About: I had a Maltese poodle mix for about 14 years. He recently passed last Thanksgiving. I have experience pet sitting, cleaning up, grooming, and feeding. And I also have experience caring for older dogs. I’m currently studying at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I live on campus, local and my schedule is pretty open. I have availability mornings and evenings most days, and have flexible hours. I mostly offer dog walking services. And I can provide them with water and bowls as needed. I can also walk them to local parks or other locations.

“Anna took great care of our kitties! We have two nervous boy kitties, and she was very gentle with them and made sure they were okay, and she sent pics at each visit (which we looked forward to every time!!) Thank you so much Anna!”

About: I can't remember a time in my life where I haven't owned a dog or a cat. Many of our friends and family asked for me to watch or walk their dogs when I was a kid. Five years ago, I started a job at a pet store, so my animal care really dove deep as I learned to care for a variety of animals, from dogs and cats to fish and reptiles. I now work as a vet tech assistant and receptionist for a vet clinic in Madison! No condition will scare me off. I love all types of pets, big and small, and I will ensure that any animal put into my care is treated just like family. I'm a part time receptionist and tech at a vet clinic during the week, so pet sitting sessions will come before or after work on the days that I am in. I can stay with your pet at nights, head to work, and return straight to your home after. My weekends are typically open, barring any emergencies or trips, but I am good about updating my calendar. I am very flexible. If you need me to stay in your home with your pet, I can, I will just need to leave for work or other commitments during the day. I will not overbook myself or put your pet's well-being aside for spontaneous plans, as their care is my first priority.
“Natalie was amazing checking on my kitties while I was gone! She sent great pictures and I could tell that they were very loved. Definitely recommend!!”

About: I have taken care of neighbors pets since I was 10 and have always lived with Golden Retrievers. Currently, my family has two 75lb English cream retrievers (3 & 6) who I try to walk everyday when I’m home. I love pets of all sizes and energy levels! I work part time this summer researching at UW. My schedule is very flexible and I have a car to travel with. Reach out to me whenever! I can almost certainly make any time work. I can feed your pets, give medicine, let them out/clean litter, walk them and play with them! Anything needed to keep your pets happy and healthy!
“This was my first time working with Jen, and it went perfectly! Jen was communicative, sent tons of photos, learned the tricks to capture my scardey cats' love and trust within just a couple of days, and left me feeling like I had someone reliable and trustworthy entering my home and caring for my fur babies! Thank you so much, Jen!”

About: I am a recent graduate of Purdue University in Indiana, now pursuing a law degree at the University of Wisconsin! I am an avid animal lover, and know I will be missing my own mini bernedoodle (Moose) while I am away for school! I have been dog sitting/house sitting/babysitting/etc. ever since I got my driver’s license at 16! I love spending time with others’ pups! I would love to meet you and help you and your pup out however I can! I am a full time student, with a somewhat flexible schedule. I anticipate that my days will involve a lot of studying, but will allow for some flexibility for me to help with potty breaks, walks, feedings, and more! I want to care for your pets in a way that meets all of their individual needs! I am happy to cater to their schedule, preferences, etc. whenever my school schedule allows! Unfortunately my lease does not allow me to care for pets in my home.
“We really appreciated Hannah. She was prompt and professional and showed immense comfort around my 3 dogs who had never been let out by someone they didn't know. I'd use her every time!”

“Tara was so kind and caring towards my golden retriever pup. She’s super knowledgeable about puppy training and I cant wait to work with her again! Thank you so much, Tara!”

“Amy was great! I could tell see really cared about the cats. She did an amazing job catering for my more shy cat, making sure she got food even though she was hiding.”

About: Eric and Rachel share a love for their beloved Aussie-beagle Lilo and fostering rescue dogs together. We know that it is never easy to leave your beloved dog with someone new, and in a new place. As our own Lilo has struggled with separation anxiety before, we know how important it is to have a pet sitter who is present, patient, and able to cater their care towards a dog’s specific needs. Rachel has taken care of 6 different family dogs growing up, including a border collie, golden retriever, Boston terrier, 2 mixed breeds and a silky terrier. Eric has taken care of his family dog (chihuahua mix) since birth till now (9 years old). Together, we have fostered 12 rescue dogs these past two years, ranging from high energy Great Pyrenees to 3 Border Collie puppies all at once, to a completely afraid and anxious Beagle mama and Shiba Inu mama that are recovering from very difficult situations. We have also looked after a Rhodesian Ridgeback and an American pit bull. Our own dog is a 2.5 year old Aussie-beagle. We both have lots of experience working with dogs of all kinds of temperaments and needs, especially high energy dogs who require a lot of attention and care, and administering medication to dogs who have special needs. Rachel also loves cooking her home cooked meals for her dog, and can do that for yours too, if you need! We both work from home and have all weekends free. Our flexible schedules together allows us to bring dogs regularly on walks and to look after them consistently. We follow instructions really well, and can take care of your dog according to your requirements. We allow dogs to roam and sleep freely in our home, but we can also crate your dog easily if you prefer. We know how to work with your dog with lots of gentle care and love.

“My pups loved Beatrice during her drop-in visits throughout the week! She provided great pictures of both of them which let me knew that my dogs were well taken care of while I was busy at work. Thank you so much! I will definitely book her again for other dates! :)”

“We LOVE Eleyna! She was so amazing with our dogs and each of their needs. Communicated/sent pictures the entire time & made sure to know every detail to best care for them. Seriously can’t recommend her enough”

“Sofi was patient and caring for my dog. My dog warmed up to Sofi more and more each drop in visit. She was great at communicating and sent adorable pictures. Very reliable!”

“Seanna did a great job with my cat. Her reports were detailed with lots of photos illustrating their play together. I felt very confident leaving my car in her care and plan to hire her again.”

“We literally could not be happier with the care we got from Vanessa. This was our first extended time away since adopting Finn where a friend or relative (usually his grandma) was not available to cat-sit so we were pretty nervous how all of this would work. Finn is extremely nervous with new people and even with ones he’s met a few times. But Finn absolutely loved Vanessa as her photos and videos easily showed. Within her first visit, she had photos of him rolling over to show his belly - the ultimate sign that he was so comfortable with her. We really appreciated Vanessa’s communication with us during the entire process. There is a 100% chance we will hire her again. Anyone who’s nervous about leaving their separation-anxiety cat alone for a few days should really be confident Vanessa is going to go a long way in making you comfortable.”

“Alissa was very communicative during her check-ins with my cats. She sent lots of pictures and videos which was reassuring to know my cats are in good hands :) Will definitely rebook next time I’m out of town!”

“Alex was very attentive to our two cats and provided regular updates along with pictures. We appreciated that he was available during the holidays, and we would recommend him!”

About: I have always loved animals. I was the kid that would bring stray animals home asking my parents if I could keep them. I have always had dogs in my family homes. I graduated from Iowa State University with an Animal Science degree in May of 2016. I have dog sat for other families in the Waterloo/Cedar Falls area. I honestly love dog sitting and I have even taken care of some turtles and tortoises. I don’t really think of pet sitting as a job, but rather an opportunity to provide a safe and loving environment for your family pets while you are on vacation or if you have other obligations. I know how difficult it is to find someone who cares for your animals as you do, and I would truly love to be that person.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Madison
Anna was absolutely amazing! She was reliable, communicative, and went above and beyond to make sure my dog was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. I received thoughtful updates and photos that gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. My dog absolutely adored her, and it was obvious they formed a great bond. Anna treated my pup like one of her own. If you’re looking for someone who is kind, trustworthy, dependable, and truly passionate about dogs, I can’t recommend Anna enough. I will definitely be booking with her again.
Seanna is absolutely the best pet sitter we could ever ask for!! Every time we have to go out of town, we know our kitties will be in such good hands. So communicative, takes a million photos, and overall loves our fur babies as if they were hers. I could go on for pages on why you should choose Seanna and how amazing she is! 💛

I have only positive things to say about Sierra P. She was reliable, kind, and excellent in her communication with me. I missed Rodney so much and it did my heart good to see morning and evening photos of him, and know his up-to-date activities. I would ask Sierra for pet care again in a heartbeat. She was punctual, careful, and great at following directions. Thank you Rover and Sierra!!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
