“Brooke was a fantastic cat sitter for our Theo while we were away for the holidays. She provided tons of great photos and was very communicative and clearly quite caring with our little bud :)”

“Anna was so amazing with our kitties!!! :-) She sent updates and photos daily. It put our minds at ease to see that our sweet little fur babies were being so well taken care of. We will definitely reach out to her when we travel again!!”

“Hailey did amazing the pups were happy and we were happy. We only cut our trip short because I got sick but we will definitely be using her again. Thank you Hailey for taking care of Luna and Kane.”

“Jen is incredible! She is so calm and takes my two border collies in stride! She walks them, plays with them, feeds them and is always very dependable 💖 I would recommend her to anyone in the Madison area! It’s a sense of relief when I have her booked.”

“Brenda took great care of my recently adopted feline, Atticus, when I was suddenly called out of town. I found her punctuality and dependability assuring, and her approach to providing care to a skittish kitty in alignment with mine; when I arrived home, Atticus was in great shape, physically and emotionally. Absolutely recommend her with enthusiasm.”

“We couldn't have asked for a better sitter for our two cats Mochi & Frankie! Heather truly went above and beyond, giving us total peace of mind while we were away. She didn't just handle the basics, Heather took the time to really bond with our cats, sent the best photo updates, and even got my shy Covid kitty to play and come out. It’s clear Heather genuinely loves animals. We’ll definitely be booking again!" We appreciated all the updates and photos.”

“Allison has been very pleasant and professional to work with. She communicates well and always leaves a detailed report on how the visit went. I have a new 5 month old German Shepherd rescue dog (who is still recovering from surgery). She can be a handful at times. It’s been such a relief knowing that she’s in capable hands with Allison. I highly recommend her for dog walking and/or drop in visits.”
“Natalie did a great job! She came and fed my kitty twice for 30 minutes each time. She was very communicative and nice. She also clipped my cat’s nails for me!”

“Taryn did a great job with George while we were away. We appreciated knowing he was in good hands and enjoyed the updates and photos she sent us. She was a great communicator, arrived when she said she would, and took care of George like he was her own. We will definitely have Taryn back to look after him again.”

“Leah did a great job checking in on my cats while we were away. She was communicative, super nice, and followed through with what we asked. She sent lots of pictures of our cats when she checked in on them. When we got home, nothing was out of place and our cats had a clean litter box plus plenty of food and water. I definitely plan on booking Leah again in the future.”

About: I have had dogs and cats while growing up and I currently work at a dog boarding facility where I work with dogs or cats with all different kinds of personalities and needs! I am looking to provide house sitting, drop-ins, and dog walking! Depending on the day, I usually have full availability and keep my calendar updated. During the months of June and July, I babysit half days so I am looking to do drop-ins or dog walks either in the morning or afternoon! During August, I will be available during weekends and in September, I start online college so I will be available most days! In my home, I currently take care of my 3 cats. I play with them whenever I get the chance. At my work, I take care of dogs and cats and always make sure they are getting activities in during the day!
About: I grew up with dogs and miss having them in my life dearly! I have experience, walking, feeding and bathing dogs. I have experience with them all — from tiny schnauzers to giant goldendoodles that pull you along — and I would love to meet your furry friend! I have a full-time job so I’m available in the evenings and weekends for dog walking and visits. I could potentially take a calm doggo to work with me for pet sitting during the day, and I could also do early morning walks or visits when needed! When not in a fenced-in yard or dog park, I keep dogs on a leash to keep them safe. I can also adapt to your practices such as putting the dog in a harness, getting them into a crate, or closing certain doors when needed.
About: I grew up with German shepherds and horses my whole life. I have helped taken care of my neighbors and roommates cats, dogs, hamsters and guinea pigs for many years. Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Waunakee. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
