About: Animals have always been an important part of my life. Growing up, I cared for rabbits, hamsters, mice, and a pet rat. Today I share my home with my 13 year old cat, Meeko, and my housemate’s friendly 12 year old dog. I recently said goodbye to my senior cat after 16 wonderful years together. During the last few years of his life, I administered medication multiple times a day and became experienced in caring for an aging pet with extra medical needs. That experience strengthened my patience, attention to detail, and understanding that every pet deserves individualized, compassionate care. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, or simply relaxing with company, I’ll treat them with the same love and respect I give my own pets. I work full-time during the week 8:30-4:30, so I’m available for drop-in visits and dog walks before and after work (6-7:30 AM, and after 4:30 pm M-F), as well as most weekends and holidays. I also offer limited weekend boarding for one dog at a time so I can provide each guest with plenty of individual attention and care. My goal is to be flexible while making sure every pet receives the time and attention they deserve. Whether I’m caring for your pet in my home or yours, my priority is making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I know pets thrive on routine, so I’ll follow your instructions closely—from feeding schedules and walks to medications, favorite toys, and bedtime routines. During drop-in visits, I’ll make sure your pet gets plenty of attention, playtime, potty breaks, fresh water, and lots of affection. I understand that having a stranger in the house can be stressful for both pets and owners, so I’ll always treat your home with the same care and respect I would my own. For boarding, I have a securely fenced backyard for supervised outdoor play. I only accept one boarding dog at a time so I can provide a calm, personalized experience and ensure every pet receives plenty of attention. My home also includes my cat and my housemate’s dog, so I only accept dogs that are comfortable around cats and other dogs. This helps create a calm, safe environment for everyone.

“We are looking to find someone to board Ollie with for weekends. To start him out slow (he has separation anxiety), we had a Meet and Greet, a short (3hr) stay and later, a full day stay. Julie was clear that her dog Zilla's comfort with Ollie was a priority, which I fully support. I won't want to trust my dog to someone who isn't looking out for ALL the dogs involved. Julie was very responsive with messages, showed us around her home and yard and was generally very calm and patient. While the dogs didn't end up getting along well enough for this to work out long term, Ollie warmed up to Julie and was definitely as calm as I've seen him after being left.”

About: Hi! My name is Rona. I grew up on a farm in the Philippines. As a child, my parents always had dogs and cats at home. I’ve experienced taking care of many different types of animals. It was quite challenging but it’s fun! When I came here, we adopted Maggie and Lyka when they were still puppies. Maggie is a 7 years old Pug and Lyka is a 3 years old Boston Terrier. I love them so much! They are both lovable and friendly. Our neighbors and friends have relied on me to groom, walk, feed and bathe their dogs while they were away. My house sits in a shady private area and is surrounded by parks and trails so there will be a lot of running around and play time when your dog is cared for by me. I can do oral medication administration, I have had a senior dog experience and can provide daily exercise for your pups. My schedule is flexible so I can usually take on new dogs at a moment’s notice. I will update you regularly with pictures and videos to give you peace of mind during your time apart. I am working from home so most of my time will be caring for your fur baby. Daycare drop-off no earlier than 6:00 am and pick-up hours anytime in the afternoon. We have a large fenced backyard and our two dogs, Maggie (Pug) and Lyka (Boston Terrier) are very good with all dogs. They love to play and will keep your fur baby company during their stay. About: Hi! I’m currently a graduate student at UW–Madison and looking for some pet-sitting opportunities—especially with dogs! I’ve been dog-sitting for about 6 years, primarily for friends, family, and referrals. Since moving to Madison last year, I’ve been excited to meet some new pups in the area! I grew up with Labradors and a Yorkie, so I’m comfortable caring for dogs of all sizes, ages, and personalities. Weekends are generally preferred since I have the most availability then, but I’m also open to weekday opportunities if they can work around my class schedule, especially during the summer when my schedule is a bit more flexible. I’m also relatively new to Rover and currently working on building my clientele in the Madison area, so I’d love the opportunity to provide excellent care for your pets! 🐾 My weekends are when I have the largest availability as I am a full-time graduate student. Pet sitting Thursday-Sunday or Monday is my ideal timeline but I am definitely open to week long care if I am able to make it work with my class schedule. I would prefer to watch the dog in your home as I rent my current home and it does not allow animals. However, when at your home I will make sure your pup is always happy and all of their needs are met. In terms of safety, I will always have them on a leash or in a gated area when needed.

About: Hi there! I moved to Fitchburg, WI in 2024 and I’m ready to start pet walking/sitting again. For years in Denver and Boulder, CO and in Lansing, MI, I helped neighbors exercise their dogs by either walking or running them while their owners were at work. For the super active dogs (for example, those who can run 4 min miles), I took them to the park to run while I kept up on roller blades. I've adopted overweight dogs and slowly trained them up to being able to hike two 14ers in a day! I'm also happy to help with simple drop in feedings and potty breaks if need be. If you're in the midst of an especially busy period at work, injured, or going out of town, I'm happy to help out with your pets. I welcome small, big, special needs, overweight, mutts, 'bully' breeds, and everything in between-I love them all. I also have two cats so I’m happy to help check in on your feline friends too. My schedule is currently very flexible, which allows me to accommodate pet care throughout the week. I keep my Rover calendar updated regularly so that my availability is ans accurate as possible. Currently I don’t have the space to sit your dog or cat at my house but I’m happy to go check in on them at your place once or twice (or even 3x) a day as needed. About: I absolutely adore animals. I feel so completely honored when a client trusts me to take care of their precious furkids! I have been doing this a long time, about 12 years! I’ve had animals all my life (gerbils, birds, fish, a newt, cats, dogs). I’ve cared for sheep, horses, donkeys, and all the traditional pets. What are my strengths? Why should you choose me? Well, I have anxiety which has proven to be a huge asset with this job haha. I triple check medicine doses, I am a fanatic about fresh water and making sure an animal’s needs are met and they’re as happy as I can possibly make them. I relate strongly to anxious pets and have a lot of patience for them; I know a few tricks to get them to be more comfortable. I work with reactive dogs and understand it’s fear and take all the precautions needed to keep everyone safe. I’m also learning positive-reinforcement dog training? Need help? I’ll do what I can but I am not a certified trainer yet but know a few things and am always trying to learn more! When you leave on vacation I so totally understand how scary it can be to leave behind your little critters with a stranger. I try hard to make it a vacation for them as well. For dogs that means I’ll ask what their favorite activities and treats are. If dog park trips are allowed, we will hit them up! Do they like swimming? Then it’s off to Stoughton for a dip in the water! I also check the water quality. Again, anxiety is an asset cause it keeps your pets safe! How about your cats? What are they into? What toys do they like most? I like to make toys to put on wands to keep it fresh and interesting. Cats are curious and love to explore so I will likely ask if I can build forts for them. I love doing that and I have rarely met a cat who wasn’t interested in checking out something new! Again, it’s about making sure the pets are having a special and fun time while you’re having a great time, too. I love taking pics and send a lot and update you on how things are going. I would love that as a pet owner and would hate for you to have to wonder if they’re ok. I’d rather you know they are. That said, I will also let you know if something doesn’t seem quite right. As much as I hate to worry a client, safety first. I monitor anything a bit strange and have no qualms about taking a pet to the vet to be safe. Ideally we will discuss that first unless it’s an emergency then we just gotta get there. That’s rare but needs to be discussed firstly so the name of the vet you use will help me a lot. What else? I’m passionate about what I do. I find things to love with all the animals I care for and especially love how my clients love their pets. Like to leave a ton of notes? Cool! I want to do what you prefer. Anytime we can stick to their routine means less stress for the animals and I’m all for that. I’ve given a lot of meds over the years, pills, insulin, feeding tubes, subcutaneous fluids…. I’m not afraid of any of that. I even know what to do if your pet is having a seizure but please provide gloves for that medication haha. Feel free to ask me anything. This is my full-time job. I’m devoted to working around your timeframe to keep visits and stays as consistent as possible. I like to be there when you expect me to be. At my house it’s really just a resting area as it’s small. I take on very few dogs as a result because I have 2 cats. Our fun at my place revolves around dog park trips, pet store trips, and group walks. Your dog would be my sidekick! In a client’s home it varies since it’s about what you want. The first question I’ll ask you is what is their daily routine like? When do they wake up, when so they eat, do they have a set walk route or can it be varied; which dogs do we need to avoid, if any. Same for cats, how is their day spent? How do you pet them? How do you play with them? How do you talk to them? I want to know what they like and you’re the expert here. That said, I do like to introduce fun, new toys and experiences if allowed to make it extra special.
