“Shatoria was absolutely awesome! She stopped in to check on my cat Olivine while my roommate and I were away for the weekend. During our initial visit, Shatoria asked a ton of questions about Olivine and her routine, some that I hadn’t even thought to bring up, which was great. During the actual visit, she passed along lots of photos of Olivine with her update. She also took a photo of her automatic feeder so I could see how Olivine had been eating, which I appreciated. I had never hired a pet sitter before, so that came with some anxiety, but Shatoria made me confident that I was leaving Olivine in great hands! I definitely know who to come to if we ever need any more help with Olivine in the future.”

“Kathryn is amazing. Extremely attentive to my baby’s needs and super flexible with our schedule. Her communication goes beyond expectation and has made our experience of rover great!”

About: Designated dog carer for family, so I figured I would expand the circle. I love going for walks and love taking a pup with me. I am working a full-time job. Mondays and Fridays, I am available from 6 am to 9:30 am. On Tuesdays through Thursdays, I am available anytime after 5:45 pm. Usually available anytime on the weekends for pet care and walking. My full-time job requires me to have respect and care for people's private information, so you can count on me to show the same respect and care for in-house sitting.

About: I have been an animal lover and owner my whole life. While I specialize in dogs and small furry friends such as rabbits, guinea pigs, and hamsters, I have watched cats and love them just as much. I pride myself on giving animals of all kinds the best care and affection they deserve. I have dogsat for friends, family, and the hardest part is saying goodbye during pickup/drop-off. In my psychology undergraduate program, I attended a canine behavior course and am very comfortable working with dogs who may need a little re-direction. While I cannot pet sit in my own home due to living with a free-roam rabbit, I am happy to drop by when needed for potty breaks, walks, play time, food and water, even for the quirkiest of pets. I am currently unemployed while looking for jobs, so my availability is very flexible depending on your pet care needs. My passion is with animals, after tending to our everything (Dr. Cheese, our rabbit), I have an open schedule and am happy to continue care for others' pets who need additional support due to travel, work, or any reason you are unavailable. While I unfortunately cannot watch pets in my own home due to our free-roam rabbit, I am very responsible, reliable, and would never let an animal go without the care they deserve.
“Kara was fantastic. She cared for our four year old cat, Molasses, for a week while we were away. During that time she was always easy to get ahold of and would respond quickly to any questions. She also sent us multiple pictures after each visit. Kara took the time to get to know our cat. During her first visits, she would wait for our cat to approach her, allowing Molasses to become comfortable around her. By the end of the week Molasses was asking for pets, rambunctiously playing, and talking to Kara like she was a member of the family. I can’t recommend Kara enough. We plan to book with Kara again soon.”

About: Returning after a hiatus! I have a flexible schedule and am happy to bring my laptop to your home so I can spend extra time keeping your pet company. . As a cat owner (and former dog owner) myself, I know how much the little details matter. I pay close attention to each pet’s personality, habits, and changing needs, and follow their usual feeding, play, and rest routines as closely as possible. . Whether your pet loves attention or prefers a little space, I’ll take my cues from them and help them feel comfortable and secure while you’re away. I work from home fulltime and have a fairly flexible schedule. I’m happy to work at your home to spend extra time with your pet. I’m very aware of changes in pet personality and needs. I’ll pattern play and care as close to their normal routine as possible, encouraging them to feel safe and secure despite their human(s) being away.
“Lindsey did a fantastic job watching our 2 kitties! She took great care of them, brought in packages, and cleaned up a mess one of our cats made. We appreciated her daily visits over the holidays, while we traveled to visit family! We highly recommend Lindsey and will definitely use her services again!”

“Lacey was super responsive which was nice when booking, but she also genuinely cared about making sure my cat was getting enough love & attention while I was gone, which was awesome to know. Would defs have her cat-sit again!”

About: I have dog sat many different breeds and ages of dogs. I love to go on walks or play outside with younger pups, but am also happy to relax and cuddle on the couch with an older dog. I am a recently graduated college student who is looking for an enjoyable side gig while still working a part time job that doesn’t have set weekly hours. I love dogs and am always down for a walk or cuddle. I prefer a fenced in yard, but understand if that isn’t available. I enjoy playing with the dogs and laying around with them after a long walk.
About: I grew up on a farm and so I handled a wide variety of animals. I’m in nursing school and want a side hustle that I will enjoy doing. I can walk dogs Monday - Friday from 5:30 on. I have my own 2 Fur babies at home. One being a 2 year old boxer and the the other being a 3 year old mix. I know a lot about animals because I grew up with them. I have worked with a vet in Wisconsin a bit too so I know how to look for signs of sickness.

“Leah did a wonderful job taking care of Helen and Violet. When I returned home Helen and Vi were very mellow and relaxed because they had excellent care :) It meant so much to me to know that they were well cared for while I celebrated Christmas with my family in Oregon.”

“Jen was great with our cats! She gave my diabetic cat his insulin shots and wrote great report cards after every visit. I appreciated her attentiveness to my older cat; I had peace of mind that he was left in reliable, caring hands while I was out of town.”

Krista took such wonderful care of our kitties while we were away for the week! It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in good hands while we were on vacation. She was dependable, caring, and made sure they had everything they needed. We came home to happy, well-cared-for kitties, which is all we could ask for! We’re so grateful to Krista and would absolutely trust her to care for them again. Highly recommend! ❤️

Megan has been such a joy for our family! We have absolutely loved having her watch our dogs. They are obsessed with her, and she takes such great care of them. We are moving out of state and are so sad that we won’t get to work with her anymore. Thank you so much for everything, Megan!!

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:

- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
