“Louisa was kind, responsive and took extra care to come to our hotel to watch our dog on our wedding day. We could not recommend her more highly 💜”

“Smooth meet-up & sitting experience, and great level of communication! She was reliable and trustworthy in taking care of our pups and the house. Would definitely work with you again and looking forward to it!”
About: I am a cat person through and through but I love all pets including birds, lizards and fish! I have had them all of my life and have 5 pets currently. I will not be charging extra for multiple cat households, multiple small or medium sized dogs or mixed animal households. The more the better! I have experience administering oral medications and trapping stray kittens and adult cats. For 3 years, I took care of a feral colony until I was able to S/N and rehome them as barn cats. Before having my son, I traveled frequently so I understand cancelations and modifications. I also know the feeling of being stressed out about your pets at home while being away. I promise that I am a great communicator. Since I work from home on my own schedule I can do multiple stop-ins a day at anytime. Though, every once in a while, I will have my 18 month old with me so I am not taking on very large or aggressive dogs. Though, I can make accommodations to try to be childless for your smaller dog or your cat if they are not kid friendly if the appointment is very early or after 1:00pm. In my younger days, I was a take-my-dogs- everywhere type of person until the dogs and I got older and stopped going everywhere. Having older dogs has given me experience in senior dog needs.
“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Brenda was absolutely wonderful! Her communication was great from start to finish, and she sent us pictures of our pups while we were away, which we really appreciated since we missed them so much. It gave us such peace of mind knowing they were happy and in good hands. Honestly, they weren’t even overly excited to see us when we got home — which tells me they were very well cared for and totally comfortable with Brenda! Our dogs are pretty rambunctious and full of energy, so I know she had her hands full, and we’re so grateful for the patience and care she showed them. We would 100% book with Brenda again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, attentive sitter!”

“Samantha was phenomenal! She provided great communication and provided good updates with my dog. She took amazing care of him. I had her housesitting for me and she was extremely respectful of my apartment as well. I would absolutely have Samantha help me out again!”

“Ann (again) did a great job watching our dog and house while we were on an 8 day vacation!! She sent us plenty of pictures along the way and we have high confidence in her to do it again for us next time we need her.”

“It was so nice to know we had a reliable, kind and experienced pet sitter! Amy took care of our two dogs, cat, and gecko and sent great pictures during her stay. We were lucky to have her!”

“Anne continues to be an amazing pet sitter. We had a very last minute need and she was willing to work with us. Keira loves when she comes over and has gotten very comfortable with her.”

“Allegra was AMAZING at pet sitting our dog and cat while we were gone for 5 nights. She sent updates and phots as often and was great at communicating. We returned to happy and healthy pets. I felt very confident leaving my somewhat high needs cat with her. 10/10 would recommend!”

“Tatyana did a great job with our three dogs who range in size from a 90 lb German shepherd down to a 25 lb mutt. She sent pictures and videos, and with it being the first time she watched our dogs, it made me feel 100x more comfortable. We also had one dog who needed to take medication that she ensured was administered.”

“Megan took excellent care of my pups while I was away. One of my dogs became ill right before I left. She kept me updated on his condition and her concerns, as well as handling my sassy girl! I will definitely use her services again! My pups loved her.”

“We couldn't have asked for a better experience with our recent Rover sitter! She was absolutely fantastic while watching our dog, Scooby, for the week. From the start, she excelled at being adaptable, seamlessly adjusting to Scooby’s routine and needs without any issues. We also truly appreciated the frequent, reassuring text messages and photos she sent throughout the week, which gave us total peace of mind while we were away. Most importantly, she provided Scooby with an incredible amount of love, affection, and exercise—he was a very happy pup when we returned. We highly recommend her services to anyone looking for a caring and reliable sitter!”

About: Dogs are a huge part of my life! Before moving to Wisconsin, I owned and operated a dog walking and overnight boarding business in Maryland for two years. These days, I spend much of my time fostering dogs for a local rescue, helping them decompress, learn home life, and get ready for their forever families. With three personal dogs, I’m very comfortable managing a multi-dog household and all the different personalities that come with it. I’ve cared for everything from energetic, playful pups to seniors who prefer a cozy spot on the couch, as well as rescue dogs who need extra patience, structure, or time to feel comfortable. Fostering has taught me that there really isn’t a “one size fits all” approach to dogs. I pay close attention to body language, respect boundaries, make thoughtful introductions, and adjust my approach based on what each individual dog needs. I also know how hard it can be to leave your dog behind and wonder how they’re doing. You can expect daily updates from me, including plenty of photos and videos, so you can see how your dog is settling in and what they’ve been up to. My goal is to give your dog a safe, comfortable, fun place to stay—and give you the peace of mind that they’re with someone experienced, attentive, and who truly gets dogs. Pet care fits very naturally into my everyday life. I’m a stay-at-home mom to a middle schooler and work remotely part-time, which means I’m home quite a bit and have plenty of flexibility to give the animals in my care lots of attention, love, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and downtime. With three resident dogs—a 70 lb senior mix, a 2-year-old Boston Terrier, and a 1-year-old English Bulldog/French Bulldog mix—and all three started out as fosters who never left! I continue to foster regularly and work very closely with a local dog rescue, so welcoming another dog into our routine is something the dogs are very accustomed to. Dogs staying with us aren't spending the day alone waiting for someone to come home from work. I'm around throughout the day to keep an eye on everyone, accommodate individual routines, and provide plenty of attention (or a cozy place to nap, if that's more their speed!). Pet care is genuinely part of my everyday life, and I love it that way. Here, pets are treated like part of the family. My dogs are kennel trained, but they're also welcome throughout the home—including on the furniture and beds. I'm happy to follow your lead, though! If your dog sleeps in a crate, follows certain house rules, eats on a specific schedule, or isn't allowed on furniture at home, I'll do my best to keep their routine consistent. I live in a large apartment, so all outdoor time is supervised and on leash. I'm very comfortable with puppies and their extra needs, including frequent potty breaks, potty pads, crate training, and the general chaos that comes with puppyhood! I have extra crates that can accommodate dogs up to approximately 75–80 lbs, plus more dog beds and toys than any household probably needs. If your pet has food or environmental allergies, please let me know. I am very accustomed to managing allergies and am happy to follow specific instructions regarding food, treats, medications, or environmental triggers. Because your dog will share our home with my husband, middle-school-aged child, and our three resident dogs, dogs staying with us must be comfortable with older children, men, and other dogs. I take introductions and dog body language seriously and want every animal in the house—yours and mine—to feel safe and comfortable. While others do live in the home, I will be the caregiver for any other animals. For care in your home, I'll follow your lead. You know your pets and their routine best, and my goal is to keep things as familiar and consistent as possible while you're away. I'm also happy to care for more than just dogs during in-home visits—cats and other household pets are welcome, too! Whether your pet stays with us or I care for them in their own home, I'll treat their individual routine as exactly that: individual. Some pets want to be your shadow, some want nonstop playtime, and some would prefer that I serve dinner promptly and otherwise respect their personal space. I'm good with all three!
“Once again, Jesse is incredible with our pets. She cares for them just like we would, and I couldn’t leave them with anything less than that level of love and care. Thank you Jesse for being awesome!”

“Elizabeth was amazing with my dog while I was traveling for work. She sent daily updates and many pictures. I would definitely use her services again.”

Jesse was amazing with our two pups! One of our dogs had a wound and needed some extra care, and I knew he was in very capable hands. Jesse was also super flexible with moving things around as we were having a wedding. She was a lifesaver, I would highly recommend!

It is safe to say that our kitties gave Jennifer a run for her money- one who hates strangers, the other who makes a break for the door when sitters try to leave! She handled all of it with grace and kindness. We were sent daily pictures and always felt our pets were in great hands.

Helen stayed at our home and took wonderful care of our pets. She was a great communicator before, during and after her stay. We received regular updates and photos of our pets, which was really comforting. Helen was conscientious and careful about following the instructions we provided. She left our house and animals in great condition! We'd love to have her back to sit again!
Ray did a great job with both our dogs, but especially with our older thunder-phobic dog during a week in which many storms were predicted and a few happened. Her willingness to communicate, and her good questions made her a great choice for our dogs. And our dogs were clearly happy, comfortable and well-cared for in our absence. We would definitely book her again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Middleton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Middleton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Middleton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
