About: I wanted a dog all my life, and I wish that I could say that I grew up with a dog, but my dad was allergic. Whenever I had the opportunity to care for neighbors' pets, I did and knew that I would adopt a dog as soon as I was a real adult (and financially stable). As soon as I moved from California and landed a permanent job, I adopted an Akita puppy. She (Clipsy) was my only family in the Midwest for 14 years, and I couldn't have loved her more. Our second dog, Zuki, is a rescue from Texas. Because she's a rescue, she has some anxiety whenever we leave, so I understand what it's like to want the best care for your pet (not in a kennel). Zuki loves friend dogs, so one reason we're dogsitting is because we want her to enjoy the company of another dog. Her bestie passed away from old age last year, and she would welcome company. Both my husband and I are animal lovers, of course. Zuki is mixed breed (cattle dog, lab, pyrenees, etc.), medium-sized dog who regularly plays at dog parks and is well socialized. I think that she would get along with any other non-aggressive adult dog as long as they go on a short walk together first. She might be uncertain about puppies. It's always best to meet in neutral territory, and we would prefer a quick preliminary meeting with our dogs before the actual dogsitting date. We also have 9 chickens, and Zuki is trained to guard them from hawks or other predators. We realize that most dogs will chase chickens, so your dog would be on a leash or the chickens will be cooped if your dog wants to explore the relatively large backyard. If your dog finds chicken poop tasty, they will be closely supervised because...you know. My husband works remotely, and I teach but am relatively free in the summer. Thus, we have time to make sure that you dog is comfortable in our house and gets attention & frequent potty breaks. The Winnequah Dream Park is one block away, and we normally go for 1-2 walks every day. We have three dog beds scattered throughout the house, so you don't have to lug along your dog bed if it's inconvenient. We also have spare dog bowls, leashes, a ton of dog toys to share, and a tie-out rope. I'm happy to text photos/videos of your dog daily if you'd like. If you're not a fan of texts, I'll give you more space. Rest assured, we will do whatever we can to make your dog comfortable. What we'd require: -Please make sure that your dog is fully vaccinated & has flea & tick protection. Chickens eat ticks, but I'll still do regular tick checks on your dog if it's tick season. -Contact number for emergencies, and name and contact information of your vet. -Your dog's normal food and possibly meds. (Our dog is not food possessive, but we'd feed them separately.) -Any special information regarding diet or personality that would make your dog feel content while you are away. About: I try to provide training for your dog using simple commands and treats. I have a corgy. He likes eating poop, so I am firm with him but lovely. I believe I take my time to rub his belly or play with my dog before feeding him or going for a walk. I always keep treats and bags. I currently have a job from home, with a flexible schedule. I always go outside for walk 10 to 20 minutes o play with tennis ball. I used to go outside 2 or 3 times a day. In the morning the firts walk is longer. I have many different toys and a medium-sized blanket if he needs to rest. They can also go on my couch. If he needs more privacy, I have a big cage with blankets and pillows. I live in an apartment with 2 beds to a bath.

About: I've had dogs ever since I was a little kid and would do anything for them. I've also worked with dogs for the past 2 years. I have a Rat Terrier of my own and will make sure to treat your dog like they're my own. I’m used to all kinds of dogs whether it be age, energy level, or condition as I’ve had a mix of all at my job and growing up! I'm a student with lots of breaks between my classes meaning I’m usually only gone for less than two hours and I have lots of free time on the weekends. Max I’ll be gone is four hours, but that rarely happens. My dog is very friendly and energetic, but also knows when a dog doesn’t want to play. She’s very silly and loves to sleep! I live near the lake and can take your dog out often as there’s a nice trail along the lake and campus is pedestrian friendly. I live in an apartment, so I’m looking to host dogs who are comfortable in a quieter environment. Since I share walls with neighbors, I’m best suited for dogs who aren’t big barkers. That being said, I love dogs with a personality! A little energy and playfulness is totally welcome, I just ask that barking is kept to a minimum. Dogs are allowed to free roam around the apartment whether I’m with them or gone. If your puppy has energy to burn but knows when to settle down, we’ll get along great! In your own home I will take on any type of dog with any energy level! I will make sure to care for your dog while you are away just as you care for them while you’re in your house. A dogs safety and their comfort are a top priority for me! I also have a fenced in patio with dog grass if your pup needs a quick potty break!

About: I love dogs and puppies and when I bought my home I was looking for a huge yard that was fenced in for dogs to play in. It also came with a dog door and ramp! Very dog friendly! My foster dogs and sitting made me become more aware of dog and puppy needs from playing, walking and cuddling! I also love to be outside so if your pup likes to explore I would love to take them on a hike or downtown! I currently have a flexible schedule and can work from home if preferred. Or I can play with them feed them, crate them and be home early to play more- Your pup would be my priority! I have a fenced in yard and puppy door so if your dog is independent and wants more time outside they can safely do so. If not I can play in the yard or walk them in the neighborhood, park or downtown.
About: I worked 8 years, almost 9, and The Dog Hut LLC. I've helped care for dogs as young as 2 months and dogs well into their senior years. I'm happy to give medication to any dogs that need it and make sure they get extra cuddles and someone to "talk to". I am also very open to more than just dogs. I worked for 4 years at the Dane County Humane Society caring for Guinee Pigs, rats, and a non venomous snake. I am currently between jobs so any day works well for me. I'm happy to come late morning and well into the night to feed, water, and play with your pets who need that. Or just lend a happy presence, for the cats and cat-like pets who just need a simple hello. At my home I do not have a fully fenced in yard but am within walking distance of a few paths so even if your dog will be on leash they will get a wonderful walk in. Bringing their own toys and comfort items will be needed as I only have a cat currently. Also your dog must be cat friendly or will need to have a kennel brought with them should they be staying. I am okay staying over at my client's place should the need arise, can give medication and will give them all the playtime and snuggle breaks they need. I will be wary of weather changes so I can give them quick breaks outside and make sure they still can get energy out should it be an inside kind of day.

She watched our girl, Zuki, for six days, and she texted us updates and a few photos until we felt reassured that Zuki was adjusting to a new environment well. Our dog is a rescue, and she has some strange behaviors such as being reluctant to drink water in the house (maybe because an alpha dog “claimed” the water dish at the rescue). Erin made sure that Zuki ate enough, drank, and she took her plenty of walks. What’s more, she cuddled Zuki to make her feel more at ease. Erin even ended up sleeping on the couch near Zuki to keep her company. I could tell that Erin was monitoring Zuki’s behavior bc she knew that Zuki has “fears,” and I was glad that Zuki had the opportunity to meet Erin with us present (so that our dog would be more comfortable and know that Erin was a friend). Thank you, Erin, for taking care of our fur baby!”
“Michele and Waldo were amazing hosts for Cleo! Michele sent tons of pictures and videos, and Cleo was having the time of her life in all of them. She and Waldo played nonstop, and she was happy and exhausted when we picked her up. We will absolutely use Michele again.”
