Paige was fantastic with my dog and new pup! She took great care of them and gave them both lots of love and care! Would 10/10 recommend her to house sit anytime! She was great with the boys and made sure the new pup went out in a timely manner each time he ate! Will definitely be booing her again to dog sit!

About: I have been a pet sitter for up to five dogs at a time, and the best compliment I've ever gotten is those dogs were more relaxed than when the family left! I am okay working with pets who have medical/special needs. Currently, this is my only job, though I do take online classes in the evening. This means I can give your pets the time they deserve! Your fur baby's health, safety, and comfort is my top priority! I'll follow your directions to the letter to make sure they're okay and comfortable-medication, time in and out, sleeping arrangements, and everything else!

Savanah did an amazing job with our quirky pets! In fact, our normally anxious dog loved her so much, he even got the “zoomies” when she stopped by to return the garage door opener after we got back. She is calm, confident, and responsible. It meant so much to us not to have to worry about our fur babies while we were gone.

About: Hi there! I’m a lifelong animal lover and have had pets since I was a toddler. I currently have three cats of my own who definitely run the house, so I’m very familiar with different personalities, routines, and quirky behaviors. I also regularly help care for my mom’s dog, Petey, so I stay very familiar with day to day dog care like walks, feeding, attention, and reading different dog personalities. In the past, I’ve also had dogs of my own, including a beloved senior dog who lived to an old age. Caring for her taught me a lot about patience, routine, and understanding the needs of older pets. I truly enjoy caring for dogs and making sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable. I have experience caring for both cats and dogs of all personalities. From friendly and playful to shy or more “spicy.” I’m calm, patient, and always take the time to let pets warm up at their own pace. I also have experience administering medications, including ear washes and oral medications, so I’m comfortable helping with basic care routines if needed. For dogs, I enjoy walks, playtime, and keeping their routine consistent. For cats, I understand the importance of trust, space, and gentle, low-stress care. My goal is always to treat every pet like my own and give you peace of mind while you’re away. 🐾❤️ As a stay at home mom of one child, I have a very flexible schedule which allows me to provide consistent and reliable pet care throughout the week, into the weekend. I’m able to accommodate morning, afternoon, and evening visits depending on your pet’s needs. Caring for animals fits naturally into my daily routine since I already manage a household and care for pets of my own. I’m organized, dependable, and make sure each visit is given my full attention and care. I care for every pet as if they were my own and always prioritize their safety, comfort, and routine. In a client’s home, I respect all instructions carefully and make sure pets stay in their normal environment with as little stress as possible. I follow feeding schedules, medication instructions, and exercise routines as requested. I take my time to be sure pets feel comfortable with me, especially shy or anxious pets, and I never rush interactions. I also keep a close eye on doors, gates, and safety concerns to ensure pets remain secure at all times. My goal is to provide reliable, calm care and give pet parents peace of mind while they’re away.

About: I am an experienced, compassionate pet parent with a deep understanding of animal behavior and medical care. I am a 5 star reviewed sitter on the trusted housesitters platform. I have extensive experience in managing pet medications, for senior rescue dogs, handling high energy puppies and caring for senior rescue dogs. Whether your pet needs calm, quiet companionship, careful medication administration, or high energy play sessions, I adapt perfectly to their routine to keep them happy, safe, and loved. I am currently working full-time but am flexible with hours being that I don’t have a specific work schedule. Some days I work morning shift then some days evenings I have breaks. I am open to whatever we can make work especially on my days off. I am the primary caregiver for all of the pets in the home I currently reside in. However I do have help when needed as one of the cats isn’t mine. Usually I am the one giving them breakfast and dinner, changing litter when needed and keeping an eye on them. Previously in the past I would also set a routine for pets and follow it very closely.

Amy took care of our pack for a long weekend and we were so pleased with everything! We have four rescue dogs ranging in size from 15lbs to 95lbs, so our house can be hectic at times. Amy made a point to learn each dog’s quirks and really connect with them individually. Amy was very thorough during our meet and greet, asking lots of questions about the dogs, their needs, and their schedule. She was well prepared upon arrival and the dogs all took to her immediately! One of our dogs began limping while we were away and Amy immediately sent us videos and pictures so we could decide the best course of action. We decided to treat with meds that we had at home and Amy kept us updated as our pup recovered. Amy even texted the next week to check in and make sure our girl was feeling better! I can’t recommend Amy enough! She took great care of our dogs and home. She was very communicative and prepared. Everything we want in a sitter!

About: I am a lifelong dog lover with 5 years of hands-on experience working in a doggy daycare. During my time there, I cared for dogs of all sizes, breeds and personalities through daycare, overnight boarding, feeding, medication administration, playtime, and plenty of one-on-one attention. This position strengthened my customer service experience, so I understand the importance of communication and keeping parents updated. Although I left the daycare to return to school, my passion for dogs never went away. Becoming a Rover sitter allows me to continue doing what I enjoy most. I strive to make any animal feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you're away. Whatever your pup needs, I'd love to help! Thank you <3 I am currently working a full time job and am only available for your needs on the weekends, starting with Fridays at 4pm and ending on Sundays. These accommodations could be arranged if my work schedule aligns and there is a discussion had beforehand. If earlier arrangements are needed for Friday, I could offer a drop in visit. Just be aware that I am not available for uninterrupted house sitting until 4pm. Thank you. I treat every pet and home with the same care and respect I would my own. I provide reliable, loving care and would keep up with your pet's normal routine. regular updates with photos will be provided at your request.

FAQs for House Sitting - Southaven

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Southaven on Rover is $28.86 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 461 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Southaven. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Southaven walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Southaven maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Southaven choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Southaven. On Rover:

  • 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
