“Sean was awesome from the initial meet and greet to when I picked up Bailey. He sent me pictures and videos everyday and I could tell my Bailey was comfortable and well taken care of.”

“Cameron and Tyson are the best! My dogs had the greatest time staying with them and were completely at ease and comfortable in their home. Cameron and Tyson made sure to send me pictures and updates on my pups. We can’t recommend them enough and will certainly be back to stay in the future!”

“Wilson loved his stay with Kiana and Klayton. We were nervous about leaving him with strangers, however, it was apparent when I first got to their home that he would not be a stranger for long. They sent pictures of his adventures during his stay. Kiana and Klayton seem to have a genuine love for animals. I will definitely consider them for future stays.”
About: I’ve been the resident animal lover my whole life. I started as the caretaker for the family dog at 11 years old and have my own dogs as well. I’ve raised, trained, pet sat, and boarded dogs (and the occasional cat) for 20+ years. I have experience with toy to giant breed dogs as well as all energy levels. My home is a mixture between calm and energetic but I always make sure we make adjustments so that pets can feel the most comfortable while they are here. I am home all day during the week and most weekends. I will step out for up to 2 hours at a time for school pick ups/drop offs and errand runs. I have a 5ft fenced yard with locking gates. There are currently 2 dogs living in the home — a 1 year old lab mix and a 10 year old golden retriever. I have a separate dog area from my kids so that they have a place to escape from grabby hands and loud noises.
“Amy did an amazing job with Zoey! Lots of walks and playtime! We always looked forward to the daily updates and pics! So nice to be away on a trip and know Zoey is being looked after like she is part of Amy’s family! Thank you so much🐾❤️”

“Beth was great with our puppy! She also was exceptional with communication. We could not have asked for a better experience and look forward to using her services again!”

“We are passing thru and fortunately found Gina to take care of our fur babies. If we lived here Gina would be our go to sitter!!! Both pups were happy and healthy when we picked them up and it was clear they were loved by Gina and family 💝”

“Barbara was amazing. Our dog Poppy had a great time and was very loved and welled cared for while there. Barbara kept us updated with pictures and was great with communication. We will definitely use her services again when we are in the area.”

“Darlene was great watching our two small dogs for a few days. We know our dogs loved her nice warm home and the backyard area. We appreciated the update mid-way through our trip to know everything was going well. Would take the dogs back anytime. Thanks again!”

“Absolutely amazing, one of the most genuine human beings I have had the pleasure to meet. Overall a great family, both Christina and her husband took absolutely amazing care of our boys and sent pictures and updates often. Very easy to work with and willing to go the extra mile. Upon pickup, we could tell that our dogs were very well taken care of, and felt comfortable with her family and their dog. Thank you, Christina, we will for sure use you again in the future!”

We’re familiar with dogs that have medical needs and are happy to accommodate any requests you have to make sure your dogs stay with us stress free for everyone I work from home with a flexible schedule so your pup will have moments of play and napping throughout the day! And we usually do a little family walk in the evenings We have a fenced in yard and a playful boxer to keep your pup company! Since I’m home during the day your dog will have bathroom and play breaks throughout the day. We can accommodate dogs that require a crate but also are okay if your pup prefers sleeping on the couch or in their own bed
“Loren was fantastic! She was very accommodating and patient, and wrote beautiful check-ins to help us feel comfortable while away from our pups! One of our pooches was not the best-behaved and Loren was very calm and reassuring.”

“Gail was so great! She sent us pictures and kept in touch to let us know our dog was well. We were very lucky to find her and will definitely be using her as our dog sitter again.”

“Kathy was absolutely wonderful! My dog can be somewhat reactive with other animals, so I needed to make sure she was the only pet in the home. Kathy treated her like a queen! I loved getting frequent pictures and videos of her. I could tell she was relaxed, happy, and felt very loved. I absolutely recommend Kathy!”

“Cathleen was a lifesaver as our old dog watcher was no longer in the business. Cathleen was very friendly and responsive to our request to watch our dog while we went out of state on vacation for several days. She kept us in the loop on how he was doing while we were gone and even sent us a few pictures. She took good care of our Bear and we will definitely call upon her services again in the future!”

“Richard and Jeanette were fantastic sitters for our 12 year old dog. She felt right at home. We loved the atmosphere of the home. They have made their home into a very welcoming place for our pets. Their backyard is well protected and very shady, our dog loved it there. We will use them again, no problem.”

“Kat was great and very patient when we didn’t know how to use this app, and our flight was delayed overnight, and I’m sure we made the whole deal annoying for her, but she was kind and patient and very responsive to communication. And Paris really seemed to enjoy being there and playing with her dogs. Thank you, Kat!!”

JoAnn is absolutely wonderful! We have a dog named Daisy, and we feel so comfortable leaving her in JoAnn’s care. We had to find a sitter on very short notice, and Devin & Hailey were absolute lifesavers. They responded quickly, were flexible with our timing, and made the entire process stress-free from the start. Our dog Boomer settled in comfortably right away, which says a lot. We really appreciated the regular updates, photos, and the clear care and attention given throughout the stay. It gave us real peace of mind knowing our dog was in such great hands. We’re incredibly grateful for the last-minute accommodation and would not hesitate to book again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for someone dependable, responsive, and genuinely caring.

Lori was wonderful!! She took excellent care of Gwen, sent updates with pictures and made us feel comfortable right from the initial meet and greet! It was so nice to find someone who we can trust to take care of our girl while we are out of town. We will absolutely leave Gwen with Lori again in the future.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AZ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
