About: Eric and Rachel share a love for their beloved Aussie-beagle Lilo and fostering rescue dogs together. We know that it is never easy to leave your beloved dog with someone new, and in a new place. As our own Lilo has struggled with separation anxiety before, we know how important it is to have a pet sitter who is present, patient, and able to cater their care towards a dog’s specific needs. Rachel has taken care of 6 different family dogs growing up, including a border collie, golden retriever, Boston terrier, 2 mixed breeds and a silky terrier. Eric has taken care of his family dog (chihuahua minpin) since birth till now (11 years old). Together, we have fostered 22 rescue dogs these past two years, ranging from a high energy Great Pyrenees to 3 Border Collie puppies all at once, to a completely afraid and anxious Beagle mama and Shiba Inu mama that are recovering from very difficult situations. We have also looked after American pit bulls, large Newfoundlands and a Rhodesian Ridgeback, and senior doggies who have hip difficulties and special diets. Our own dog is a 3.5 year old Aussie-beagle, so we particularly love the herding dogs. :) We both have lots of experience working with dogs of all kinds of temperaments and needs, especially high energy dogs who require a lot of attention and care, and administering medication to dogs who have special needs. Rachel also loves cooking her home cooked meals for her dog, and can do that for yours too, if you need! We both work from home and have all weekends free. Our flexible schedules together allows us to bring dogs regularly on walks and to look after them consistently. We follow instructions really well, and can take care of your dog according to your requirements. About: I’ve been taking care of dogs all my life, have had dogs of all sizes (from labs to terriers), and love all dogs no matter what. I am able to handle puppies, and elderly dogs. I am currently taking classes for my university and helping take care of my own pups! I am available most weekdays, from 7:30-4ish and can’t wait to meet some new pups! I have three dogs of my own at home, two labs and a Norwich terrier! I am their primary caretaker as my parents work and need some help with those guys!

About: From second grade until this past year, I grew up taking care of my maltese shih tzu everyday, named Ruby. She was certainly a very spoiled and loved dog! Since she passed just a couple months ago, it's been strange lacking the comfort and company that Ruby always provided me when I was alone- whether that was on long hiking adventures or just relaxing. In spite of her passing, and my overall affection for animals, I'm eagerly looking forward to finding new furry friends to take care of, play with, and join me on my walks! Growing up, I also frequently took care of my neighbor's dogs which gave me experience with all different breeds, sizes, and behaviors of dogs as well as cats. And aside from all my love for Ruby, she was definitely stubborn and picky so I have experience in dealing with difficult dogs, keeping patience, and figuring out how to accommodate each individual dogs needs and personality. Additionally, my sister has been on rover for years and has watched countless dogs and cats through this platform, and I've helped her out a lot, which has obviously provided me with the most relevant experience possible! I will be a junior at UW-Madison, but for now I am enjoying my summer in Madison without classes going on! Therefore, I have plenty of free time and so I'd love to fill it with caring for pets! Living at a prime location in the UW-Madison campus, and having easy access to my car means I can walk or drive to you and your pet and come to your home even if it's outside of campus. Whether your dog likes to loiter around every mailbox we pass on walks, or if they like to run, then I'm the dog walker for them! I'm happy to do a casual stroll and bathroom break, and just as happy to do long, multiple-mile walks. As I've gotten used to my whole life, I will always pick up after your dog and will make sure they stay safe and close to me by using whatever leash and collar you can provide. And no matter the weather, I'm still happy to spend the time outside with your dog! If you just need me to stop by to feed your pet and take them for a potty break outside, then I will happily pick up after them in the yard and after they are done eating. I grew up in nice home with a Mom who always taught me to keep things clean, organized, have good manners, and when at others homes to always leave things cleaner than how it was when I arrived. I've upheld these morals in college and so if you'd like me to stay with your pet for extended periods of time at your home, I'm the most trustworthy and respectful person to hire!

I’m currently a senior in college who has free time and thought I could use it to my advantage and meet some cute pets! About: I absolutely adore animals. I feel so completely honored when a client trusts me to take care of their precious furkids! I have been doing this a long time, about 12 years! I’ve had animals all my life (gerbils, birds, fish, a newt, cats, dogs). I’ve cared for sheep, horses, donkeys, and all the traditional pets. What are my strengths? Why should you choose me? Well, I have anxiety which has proven to be a huge asset with this job haha. I triple check medicine doses, I am a fanatic about fresh water and making sure an animal’s needs are met and they’re as happy as I can possibly make them. I relate strongly to anxious pets and have a lot of patience for them; I know a few tricks to get them to be more comfortable. I work with reactive dogs and understand it’s fear and take all the precautions needed to keep everyone safe. I’m also learning positive-reinforcement dog training? Need help? I’ll do what I can but I am not a certified trainer yet but know a few things and am always trying to learn more! When you leave on vacation I so totally understand how scary it can be to leave behind your little critters with a stranger. I try hard to make it a vacation for them as well. For dogs that means I’ll ask what their favorite activities and treats are. If dog park trips are allowed, we will hit them up! Do they like swimming? Then it’s off to Stoughton for a dip in the water! I also check the water quality. Again, anxiety is an asset cause it keeps your pets safe! How about your cats? What are they into? What toys do they like most? I like to make toys to put on wands to keep it fresh and interesting. Cats are curious and love to explore so I will likely ask if I can build forts for them. I love doing that and I have rarely met a cat who wasn’t interested in checking out something new! Again, it’s about making sure the pets are having a special and fun time while you’re having a great time, too. I love taking pics and send a lot and update you on how things are going. I would love that as a pet owner and would hate for you to have to wonder if they’re ok. I’d rather you know they are. That said, I will also let you know if something doesn’t seem quite right. As much as I hate to worry a client, safety first. I monitor anything a bit strange and have no qualms about taking a pet to the vet to be safe. Ideally we will discuss that first unless it’s an emergency then we just gotta get there. That’s rare but needs to be discussed firstly so the name of the vet you use will help me a lot. What else? I’m passionate about what I do. I find things to love with all the animals I care for and especially love how my clients love their pets. Like to leave a ton of notes? Cool! I want to do what you prefer. Anytime we can stick to their routine means less stress for the animals and I’m all for that. I’ve given a lot of meds over the years, pills, insulin, feeding tubes, subcutaneous fluids…. I’m not afraid of any of that. I even know what to do if your pet is having a seizure but please provide gloves for that medication haha. Feel free to ask me anything. This is my full-time job. I’m devoted to working around your timeframe to keep visits and stays as consistent as possible. I like to be there when you expect me to be. At my house it’s really just a resting area as it’s small. I take on very few dogs as a result because I have 2 cats. Our fun at my place revolves around dog park trips, pet store trips, and group walks. Your dog would be my sidekick! In a client’s home it varies since it’s about what you want. The first question I’ll ask you is what is their daily routine like? When do they wake up, when so they eat, do they have a set walk route or can it be varied; which dogs do we need to avoid, if any. Same for cats, how is their day spent? How do you pet them? How do you play with them? How do you talk to them? I want to know what they like and you’re the expert here. That said, I do like to introduce fun, new toys and experiences if allowed to make it extra special.
