About: I can't remember a time in my life where I haven't owned a dog or a cat. Many of our friends and family asked for me to watch or walk their dogs when I was a kid. Five years ago, I started a job at a pet store, so my animal care really dove deep as I learned to care for a variety of animals, from dogs and cats to fish and reptiles. I now work as a vet tech assistant and receptionist for a vet clinic in Madison! No condition will scare me off. I love all types of pets, big and small, and I will ensure that any animal put into my care is treated just like family. I'm a part time receptionist and tech at a vet clinic during the week, so pet sitting sessions will come before or after work on the days that I am in. I can stay with your pet at nights, head to work, and return straight to your home after. My weekends are typically open, barring any emergencies or trips, but I am good about updating my calendar. I am very flexible. If you need me to stay in your home with your pet, I can, I will just need to leave for work or other commitments during the day. I will not overbook myself or put your pet's well-being aside for spontaneous plans, as their care is my first priority.
About: Hi! I’m a graduate student who loves animals and understands how important it is to find someone you trust to care for them. I have experience caring for dogs with different temperaments, including dogs with anxiety and dogs who need medication or extra patience. I’m very responsible, detail oriented, and I take pet care seriously - I know I’m caring for a member of your family. I’m happy to follow your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including walks, feeding schedules, crate routines, and any specific instructions you have. I’ll also send regular updates and photos so you know your pet is doing well. My schedule is flexible, and I’m available for drop in visits, walks, and house sitting. I’m reliable and will always communicate clearly about timing and availability. Your pet’s safety and comfort comes first. I follow routines, use secure leashes, provide updates, and create a calm, safe, consistent environment for your pet

“What a gem! Nate provided compassionate care for my sweet kitties while I was away and kept me well informed of their well being and how the check in went. Would highly recommend him and will certainly keep him in mind for future events.”

“Natalie took very good care of our cat while we were out of town for the holidays for a few days. Our cat is a chronic vomiter and as a result she has a strict food routine and sometimes requires topical anti-nausea medicine. Natalie followed all our instructions for the food and was able to apply the medicine easily. She was also very comminicative and responded quickly to messages. We would happily have her take care of our cat again!”

“We have had Jen take care of our two cats several times now, and she is the best!! She sends amazing photos so we can see our sweet kitties, but most importantly is meticulous with their care. She goes above and beyond to clean their dishes so they have pristine food and water bowls, make sure they get tons of affection, and have tidy litter boxes. When they have had some hairballs, she has cleaned those up thoughtfully. As a person who adores my pets and is persnickety about their care. I would recommend her highly!!!”

“We really appreciated Hannah. She was prompt and professional and showed immense comfort around my 3 dogs who had never been let out by someone they didn't know. I'd use her every time!”

“Amy did such an amazing job! Even my shy cat came out for photos. She took extra care to ensure she was playing with them, which felt great as some people assume “they are just cats” and don’t need that extra interaction. Her updates were thorough, and I’m definitely getting some of the pictures she took of them framed!! After an especially scarring experience with a prior sitter, it feels nice to be able to trust someone again. Will definitely be using her again”

“Hannah was so great! She took great care of our cat Etta. We got daily photos and reports, she even closed our shed door when a big storm blew it open. We will happily hire her again!”

“We were grateful that Stephanie could help us out over the holidays. She was so gracious to pick up the keys and meet Layla on Christmas Day. Layla loved her. Everything went very smoothly. We highly recommend Stephanie!”

“Ashley did an amazing job and gave us so much peace of mind while we were traveling! Our bonded pair has a small scuffle a few days before our trip and I was extremely nervous to leave them but drop in visits from Ashley made sure everyone got the love and attention they needed! Our shy girl Pepper even seemed to take to her after her first couple visits, and the updates and photos Ashley shared really helped us relax and enjoy our trip!”

“Allegra was absolutely wonderful with our two senior dogs! She gave them the extra care and attention they needed, and her beautifully written, detailed report cards gave us such peace of mind while we were away. It’s clear she truly cares about the pets she looks after — we couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. Highly recommend!”

“Karly was wonderful. It was our first time away from our kitties and such a relief to know that they were in attentive and caring hands. Karly was super reliable and helpful, and kept us updated. Would definitely recommend her as a sitter.”

“Eleyna is truly wonderful to work with, and I can’t recommend her highly enough! She's taken care of my cat Oliver before, so I already knew he was in excellent hands. She is incredibly kind, thoughtful, and communicative, and always kept me updated, which I really appreciated. She took such great care of Oliver and clearly paid close attention to his needs and routine. I came home to a spotless home, which was such a lovely bonus after traveling. I would love to work with her again anytime!”

“Alissa was wonderful as always! I’ve booked with Alissa a few times now, and she goes above and beyond with all the pictures she sends and very detailed updates after each visit. She’s helped clean up after accidents and keep my cats from getting into any mischief.”

“Isabel is extremely reliable and patient with our new puppy. She comes over when she says she’ll come, and she takes lots of pictures and notes during her visit, which we really appreciate. She plays with our dog inside and outside and makes sure he gets some good attention while we’re away at work. Would highly recommend her!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs of every kind since I was in high school. Neighbors, friends and family have relied on me to walk, feed and groom their pets. I work during the day mostly but I can provide care during the day if needed especially in the evenings, overnight, and on the weekends. I provide a safe environment for your animal to walk, play, and be themselves. I can even help provide structure and training to your animal if needed.
“It was our first time leaving our kitty for an extended period of time - Anna took excellent care of our girl! She eased my worries with frequent text and photos updates and was very patient getting to know our cat. We also ran into some technical issues (on my end) and Anna was very flexible! We are so grateful for her.”

“Kim was so easy to work with - she responds to messages very quickly, sent written and picture updates, and had a simple set-up for key drop off and pick up. I could tell my cat was very well cared for while I was gone!”

“Amira was an excellent sitter! We came back to a clean house with two very happy cats. Amira went above and beyond in playing with the cats and keeping our house clean. Couldn’t have had a better experience! Thanks, Amira!”

Jennifer was great! She was detail oriented during our meet and greet and sometimes spent some extra time with Jeanie at check ins. Jeanie seemed calm when I got home and I was relieved on my trip to know that she would get her food on her regular schedule. I enjoyed getting photos because it helped me feel more at ease while away to see that Jeanie was eating and being cute as per usual. One of the photos was a really good photo of her stretching and I have since downloaded it for my collection haha. Thank you again!

Hannah is simply fantastic! I would happily rebook her without hesitation to look after our adorable cats, Meeko and Princess. :) She paid close attention to everything I shared during the meet-and-greet and throughout messages during drop-in visits, and I truly appreciated that. :) I highly recommend Hannah as a wonderful cat sitter!

Natalie was great! She was thoughtful, thorough, attentive and generally very communicative and sent such cute pictures! My cat really loved her company and I loved all the detailed updates Natalie sent each day while I was gone out of town. I already rebooked her again for next month soon as this first booking ended. Thank you, Natalie!

Sierra did an amazing job with my very nervous kitty! By the end of the week the cat was showing her belly, playing, and asking for pets! Really speaks to Sierra’s gift and patience. Great communicator, willing to go the extra mile to make my pet happy. 10/10 would recommend!

Julia was an absolute godsend for us. My dog had quite a few issues while we were out of town, and Julia was amazing. She gave me constant updates, came to check on him regularly outside of what was originally booked, and made sure that my dog was safe and cared for. She helped ease my worries, and I would definitely rebook her, no questions asked. Our cat also loved hanging out with her!

Sarah was amazing with my cat Oliver! It gave me so much peace of mind knowing he was in such good hands while I was away. She kept me updated, took great care of him, and somehow left my apartment even cleaner than I had left it. I came home to a very happy cat and a spotless home!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Shorewood Hills. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
