“Tucker was amazing — he took great care of my fur baby and provided pics regularly AND he was gracious and unflappable in the face of some unforeseen challenges. Flexible, great communicator, and left the house cleaner than he found it. Great with following directions and proactively taking care of all the things — he even noticed the light on the automatic feeder and refilled it before I even messaged him about the notification I’d received. Perhaps best of all, he saw AJ for the loving, playful kitty that he is—so I knew AJ was feeling comfortable and that he was in good, kind hands. Would definitely recommend to others and would be glad to have his help again!”

“Our pups had a great experience with Louisa over the two days we were out of town. We came back to two happy and well cared for little guys. I loved the daily pictures, nice personal touch. Louisa checked in with us making sure we’re made it back. Very grateful!”

“Alexandra was great! She provided us with regular updates so we knew our pets were getting the care they need. We can tell they had a good weekend with her. We will definitely be booking again. Thanks, Alexandra!”

“Lucy was great! I appreciated that she wanted to meet my dog in advance since she would be spending two nights at my place. It was helpful to show her around and introduce her to my anxious dog. Lucy was a prompt responder and clear communicator. My dog was in a good mood when we got home from our trip which gave me peace of mind that he was in good hands and he was comfortable. Would definitely recommend Lucy for future house sitting needs and I hope to work with her again soon.”

“Mia was wonderful house sitting with my dog - he was happy and well cared for, she was great about communication, and the house looked wonderful when I returned. Will definitely book Mia again!”

“It was so nice to know we had a reliable, kind and experienced pet sitter! Amy took care of our two dogs, cat, and gecko and sent great pictures during her stay. We were lucky to have her!”

“Dustin was an old acquaintance of mine so I already knew that he’s a kind and wonderful person. I did NOT know that he’s also a puppy whisperer (though not surprised!). Dustin took care of our energetic 4 month-old great pyr/retriever puppy while we were away for a week. He kept her company within his flexible work schedule. She was happy and engaged, safe and healthy. He also kept her space tidy, vacuumed before we got back, and did our mail and trash. He communicated daily over text with pics and updates on how she was doing, which helped us to miss her a little less. :) Dustin is 100% reliable and a stand-up guy. Highly recommend!”

“Smooth meet-up & sitting experience, and great level of communication! She was reliable and trustworthy in taking care of our pups and the house. Would definitely work with you again and looking forward to it!”
“Samantha is a very good worker. She is very responsable and she is always on time. She took care of Rokko very well and Rokko was very happy since the first moment. We appreciated her work very much.”

“Sarah was so great with Hamm and made sure he received all the attention he needed! It was our first time leaving for the weekend since we got Hamm, and it was a comfort knowing Hamm was well taken care of while we were gone. She made sure to send all the cute pics of Hamm and was great to communicate with. Will definitely be booking with her again!!”

“Sasha seemed comfortable with Brenda right away at our meet and greet and it seemed like she was happy and well cared for while we were away for a long weekend. Brenda left the house clean and tidy.”

About: I’ve grown up surrounded by animals and can’t imagine life without them! Over the years, my family had six dogs and two cats, so I’m very familiar with different breeds, personalities, and care routines. From daily walks and playtime to administering medications and giving lots of love, I’ve done it all. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, or somewhere in between, I’m confident in creating a safe, calm, and fun environment for them! Pet care is something I truly enjoy and make time for in my daily routine. I’m used to early morning walks, feeding schedules, and making sure pets get the attention they need throughout the day. Whether it’s quick potty breaks, play sessions, or just keeping them company, I’m happy to build my day around making sure they feel safe, cared for, and loved. Flexible scheduling also allows me to adapt to each pet’s unique needs and energy level. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or visiting a client’s, I prioritize their comfort, safety, and routine. In my home, I create a calm and pet-friendly environment with plenty of space to play and relax, and I make sure they get lots of attention and regular exercise. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I stick closely to their usual schedule, feeding times, walks, play, and any special instructions, to help them feel at ease while you're away. I always keep communication open with pet parents so you feel confident and updated while I’m caring for your furry friend.
“Lizzie is AMAZING! She took fantastic care of Baker and understood all of his quirks. She loved on him like he was her own pup. We highly recommend her and will rebook. :)”

“Grace was very responsible and responsive from the meet and greet to wrapping up the stay. Grace stayed with our two pups and cat for a weekend and everything went smoothly. Our one dog was recovering from an IVDD flareup with some special care needs and Grace handled everything perfectly.”

“Chris was friendly and professional and gave us many updates on our pup while we were out of town. She and the house were in great shape when we returned. We will definitely ask to work with Chris again! Thank you!”

Ellen is great with cats. My senior kitty absolutely adored her and she was attentive to his special needs and paid attention to little details during her stay. She gave me daily updates and photos and I was able to fully relax and enjoy vacation because I knew Ellen was taking good care of my cat. I highly recommend her!

Once again Maureen was fantastic with our dog, Ria! She does an excellent job sending updates and pics, keeping our dog on her schedule and walking her multiple times a day. Our dog was calm and happy when we got home, the plants were watered and the house was clean. I’m not sure what more you could ask for!

Even after only a short introduction, I immediately felt at ease leaving my 9‑year‑old Yorkie, Zoey, in Malia’s care for four days. She exceeded every expectation—responsible, attentive, and genuinely caring. Zoey was happy and well‑loved, and my apartment was spotless when I returned. I’m incredibly grateful for her help and would recommend her without hesitation. I hope to see Malia again soon. Thanks so much, Malia!
Brenda did a wonderful job taking care of our 4 cats and a bearded dragon while we were away. She picked up on our cats' personalities as soon as she met them! While some communications were a little slow, Brenda sent us updates and pictures while we were away which was much appreciated. I would hire her again.
Zachary went above and beyond while watching our 10 month old puppy, taking him to the dog park, or dropping him off at doggy daycare everyday we were away. It is obvious that our pup loves his time with him and we appreciate the excellent communication and updates we get during our time away from home.

Louisa was wonderful with our little Jynx! She stayed in contact throughout the day stopping in a number of times to feed, walk, and just let Jynx enjoy the beautiful weather sitting outside. Jynx can have some anxiety when we are gone but she was content and relaxed when we got home! Great experience and I highly recommend Louisa!! Thank you!!

Ben did a great job and taking care of Raven! Lots of pictures were sent to confirm activity and confirm happiness of my pup. She took care of her in every way and am happy he was there for her the entire time as she was having some separation anxiety at the time. Highly recommend.

Lucia was a wonderful sitter for our dog Tru! He's an older guy (11) and he got anxious and barky while we were gone. She was a great human pal to him, was creative and tolerant, communicated with us and sent pics, got him out on nice walks, and more. She's kind and very responsible; I wholeheartedly recommend her for your pets!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Shorewood Hills walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Shorewood Hills maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Shorewood Hills choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
