“Dina is fantastic! We were super happy about her watching over Charly ( crazy youg goldenretriever) and Lilly (cat). All went so well with the animal and her entire stay. She is definitely a responsible person. We will have her again with no hesitation! See you soon again, Dina. Emmie and Patrick”

“Samantha was an amazing dog sitter. She sent lots of pictures, walked them, and gave them all the attention they needed. I was able to enjoy my vacation knowing that my fur babies were in good hands.”

“Lauren did a great job taking care of Stitch and Blu! She was a great communicator and kept me updated. I would definitely recommend Lauren and would be happy to have her take care of Stitch and Blu again! 🐾💕”

“We’re so glad we found Elizabeth! We felt at ease leaving the dogs with them because they are caring. They sent updates, pictures, and videos of our dogs which gave us peace of mind. We were a little bit worried because one of our dogs is a rescue who does not trust people immediately, but he felt so comfortable with Elizabeth and they were great with him. We’re lucky to have found Elizabeth on rover and hope to have them watch our dogs again in the future! Thank you Elizabeth!”

“Marnesha was wonderful. She communicated, sent pictures and was on top of everything. One of our dogs takes a while to warm to new people and Marnesha had her charmed in no time.”

“Maggie did in home Cat/Dog sitting for 3 nights! Sent me pictures of my babies & stayed in communication with me! Home looked exactly as I had left it & I would recommend Maggie for house/animal sitting!!”

“Madison was outstanding in providing care for our 65 lb. Bernedoodle Stella. Madison gave us regular updates with photos & video and responded quickly when we had a question. We highly recommend Madison! Thank you for the great care you provided!”

“Liz did a truly wonderful job of taking care of our two year old rescue golden. She helped Holly navigate her nervousness around our absence - it was the first time we left her to travel. But with Liz, she did great. Liz walked her every day, helped her stay on her routine, played with her and made her feel loved while we were gone. The most important thing for us was that Holly was not alone over night and Liz was happy to stay overnight with Holly for our entire trip. Liz made us feel incredibly comfortable and at ease with her phenomenal communication during our trip. Every day, she sent pics, even videos, to keep us updated on all of Holly's adventures. When we got back, the house was spotless, our plants were thriving (different from their usual state!), and Holly was happy. We have another trip on the horizon in a couple months and we will definitely be booking Liz again. Thank you so much!”

“Amber/Ash was fantastic with my cats. She connected with them easily, kept their schedule, and was respectful and kind with all of us. They were clearly content and yet happy to see me when I returned. She was flexible when I decided to return a day earlier than planned and was responsive on the app when texting her. I'd have her back anytime!”

“Cara was extremely prepared and communicative. It is clear that she loves dogs and she did a wonderful job taking care of our Luna. I would absolutely have her watch my dog again.”

“Chesnie was very professional. On time, great communication, and her love for animals is obvious. She was great with Sadie and made her feel comfortable very quickly. Definitely recommend!”

“Katherine was an amazing sitter for our boy, Luther. She sent us update photos of his time playing, walking and lounging around the house. Katherine was very communicative and kindly did a meet and greet to make sure our rescue would be a good fit with her. We would definitely recommend her as she kept the house neat, took care of Luther’s specific needs in the moment, and was a great guest in our home.”

About: I have been around dogs my whole life. I can’t remember a time when I didn’t have a dog in my life. I have had many years of experience watching and taking care of mine and others dogs. I have watched my family’s and close friends dogs many times throughout the years. I have dog sitted and had multiple doggy sleepovers up to a month before. I have watched dogs as small as Chihuahuas all the way up to German Shepherds. There is no task I can’t handle! (: I can’t wait to meet your baby and becoming their new friend! I m currently unemployed and have more than most my time available for dog care. I spend most my time with my own dogs and or family members and friends. I have a great back yard where dogs can run around and feel safe. I am pretty minimal when it comes to furniture but do have plenty of room for dogs to lay around. I wash all couch covers twice a week, sweep & vacuum everyday, and mop as needed. I am very big on keeping poop cleaned up and making sure things are cleaned up regularly like toys or trash that might be out. Bathroom doors stay closed and cleaning supplies are locked up.
“DruAnn was amazing to communicate with and she took incredible care of our pup and home. She sent us pics and checked in while we were away which was so nice! She was wonderful to work with! We highly recommend her!!! Thank you DruAnn!”

“Reese did an absolutely amazing job. We had recently had a horrible experience with a different sitter and had a lot of reservations about using Rover again due to that. However, Reese made us feel great. She followed our instructions, kept the cats safe, and gave us updates. We’ll definitely hire her again.”

“She sat for all 5 of our dogs so we could go to a funeral in another city and she was a life saver. All of the dogs loved her. She kept us updated and sent pictures. We were able to leave without being too worried about how our dogs were or if they were okay. Definitely worth it. Thank you!!!”

“Jennifer took great care of my senior dog and cat while I went out of town! I really appreciated the frequent updates and photos. I returned to my girls happy and healthy, I can tell they got lots of love. Highly recommend and will rebook in the future! Thank you so much Jennifer!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Drexel-Alvernon
Ollie took wonderful care of Astro. She arrived right on time, was attentive and caring, and even went out of her way to take Astro on a hike. She sent us photos while we were away, which we really appreciated. When we got home, Astro’s toys were scattered around the house, so it was obvious they had spent plenty of time playing together and that Astro had a great afternoon. We felt very comfortable having Ollie care for her and would happily recommend her.

Melanie looked after our multiple pets very well and also cared for our house while we were away for 10 days. We felt very comfortable with her and the house was in great shape when we got home, and the pets were all healthy and happy. Melanie stayed in touch throughout our trip. We would be happy to have her back again.

Amanda is so wonderful in every way. Very active with the animals- cuddles, plays and walks them and so great with communication. My cats are pretty cautious guys, but with the pictures I can tell they are super comfortable with her. She also takes great care of the house. She’ll always be my preferred go to sitter ☺️

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Drexel-Alvernon walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Drexel-Alvernon maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Drexel-Alvernon choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Drexel-Alvernon. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
