Robert was the perfect choice for me. I needed to go to the emergency room, and I had a friend who took Bernie for 1 day. I put in my request and Robert responded immediately. Since I was in the ER he met with my friend, and she gave him all of Bernie's needs. After meeting with Robert, she said that she liked him so much that she would not hesitate to use him for her 2 cream goldens. Robert made 2 great impressions on one stop. I would use him every chance I get. He did light housework and sent pics of Bernie and made sure Bernie was a happy boy. Thank you Robert.

Danielle stayed in my home for 5 days with my 2 dogs and 2 cats. She took great care of them- one of my dogs needed unexpected antibiotics which she just worked into their routine with ease. The house was in perfect order upon my return, my animals happy and healthy. Fantastic job and lots of pictures and feedback! Thank you so much Danielle!

About: I provide loving, reliable pet care in the familiar surroundings of their own home. Please note that I have a 3-night minimum stay requirement for all bookings. While my home base is tucked away in the high desert, my full-time house-sitting services are completely mobile. I am happy to travel directly to you across Pima and Pinal counties and their surrounding communities to ensure your beloved pets stay comfortable and stress-free. Whether you live in the Catalina Foothills, Oro Valley, SaddleBrooke, Marana, Tucson, or up through San Tan Valley, I bring peace of mind directly to your doorstep. I specialize in overnight house sitting, ensuring your pets get to keep their stress-free, daily routines in the comfort of their own environment. About My Experience & Care Style I have cared for animals for many years, including dogs and cats in a variety of home environments. Friends, neighbors, and family have trusted me to provide dependable, attentive care while they are away. I am especially strong at maintaining a pet’s normal routine, which helps them feel calm and secure. I naturally bring a steady, grounded presence that animals respond well to, and I take the time to understand each pet’s personality and needs. Because every animal is unique, I always let pets set the pace for how quickly we become friends, ensuring a patient, respectful introduction. I focus on creating a low-stress environment where pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for, while also treating each home with the same level of respect and attention. I’m happy to travel for the right stay and provide a consistent, attentive experience from start to finish. 🐾 Multi-Pet Household Policy: For homes featuring a mix of both dogs and cats, my primary base rate defaults to the standard dog sitting rate ($105), with any feline family members added via the additional cat tier ($25). Medication Note: I am happy to administer oral medications, provided they can be easily hidden or mixed directly into the pet's regular food. I structure my schedule to support multi-day stays where I can provide a consistent and reliable presence. I am available throughout the week and weekends for house sitting, and I plan my time so that pets receive attentive care and a stable routine. I may step out for short periods during the day, but I always prioritize maintaining a pet’s comfort and schedule. This allows me to provide a balanced, calm environment while ensuring your home and pets are well cared for. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on maintaining their established routine so everything feels as normal and stress-free as possible. I follow feeding schedules, walking routines, and any specific instructions closely, while also providing companionship and attentive care. I treat each home with great respect and care, keeping everything clean, secure, and well maintained. I’m mindful of safety at all times and aim to create a calm, stable environment where pets feel comfortable and owners feel confident that everything is being handled responsibly.

Mariah did a wonderful job taking care of my dogs and kitty cat while I was away from home. She came and met them before I left and my dogs were immediately calm in her presence. She showed up on time communicated about her availability, and I came home to three very happy pups! It’s always nice to know your family members are in good hands while you’re unable to be at home.

I’ve cared for young and geriatric dogs, dogs with anxiety, and have experience giving medication (oral meds and eye drops!) I’m off for the summer before school, so my schedule is flexible! My home is not available for pets right now, but I am happy to take care of your pet in their own home! I am open to dropping in as well as staying the night to keep them company! I would like to keep their routine as steady as possible, and am happy to play with them, let them out, take them on walks, etc. as best fits their normal schedule!

About: I’ve been caring for dogs for years and genuinely love being around animals. I’ve raised my own dogs since they were puppies for the past 5 years, and for the last 2 years I’ve also house sat and walked dogs for other families. I’m comfortable with walks, feeding, playtime, overnight care, and keeping pets happy and comfortable while their owners are away. I love getting to know every dog’s personality and treating them like family 🐾 I have open availability throughout the summer since school is out, which makes me very flexible and reliable for walks, drop-ins, house sitting, and pet care. I’m able to give pets lots of attention, consistency, and care, and I’m committed to being dependable for both pets and their owners. If I’m house sitting, I’m very responsible and respectful of your home. I make sure to leave everything exactly how I found it while keeping your pets safe, comfortable, and well cared for. About: Hi!! My name is Jess and I am a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine student at the University of Arizona graduating in August 2026. I will begin working as an Emergency Veterinarian with Veterinary Emergency Group in October 2026. I have several years of hands-on veterinary and animal care experience working with dogs, cats, wildlife, horses, cattle, and neonatal animals. Before veterinary school, I worked as a Veterinary Assistant, assisting with treatments, laboratory work, radiographs, medications, and client communication. Through veterinary school and emergency medicine training, I have experience recognizing signs of illness and providing attentive, compassionate care. I truly love animals and treat every pet as if they were my own. My goal is to make your pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away! I am currently on clinical rotations so my schedule varies monthly, but I love to make time to take care of pets outside of work. I provide a safe, calm, and loving environment while following each pet’s normal routine, including feeding, walks, medications, and exercise. With my veterinary background, I’m comfortable monitoring for signs of stress or illness and ensuring pets feel comfortable and well cared for while their owners are away.

FAQs for House Sitting - Catalina

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Catalina on Rover is $33.3 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 969 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Catalina. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Catalina walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Catalina maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Catalina choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Catalina. On Rover:

  • 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
