“Eleyna is truly wonderful to work with, and I can’t recommend her highly enough! She's taken care of my cat Oliver before, so I already knew he was in excellent hands. She is incredibly kind, thoughtful, and communicative, and always kept me updated, which I really appreciated. She took such great care of Oliver and clearly paid close attention to his needs and routine. I came home to a spotless home, which was such a lovely bonus after traveling. I would love to work with her again anytime!”

“My pups loved Beatrice during her drop-in visits throughout the week! She provided great pictures of both of them which let me knew that my dogs were well taken care of while I was busy at work. Thank you so much! I will definitely book her again for other dates! :)”

“Natalie did a great job! She came and fed my kitty twice for 30 minutes each time. She was very communicative and nice. She also clipped my cat’s nails for me!”

“Jen was very professional and communicative. She took excellent care of my 3 cats and sent me many pictures to show they were doing ok. I felt very comfortable trusting her with my cats and will utilize her services again in the future!”

About: Dogs control my life! By day I am a receptionist at a local vet clinic/rescue. At home, I have a rescue Chihuahua who is 8 years old and has been with me for 4 wonderful years. My whole day revolves around pets and I can't get enough. I'll treat your pets like the sweet baby angels they deserve to be! I work a later schedule most days of the week, Monday through Thursday I'm in the clinic until 7, and Fridays 9-5. I have plenty of time for morning and night walks, breakfast and dinnertime! I treat my clients home better than my own. You won't even know I was there! I'm clean, respectful and knowledgeable. I will stick with you and your pets daily schedules, so their routines don't get disturbed.

About: Animals have always been an important part of my life. Growing up, I cared for rabbits, hamsters, mice, and a pet rat. Today I share my home with my 13 year old cat, Meeko, and my housemate’s friendly 12 year old dog. I recently said goodbye to my senior cat after 16 wonderful years together. During the last few years of his life, I administered medication multiple times a day and became experienced in caring for an aging pet with extra medical needs. That experience strengthened my patience, attention to detail, and understanding that every pet deserves individualized, compassionate care. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, or simply relaxing with company, I’ll treat them with the same love and respect I give my own pets. I work full-time during the week, so I’m available for drop-in visits and dog walks before and after work, as well as evenings, weekends, and holidays. I also offer limited weekend boarding for one dog at a time so I can provide each guest with plenty of individual attention and care. My goal is to be flexible while making sure every pet receives the time and attention they deserve. Whether I’m caring for your pet in my home or yours, my priority is making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I know pets thrive on routine, so I’ll follow your instructions closely—from feeding schedules and walks to medications, favorite toys, and bedtime routines. During drop-in visits, I’ll make sure your pet gets plenty of attention, playtime, potty breaks, fresh water, and lots of affection. I understand that having a stranger in the house can be stressful for both pets and owners, so I’ll always treat your home with the same care and respect I would my own. For boarding, I have a securely fenced backyard for supervised outdoor play. I only accept one boarding dog at a time so I can provide a calm, personalized experience and ensure every pet receives plenty of attention. My home also includes my cat and my housemate’s dog, so I only accept dogs that are comfortable around cats and other dogs. This helps create a calm, safe environment for everyone.
“Seanna was great with my cat and was super adaptable on short notice, which I really appreciate. Highly recommend her and I’ll certainly reach out next time I’m away!”

About: I’m a pre veterinary student, and I intern at an urgent care vet clinic, which gave me a lot of experience understanding important health signs, but also has taught me to be comfortable with dogs of all energy levels, personality, etc. Additionally, I am a dog walker at a local shelter. I’m comfortable giving meds, helping with senior pets, and making sure every pet feels safe and loved. Whether your pup needs playtime, slow walks, or just some good snuggles, I’ve got it covered! I am currently interning part time and well as volunteering at a local shelter, but I have lots of free time this summer!. I have time during the days for walks and check ins and am so eager to spend the time I have in the area helping where I can! I have a dog that absolutely loves playing! He is very small, but he gets along with dogs of all sizes and can play in my fenced in yard! If I am at your home, I will adjust to match the energy of your pet, and ensure they feel safe and comfortable while providing them with proper care.
“Amy was great! I could tell see really cared about the cats. She did an amazing job catering for my more shy cat, making sure she got food even though she was hiding.”

About: I am a vet student who has experience taking care of other dogs, cats, and even birds while working in a vet clinic! I am able to administer medications, take care of senior pets, and those with disabilities!! Growing up, I also have taken care of both cats and dogs in my family😊. I am currently only working virtually and part-time for a research paper in veterinary medicine, so I am able to comfortably accommodate Rover and pet-sitting in my schedule! I have learned in the past to adhere to owners’ specific instructions and ask questions if they arise to provide the best care for their pet. While taking care of pets in the vet clinic, I respect their boundaries, closely monitor their health/behavior, and try to minimize any stress or fear they could be experiencing. With pets at home, I love to spend as much time giving them love and affection or stimulating their mind with play-time and toys!
“Hillary took great care of my senior kitty, which involved daily pilling. She sent me very informative check-in summaries after each visit and helped me feel at ease leaving my cat after several pandemic years at home. I will happily book with Hillary again!”

“Vanessa really has a way of putting me and the cats at ease. She was very professional during the meet and greet, took notes while I explained the feeding routine and asked relevant questions. I left for my trip knowing the cats would be in good hands. She also takes great pet photos. I felt like she really respected each of my cats and their individual boundaries. I highly recommend Vanessa to anyone needing cat care.”

“We really appreciated Hannah. She was prompt and professional and showed immense comfort around my 3 dogs who had never been let out by someone they didn't know. I'd use her every time!”

“We scheduled Rhiannon for a number of drop-in visits while we were on vacation, and WOW, she was an absolutely amazing fit. She sent us photo updates with each drop-in, gave our fuzzy little friends much-needed attention and playtime, and ensured our cat who had just undergone a tooth extraction was recovering well. We would definitely rebook Rhiannon for all our Rover needs in the future.”

About: I have taken care of neighbors pets since I was 10 and have always lived with Golden Retrievers. Currently, my family has two 75lb English cream retrievers (3 & 6) who I try to walk everyday when I’m home. I love pets of all sizes and energy levels! I work part time this summer researching at UW. My schedule is very flexible and I have a car to travel with. Reach out to me whenever! I can almost certainly make any time work. I can feed your pets, give medicine, let them out/clean litter, walk them and play with them! Anything needed to keep your pets happy and healthy!

“Karly did such a great job with my 2 cats! She was so organized, arrived on time, spent quality time with them, and sent the cutest pictures. I would definitely recommend her as a sitter.”

“Alex did a wonderful job feeding and caring for Ferd, our cat, while we were away. He sent timely updates, and was very communicative. I highly recommend Alex for drop-in feedings/visits!”

About: I have always loved animals. I was the kid that would bring stray animals home asking my parents if I could keep them. I have always had dogs in my family homes. I graduated from Iowa State University with an Animal Science degree in May of 2016. I have dog sat for other families in the Waterloo/Cedar Falls area. I honestly love dog sitting and I have even taken care of some turtles and tortoises. I don’t really think of pet sitting as a job, but rather an opportunity to provide a safe and loving environment for your family pets while you are on vacation or if you have other obligations. I know how difficult it is to find someone who cares for your animals as you do, and I would truly love to be that person.

“Abigail was WONDERFUL during her drop in visits for our 3 cats. She had great communication, was on time every morning, and our cats were comfortable enough to play with her each day. It feels wonderful to find a care giver we can trust! 10/10 recommend!”

Amazing as always. This is my third time using her. Her communication is great, my shy cats love her and the pictures she takes are so adorable. I’ve had a not so great experience with a rover sitter prior, but I trust her so much. Having peace of mind that my babies are well taken care of feels so nice!

Kat is exactly the person we need and want when we go away. I have absolutely no worries and can enjoy time away knowing she is watching out little bun. She means the most to us and can be very skittish but every time Kat has been her sitter, paanįks attitude and mannerisms are as if we never left. That means the MOST to us. I’d trust Kat with her every time. (She is also always on schedule, and works around ours if anything changes which is extremely considerate)

Seanna is absolutely the best pet sitter we could ever ask for!! Every time we have to go out of town, we know our kitties will be in such good hands. So communicative, takes a million photos, and overall loves our fur babies as if they were hers. I could go on for pages on why you should choose Seanna and how amazing she is! 💛

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Madison. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
