Oliver watched our frenchie in our home during a long weekend. He was extremely communicative about how our pup was doing, sent photos, and followed our care instructions perfectly! Our dog loved hanging out with him. I highly recommend Oliver for any and all pet-sitting needs! We will be using him as our regular sitter from here on out :) thank you Oliver!!

Mickale took good care of our eldest pup, sending us photos every day which we didn’t even ask for but loved getting. She was super easy to work with and had great communication the whole time. Already have another trip out of town booked with her to watch our pup.

Brianna was amazing with my puppy and cat!! My puppy was always well behaved when left alone but while I was traveling she discovered a love of cardboard and Brianna was able to get to her quickly and make sure she couldn’t eat anymore of it. Brianna was also able to bond quickly with both of them, who are normally very shy and she was even able to take my puppy out for short walks (she’s normally very scared on walks). And the house was just as I left it! 10/10 would totally recommend!

About: I grew up around greyhounds specifically, and have a love for all dogs and cats! A couch potato or a pet that loves to run and play, I can keep up with either. :-) I can work from home for short periods if absolutely necessary as well, so your baby doesn’t have to be alone. I’d love to hang out with your furry friends! I currently work full-time in a office, but have the ability to work from home if absolutely necessary for short periods (2-3 days at a time), I work a regular morning schedule and am off at 4:30 every day, and am off on the weekends. I also get an hour lunch, so I can stop by to check on pets during that time as well. I follow your routine; feeding, walking, giving meds. Giving them at least an hour of play a day, or more if that’s a part of your normal schedule. Keeping them engaged, or just relaxing with them on the couch; whichever they prefer to make sure your pet has the most comfort. Keeping their environment clean, tidy, and organized. No litter box left unclean! Plus making sure to keep all doors locked, and personal items out of pets’ reach.

About: I'm an early bird so morning walks are always in; Sir Connor (Rest In Dog Paradise ) he was a shih tzu mixed. He was not neutered, because I wanted grand fur babies at the time. I have fostered over a dozen dogs and a handful of cats. Daisy May was an extra addition to the family while I was fostering a puppy I called Maxwell; Maxwell has been adopted by a caring couple! Daisy May is currently the only dog I have so far. Sitting Schedule: Breakfast is at 10:30. I'm reading on how to train dogs and so treats would be ideal for play time! Dinner is severed at 7:30 I feed twice a day. If I have your dog on the weekend, they get to go on a field trip to Overton Park or Mud Island Dog Park. They also get enrichment time with pet toys and snacks! I also groom on the weekend. I mostly had dogs as pets; I rescued a cat and named him Jeffery and he was adopted by a loving family. If you have more questions feel free to ask me! Thank You! I’m currently working part-time as a caregiver; I’m available after 12:00pm during the week; My weekends are flexible. I’ll be working full time once the school year starts! Daisy May is crate trained; I also have a foster puppy who has his own crate too. I have a doggie gate if separation is needed. My yards are not fenced; I stay on a slow traffic street.

About: I’m a kind hearted soul, always looking for ways to keep a pup happy. I pay attention to detail and I’m very familiar with taking care of dogs, especially ones that like to have fun. Back home, I have a 5 year old golden doodle that I’ve had since a puppy. I worked with her to potty train, and with basic training as well. I’m currently at home most of the day. I have full availability right now, and flexible availability during the weekends. Please reach out. Thank you! I am one of the sole caretakers of my dog at home. I take her out for potty breakers, feed her, and play with her.

About: I’ve had dogs and cats my entire life. Our family pets have always been my responsibility and I enjoy spending time and taking care of my pets, making sure I have Saturday’s and Sundays off work. I am free to take dogs on walks or coming by to let them out for a potty break or just hanging out. I have a fenced in backyard and one friendly dog of my own. I have multiple crates that I can crate them if wanted or necessary. I will follow any directions laid out to keep your pets feel safe at their own home and keep their schedule as normal as possible.

Madelyn was absolutely amazing when staying with our dogs in our home for a week! We received constant updates as to how they were doing as well as things we should know about around the house. When the week was over Mady cleaned up after herself and left the house cleaner than it was when she got there. We will continue to use Madelyn whenever we need dog sitting and we would recommend her to anyone else who needs the same services.

We still cannot believe how well he has taken to Jaymes! This is my second experience with Jaymes and I have another booked for February! Without a doubt……hands down……a wonderful dog sitter!!! You won’t regret booking him!!!! 😊

FAQs for House Sitting - New South Memphis

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 466 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across New South Memphis. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred New South Memphis walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in New South Memphis maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in New South Memphis choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in New South Memphis. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
