“Adriana took the best care of our two dogs this weekend. She provided us with many pictures and updates of our dogs throughout her stay. She was prompt and very helpful. Definitely someone I would trust to watch my dogs and home again!”

“Liz did a truly wonderful job of taking care of our two year old rescue golden. She helped Holly navigate her nervousness around our absence - it was the first time we left her to travel. But with Liz, she did great. Liz walked her every day, helped her stay on her routine, played with her and made her feel loved while we were gone. The most important thing for us was that Holly was not alone over night and Liz was happy to stay overnight with Holly for our entire trip. Liz made us feel incredibly comfortable and at ease with her phenomenal communication during our trip. Every day, she sent pics, even videos, to keep us updated on all of Holly's adventures. When we got back, the house was spotless, our plants were thriving (different from their usual state!), and Holly was happy. We have another trip on the horizon in a couple months and we will definitely be booking Liz again. Thank you so much!”

“Our minds and hearts were at ease leaving our girls and home in Sydney's hands! We have a geriatric Great Dane who needs help up and down and all around, so we had Sydney do some house visits for a few weeks leading up to our big 9-day trip to get them acclimated [the smaller dane is a piece of cake :) ]. Sydney went above and beyond to clean the yard and pick up the house even after all the stinky messes I'm sure she encountered at all times of the day and night. We already have Sydney lined up for a few more events and are so blessed and lucky we found her! (But please don't steal her time from us lol) THANK YOU, SYDNEY!!!!”

“Kristin & Bryce were amazing! We were able to go on vacation and knew our brand new home and our dogs and cats were safe and loved! I highly recommend them and will be using them for all our pet/house sitting needs!”

“Lorena did a great job. The dogs were happy and had a great time. She sent pictures and updates daily. All three dogs have meds and she had no problems other than one of our dogs is weird. We would definitely book with her again”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for our dog, Rudy! She was kind, professional, and very thorough, asking great questions ahead of time to make sure she knew all of Rudy’s routines and needs. While we were away, she sent us regular updates and pictures, which really put our minds at ease knowing he was happy and well cared for. She clearly treated Rudy like her own — giving him so much love, attention, and care. We came home to a very happy dog and an impeccably clean house. She was so respectful of our home and lived in it gently, leaving everything just as we left it. It’s obvious she truly cares about the pets and families she works with. We would absolutely book her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful, and caring sitter!”

“This is our second time Annette has watched our babies! The first was drop in visits and this time she did house sitting for our 3 cats and dog. She was great! She took our dog on her daily walks and gave lots of cuddles to our cats. Our home looked better than when we left. I would 100% have Annette watch out babies again!”

“Maisie was wonderful to work with from the very beginning. Our goldendoodle has quite the personality and can sometimes be intimidating when you first meet him but she was extremely patient and kind. When we returned from our trip, the house was spotless and dogs were very happy and well taken care of. Maisie communicated well each day and sent a ton of photos of the dogs doing various things throughout the day. I’d highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone safe and loving to take care of your fur babies while you’re away!”

“Not sure who liked her more our dog or us!!! Sammie is amazing! Followed the directions for our dog down to the very finest detail. She communicates often and clearly and took care of everything we needed. We highly recommend Sammie and will calling her in the future!”

“Sara is absolute ROCKSTAR. Our Mookie absolutely loves her. He had his 2nd stay with her and we could tell he had a blast. He normally doesn’t eat the most consistent but he did with Sara. We loved all the updates and pictures we got through the stay. Sara always leaves our home like no one stayed there and we will continue to use her for all of Mookie’s stays. As a French bulldog owner it can be very hard to find the right “fit” but we know we have it with Sara!!”

“The babies loved having Mary house sit with them while we were away! She kept us updated and sent lots of picture while watching our 3 cats and 1 dog. I came home to 4 happy pets. Our l shy cat even came out and cuddled with her! I will definitely book with Mary again!”

“Amber stayed at my house and took care of my dog, cat and lizard for 4 days. I felt comfortable having her at my home and she took great care of my pets! I would highly recommend her!”

“Lily was an amazing dog sitter! She took wonderful care of both of our dogs. She kept me updated with how they were doing and was fantastic when one of them had arthritis issues while I was gone. Cannot recommend her enough!”

About: I have over ten years of experience with many different types of animals and I know a lot of different techniques to approaching animals that might be scared or more difficult to take care of. I am a college student back for summer break and I don’t have a job currently so I am available 24/7. I can work every day of the week and have access to transportation so I am available to drive to the animals at anytime. I can drive anywhere at any time and take animals to different places if needed. I will make sure they are well fed and watered as well as taken for walks or played with to keep them active and if they need any extra help I am more than willing to take those steps to ensure they get it.
The median cost per night for house sitting in Vail is $45

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We cannot say enough wonderful things about Brenda! She took exceptional care of our lab puppies and our home. The house was spotless when we returned, and our puppies were clearly happy, relaxed, and so well cared for. Brenda consistently sent pictures and updates, which gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. She is reliable, thoughtful, and truly loves what she does. We would book her again in a heartbeat and highly recommend her to anyone looking for an outstanding Rover

Joann did a Meet & Greet with us and she knew right away how to approach our little Dolly. It was obvious Joann knows dogs. Our Dolly has separation anxiety plus a fear of people. She’s 1 1/2 years old and we’ve had her for 3 months. We don’t know what her first year was like. Joann spent a few hours with her on the scheduled visit and when we returned home Dolly was relaxed and willing to get closer to her. She actually was looking for Joann after she left. That was an huge step. Joann kept us informed about what was happening plus sent pictures which allowed us to enjoy our time away. We feel we definitely made the right pick for a pet sitter.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Vail walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Vail maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Vail choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Vail. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
