“We've used Rover for a while now, and Stephanie has truly been our favorite sitter. She took amazing care of our dog, Lola, and went above and beyond to keep us updated throughout the weekend. We loved getting regular pictures and updates—it gave us so much peace of mind knowing Lola was happy and well cared for. Stephanie also left a sweet note before she left, summarizing how the weekend went and sharing little details about Lola's behavior and activities. It was such a thoughtful touch and really showed how much she cared. We can't recommend her enough. If you're looking for someone who treats your pup like their own, Stephanie is the one!”

“Maggie did excellent house sitting for our cats and dog. She kept in touch the whole time, sent lots of pictures, and left the house very clean. We highly recommend Maggie.”

“Not sure who liked her more our dog or us!!! Sammie is amazing! Followed the directions for our dog down to the very finest detail. She communicates often and clearly and took care of everything we needed. We highly recommend Sammie and will calling her in the future!”

“We’re so glad we found Elizabeth! We felt at ease leaving the dogs with them because they are caring. They sent updates, pictures, and videos of our dogs which gave us peace of mind. We were a little bit worried because one of our dogs is a rescue who does not trust people immediately, but he felt so comfortable with Elizabeth and they were great with him. We’re lucky to have found Elizabeth on rover and hope to have them watch our dogs again in the future! Thank you Elizabeth!”

“What a wonderful experience with Marnesha. She took care of Rowdy while I was on a mini-vacation. When I came back, Rowdy told me he felt like he was on vacation under Marnesha's care. He is an elder pup and Marnesha made sure he got all his required medicines and vitamins. You will not be disappointed with the care that her and her beautiful dog, Sebastian, will provide. Thank you Marnesha.”

“Victoria was great! She showed up on time and gave us updates throughout the day to let us know everything was going good. It was so nice having peace of mind that our Jinny was being taken care of and not alone:) Thank you, Victoria!”

“Gretchen was great! One of our dogs recently started having some health issues so we were worried about leaving him. But Gretchen replied quickly and communicated often, even sending cute pics :) which definitely made our trip a little easier to enjoy. We would absolutely recommend her to watch your furry friend!”

“Yelena was great! She was amazing with our pups, especially our Marlo who has a ruff background. She left the house cleaner than when we left and she was great about keeping us updated since this was our first time using rover and we were nervous about our babies! Will 100% be using Yelena again(:”

“Thank you so much for watching over our babies. I felt super comfortable since we did do a meet and greet before the actual babysitting. She sent pictures every day and we really did feel like they were in great hands. Will definitely book again.❤️🙏🏼”

“Madison was absolutely amazing! She watched Ellie for my boyfriend and me while we were on a trip, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Ellie adored her from the start! Madison kept us well-informed the entire time and sent plenty of photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. She followed all of our instructions perfectly and even went above and beyond to make sure Ellie was happy and well-cared for. We will *definitely* be using Madison again. She truly is the sweetest, most caring girl, and we’re so grateful we found her! ❤️”

“Maddison was an excellent house and dog sitter! She was very easy to communicate with, took great care of our dogs and left our house in amazing shape! We will definitely use her again!”

“Kayla was absolutely wonderful taking care of our two big dogs. She exuded kindness, earnestness, and responsibility. While we were gone, she sent daily pictures and updates. Upon our return, while our dogs were very happy to see us, they were very attentive to her as well. Our house was clean and neat and the dogs were as well. She took them on daily walks and allowed our younger one to sleep with her. We could not be more satisfied with Kayla and highly recommend her without any reservations.”

About: I will be out of Tucson and pet sitting in Iowa from July 20th to October 15. I have been a licensed massage therapist for 12 years. My skills have overflowed into treating animals big, small and in between sizes (horses, dogs, cats, rats). I learned to communicate with animals by learning to read their body language and energy. With this skill, I have trained 5 dogs to use the treadmill, 1 cat to use the toilet, and 1 dog to pass his good canine certificate. I enjoy working with animals slightly more than humans...shhh don't tell my clients :) I am self employed as a Licensed Massage Therapist and I make my own schedule. I treat animals as well. I can adjust my schedule as needed. During the winter I prioritize my human clients which still allows me to overnight sit. During the summer I have more time to provide play dates and walks. As of now, I only accept overnight sits at the owners home. I have a valid Arizona Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card, issued by the AZ Dept. of Public Safety for my work as a Licensed Massage Therapist and for my volunteer work in Hospice. I combine my experience and intuition in observing how the owners respond to their pets and incorporate what the animal is familiar with. I bring my ability to communicate through body language and energy to create a calming presence. I ask clarifying questions. I know owners want the best for their pets!
“Allison was great with communication. It was my first time to use Rover, as I usually go with friends I trust but it’s time to get a real professional. I was reassured several times a day (which is what I asked for) that my dogs were ok. Allison did ask for the quirks and preferences of my 2 dogs, of they have some, and I feel she really listened, understood & acted on the information. I was breathing a little easier knowing Alison was doing her sincere business of pet love & care. Thank you, Alison!”

“Tanya did a wonderful job taking care of our puppy! She was able to come by multiple times per day and gave us updates along the way! She made sure he was well fed, loved, and trained! She is a lovely person, reasonably priced, and went above and beyond our expectations! We will absolutely utilize her services again!”

“Dina is such a kind, caring soul and it is felt in every way by my sweet fur baby, Thunder absolutely loves her gentle spirit. I recommend her highly to anyone needing a sitter for their pet. She is also prompt, professional. Thanks for taking such good care of Thunder, Dina.”

About: I have been taking care of personal and foster dogs since I was 12 and pet sitting throughout that time. I am responsible with details of any instructions left for your pets care. I love meeting new dogs and enjoy, playing with, walking and just spending time around them. I am very calm and gentle with all pets. I am looking to walk and care for pets when I get off work at 3 on weekdays and overnight on weekends to make extra money and stay busy around animals. I am detailed about any instructions left and frequently check for water. I am attentive to animals needs based on their body language in terms of needing to go outside. I am gentle with animals and patient about them initiating play or affection if that is something they want. I enjoy the company of animals a lot and try to stay in same room if they enjoy that company.

Logan is a great pet sitter! He visited my daughter's new kitten twice a day and sent us SO many adorable pictures. Little Henry was quite naughty one day but Logan cleaned up the mess and made sure to hide some items just in case. Would 100% recommend Logan to care for any pet. We will be using him a lot when we are away from home.

Nellie is a fabulous pet/house sitter! From initial contact and throughout the stay, Nellie is very responsible and courteous. She took wonderful care of my fuzzy family members, sending me daily updates and asking questions to make sure they were getting everything they needed. And it was reassuring to have someone in the house with them. I came home to calm, happy animals. I will definitely book her again!

Adriane takes such great care of our house and pups, this time for 8 days while we were on our cruise! I can’t say enough about the trust we have in her with caring for our pups and it helps knowing our babies love her just as much! Adriane will always be our first Choice whenever we have pet / house sitting needs!

Carmen was an amazing dog sitter! She kept in communication with me on a daily basis, as I asked, she followed all the instructions I left her for my dog and the house such as taking the trash out and watering the plants. When she wasn’t sure of something, she would check in with me to ask which I really appreciated. I would absolutely recommend Carmen as a sitter and I will definitely use her services again! My dog loved her and was well taken care of.

Jenna & Aaron were wonderful. They kept our senior baby company while we were on a 5day vacation. They sent us pictures. Our house was just how we left it when we returned. They assisted in watering our plants outside, picking up poop, checking our mail and even changing the batteries in our ring camara and left our living room camara up the entire time to check on Prince while there were gone. Highly recommend we found our new favorite dog sitters !

We’re so glad we found Elizabeth! Thank you Elizabeth!

Yelena was incredibly kind, communicative, and reliable. Our dog has some quirks and health issues, and she handled it all with confidence and positivity. We appreciated getting frequents messages and pictures during our time away, and she even treated our dog to a new toy during her stay! We felt very comfortable having her take care of our home and dog while we were out of town.

Charlotte was a great sitter for my elderly dog. She really loves animals and was so kind to my dog Betty. She housesat for me and always communicated well and my home and Betty were in perfect shape when we got home. She was able to troubleshoot when Betty had potty accidents in the home and made sure to send lots of photos. Would book again and recommend.

FAQs for House Sitting - Tucson
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Tucson on Rover is $38.85 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 1,015 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Tucson. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Tucson walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Tucson maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Tucson choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Tucson. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
