sent updates every step of the way. Both dogs settled in well, and that’s a testament to Hendry’s patience and care for them. We would absolutely rebook in the future!

So happy I found this website and Jayanna! She did an amazing job and made my dog feel comfortable, even though she was very nervous around the other dogs at first. Jayanna was patient and caring. She sent us photos and videos throughout the stay without us even having to ask, which gave us great peace of mind. She was also extremely flexible and accommodating, especially since our booking request was made only two hours in advance. I highly recommend her and will definitely use her services again! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Lindsey is truly the best when it comes to taking care of my Guinness! I can’t thank her enough for being able to accommodate my last minute schedule updates and additional time requests. I know he is getting the attention and exercise he deserves. I would highly recommend for any of your short or long term services.

Nikki is the best! She was immediately so understanding, open to learning, and accommodating to all of my dog’s quirks and needs, which made me feel much more comfortable boarding him for a few days. Alfie was definitely in great hands and we will be reaching out for future boarding needs! Thank you so much Nikki! 😊

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
