“Karol is a Rockstar! My little fluffy dude and home were so well taken care of... she sent a lot of pictures and updates... Hopefully she will be watching Winston again on my next journey, A++”

“Allison did an incredible job house sitting and caring for my cat, Marcel. She is reliable, professional, and a good communicator. Marcel is shy at first with strangers, and she built his trust quickly and the next thing I knew she was sending photos of him on her lap! I highly recommend Allison and I hope she will come watch Marcel again. Thank you, Allison! Marcel and I are so grateful to have found you.”

About: I’ve been caring for and pet sitting animals for as long as I can remember! I absolutely love and adore animals and honestly prefer them to people 😉. I am a full time teacher but have plenty of time in the mornings and evenings to provide lots of love to your fur babies. I have experience working in animal shelters as well as fostering dogs. I am a dog mama of 2 adopted Shar-Peis and am a cat mom as well. Unfortunately, my kiddos have lots of health issues therefore I have lots of experience administering oral medications, ear creams, eye creams…you name it! I also have experience taking care of senior and young pups. Though challenging, they deserve all the patience and love in the world. I am looking forward to getting to know you and provide excellent care for your baby! I’m a 5th grade teacher full time and I am at work from 7:40 - 2:40 with availability to care for your pets before and after school! I am generally free on the weekends to provide drop ins, walks, and stay overnight if needed. I have a large backyard with an 8ft tall brick privacy fence that would be nearly impossible for your fur baby to escape. I will also keep tabs on them at all times to ensure their safety. When in others’ homes, I keep an eye on pets and spend time with them like they’re my own.
About: I am currently a first-year veterinary student at the University of Arizona College of Veterinary Medicine, here in Oro Valley, AZ. As a student, I work with all kinds of animals, from companion animals to reptiles and farm animals! I graduated with my bachelor's degree in pre-veterinary science from Arizona State University in 2025 and hope to graduate with my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 2028. - I've been an animal lover since I was a child! I've worked in veterinary clinics as a veterinary assistant throughout undergrad so I have a lot of experience with all kinds of pets. I love pet-sitting through Rover as a de-stressor from school, as animals always make me happy :) - Meet and Greets are a must before our first booking to ensure I’m a good fit for you and your pet(s). - Lastly, pet safety is my priority at all times. I ensure that homes are left in the same original condition as upon arrival and lock up according to the owner’s instructions. I am currently a full time professional student doing Rover on the side to help pay off my student loans! - I still have school over the summer! My classes are from Monday-Friday. The times we have are variable for each day and are range from 8am-5pm. - Drop-ins/dog walking: We usually have a 1-hour break at 11am where I can stop by if you live close to my school, or I can come when classes are over for the day. - House-sitting: I am fully available to house-sit on weekends, but I have classes on weekdays. Though I am still able to house-sit on weekdays, keep in mind that I may be not be able to stay at your house for a good chunk of the day, depending on the day. If you need weekday house-sitting, please reach out to me with the days you need and for how much of those days you need me to be at your house! I can check my schedule and get back to you. Sometimes, we have whole mornings off or get done super early, so it just depends. Drop-ins/walking: I will always message you the time I completed my visit and send you photos of your furry friend! I can provide you with any details of the visit you need such as if they went potty, how much they ate, etc. - House-sitting: I know it's nerve-racking to leave your pet home and go off on a trip. I can send you updates with photos as often as you'd like so that you feel confident that they are in good hands. I'll always keep an eye out on my messages during my stay so I can answer you and respond with updates. I will reliably follow the directions you provide for me, making sure your pet feels safe & secure. - Please provide specific instructions for pet and home care, including safety protocols in your home. Otherwise, I am careful to not disturb anything inside your home and will ensure your home is locked up properly.
“Danielle stayed in my home for 5 days with my 2 dogs and 2 cats. She took great care of them- one of my dogs needed unexpected antibiotics which she just worked into their routine with ease. The house was in perfect order upon my return, my animals happy and healthy. Fantastic job and lots of pictures and feedback! Thank you so much Danielle!”

“Mackenzie did a great job with 2 very shy kitties who've never had a pet sitter before. The situation was complicated in that one kitty would eat the other's food when he would hide. So the kitties had to be separated...gently.”

“Highly recommend having Charlotte care for your pets and or home while you’re away! She is kind, great with our animals, amazing to communicate with, and sent so many heart warming photo updates. We came to a clean home, and most importantly happy healthy animals! Thank you Charlotte!”

“Robert was wonderful! He was on time, very kind and took special care with our elderly and blind dachshund. She needs extra attention on walks and outside around our pool, he was very patient and understanding with this. He provided photos and detailed updates on how she was doing. Our house was spotless and our dog was calm and content when we arrived back home. We will be booking Rob for future dates.”

“Alison is wonderful! She is attentive to our pets and our plants!! We have had her stay in our home twice for long vacations. We couldn’t even tell she was there when we returned!! Alison is a gem <3”

“It you're on the fence and not sure if Rover is the way to go, I highly recommend you book Dakoda. I was really worried it was going to be a mess. I was pleasantly surprised when he offered to meet before hand and discuss the details of our upcoming trip. He immediately made me feel at ease and was very comfortable with my large dogs. Dakoda also notices the little things that needed to be cared for in our home. He changed our Christmas countdown while we were out. It's the little things that make a real difference. I can tell he not only cares about the pets but also cares about the family he stays with. Book Dakoda, he is truly a remarkable young man.”

“Thank you so much for watching over our babies. I felt super comfortable since we did do a meet and greet before the actual babysitting. She sent pictures every day and we really did feel like they were in great hands. Will definitely book again.❤️🙏🏼”

“Victoria took us last minute as we had a death in the family and she worked out perfect. Our four dogs were comfortable and fully at home with her in our absence. We loved getting a daily photo of our babies. Will definitely recommend her and we will be using her again.”

“Tracy stayed at our home for 6 days and 5 nights to take care of our 9 week old mini golden-doodle, Coco. From the moment we booked our sitting time she was very responsive and frequently communicated and while we were away there was many pictures shared. She arrived with special treats and was attentive to all our commands that we were teaching and continued to use them. Coco absolutely loves Tracy. We’ll be definitely using her again.”

“Annette was super fantastic with Shammy. She kept Shammy busy and Shammy was very happy. We will def use her again. She is sweet and compassionate with dogs, and very responsible.”
“Kelly came for a meet and greet, and was engaging with both of our pups within minutes. We are new to the area, and so for our first sit just had a day out in town. She kept us up to date with pictures and notes about what the pups were doing, and was good about asking questions when needed. We will be happy to have Kelly sit for us again!”

“Emily took the BEST care of our boys! She was attentive, she sent us messages the whole time we were away and she always let us know her schedule. We have a small puppy that is A LOT to handle and Emily did it with ease. She stayed at our house as well and took such great care of everything. I felt very safe having her there. Would recommend her to everyone!!”

“I had to go out of town at the last minute. A friend suggested Rover. Ander was available for a last minute stay. We met to see how Ander and Willy would be. I was very surprised at how comfortable Willy was. I am grateful for the care and attention he gave to Willy. I will happily be a repeat customer. I also appreciate that he only has one “family” of pets at a time. Thank you Ander for going out of your way to help us.”

Charlotte is super sweet, kind & you can tell very caring about the pets she babysits for!!! We will be using her from now on. She was super clean, responsible & updated us with photos everyday. One of our babies needs meds & she was very concerned about making sure Luna received the correct amount!!

Lucille was wonderful! She was very punctual, professional, and reliable throughout the entire week. Bear was well taken care of and seemed happy and comfortable while I was away. It gave me great peace of mind knowing he was in good hands and that his needs were being looked after. I would absolutely recommend Lucille and would be happy to book with her again in the future. Thanks again for taking such great care of Bear! 🐾

Victoria took us last minute as we had a death in the family and she worked out perfect. Our four dogs were comfortable and fully at home with her in our absence. We loved getting a daily photo of our babies. Will definitely recommend her and we will be using her again.

This was the first time we had Matt for petsitting our 3 dogs. He was right on time, was patient with our one fearful dog, as well getting the other two to quickly warm up to him. He took the time to read to our write up on the dogs. We will definitely call on him in the future.

Mackenzie took wonderful care of my pets and my house. This was my first time having anyone other than family take care of my animals and she gave me great piece of mind knowing they were safe and fed. She is very quick answering messages and gave reassurance that everything was okay, and I was able to relax and enjoy my trip. My home and animals were in great shape when I got home and I will definitely be using Mackenzie again when I travel. Thank you, Mackenzie for going the extra mile to relieve my anxiety about leaving my boys with a "stranger". You're not a stranger anymore and I'm thrilled to have you as part of my little, furry family.

Sofía was great!! She was very easy to work with and is very kind and sweet. We returned home to find our dogs, relaxed and happy!! This is the marker of a good dog sitter. Also, she followed all of our instructions and communicated well with us during her entire time with our dogs. (Pictures & notes) I would definitely recommend her and use her services anytime that she is available!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Oro Valley on Rover is $49.95 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 1,005 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Oro Valley. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Oro Valley walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Oro Valley maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Oro Valley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
