Avary was fantastic! You can tell that she is comfortable and experienced. She took her time getting Otis and Maenard comfortable when putting on their harnesses and meeting them for the first time. She taught us some new tricks for an easier time getting dressed, too! She was thorough and had great energy. Excited for more walks in the future! Thank you again, Avary!

About: Hello! My name is Olivia, but I commonly go by Olive. I have had dogs all but nine years of my life. I have years of experience in puppy training, dog walking, and k-9 spoiling! I am passionate about making dogs feel safe, loved, and well cared for. I also have a dog of my own named Arnold. He is a 25 pound Mini Golden Doodle and is extremely friendly and energetic. I am always willing to take him along if your puppy needs socialization in a safe, controlled environment, or if your solo dog is simply longing for a playmate. It is entirely up to you and your dog friend. Aside from dog sitting/walking, I am an actress and writer. My schedule is flexible and know just below my love for the arts is my love for dogs. So rest assured, your dog will be enthusiastically prioritized and loved. I cannot wait to befriend you and your doggie! i am a writer/actor & this is one of a few trade jobs i do! this one takes priority in my schedule since i love it the most :) i’ve learned in working with dogs for so long, trust looks different for every dog. as the caretaker, it’s my responsibility to understand animal body language & behavior so that i know what are the boundaries of each animal i care for. from there, honoring those boundaries while also offering love & attention & practical care is typically my approach!

About: Hello! My name is Hannah and I am so excited to look after your fur baby. I have tons of experience and comfort levels with all sorts of animals. My own kitties need special medications, injections, pills and more so I'm very familiar with giving additional care. I'm very patient, and have sat and bathed dogs and cats of all shapes sizes and breeds. I've been a midwife to a husky, cared for senior cats with IVs, and plenty in between. I'd love to care for your pet too! I freelance most days of the week so I have plenty of free time to drop by and visit. I also love walking, myself, so doing it with a furry friend is an added bonus :) I live in an apartment that is pet friendly. I have one cat who gets along great with others. I have access to a yard for potty breaks and live close to Prospect Park for walks. I have house/baby/pet sat many times and I will be very responsible in regards to your home. No snooping and I try and leave spaces nicer than when I found them :)

About: Even though I’ve never had a dog of my own, it was always in my heart since I was a child to always love them. I used to help my uncle take care of dogs because he used to dog sit in our home. I would hope by feeding them and walking them. I’m free most of the time and I’d like to do something with my free time so since I love dogs, why not get paid to hang out with a bunch of fur babies! Although I’m not offering home boarding at the moment, I live in a small three bedroom apartment so I just believe it wouldn’t be best for a dog at this time.

About: Just minutes away from Prospect Park, my home is a safe and fun refuge for your dog’s daycare and boarding needs. I have two playful rescue dogs who love making new dog friends, and I’ll take care of your baby as part of my family pack. Your dog can play in the doggy oasis living room filled with fun toys, yummy things to chew on, and comfy places to rest. Every afternoon, we take a nice long walk in Prospect Park where we get to sniff so many good smells and have so many wags. Dog days over here really are the best. A bit about me- I'm a long time pet parent with a part-time remote/WFH job and a full-time love of dogs. I have experience caring for both dogs and cats at all stages of life, from puppies who need patience to super seniors who need meds and around the clock care. Our pets are part of our families, and I’ll treat your furry family members just as I do my own- with the utmost care and affection. You can count on me for quality play time, good walks, feeding, and clear communication including pictures and pet updates. Book with me and know your fur baby is in good hands. Dog-friendly dogs only for daycare and boarding. I work part time flexible hours from home, so I have a lot of time to take care of your fur baby along with my own. I have two extremely friendly dog’s dogs who welcome new friends into their pack with open hearts and paws! We do walks in the neighborhood every two-three hours (my youngest is still on a puppy schedule), and a long walk every afternoon in Prospect Park. Our park walk is truly the highlight of my day, and depending on schedules and dog energy, sometimes we spend 3+ hours out there sniffing, wagging, and walking all over the park. While I can accommodate individualized needs and scheduling requests, to the extent possible, your dog will be integrated into our little pack. This will hopefully ease any separation anxiety. And by the end of the day(s) in the pack, your dog will have made new friends for life! My apartment is set up for my two wild and fun dogs with room to add to the pack. My living room is the dog’s room- it has been converted to be a haven for dogs with toys, dog beds, and space to play. All hazards have been removed and/or minimized in the dog play area (ie no choking hazards, cords out of chewing reach, etc). The dogs have an option of sleeping in the dog room or in bed with me. I have a king size bed so there’s space for everyone!

Truly a godsend from up above! Alexandra walked my dog 2 times a day for 10 days while I suffered severe back issues. She was able to come on board last minute and has been punctual, responsible and trustworthy the entire time. My dog, Sophia, absolutely adores her. Sophia makes me get her ready one hour earlier and wait at the door for Alexandra. I was so elated to see Sophia get so much exercise, so then eating better and sleeping better that I asked Alexandra to stay on longer. Alexandra has that energy that pumps my pup up and she has such a good time. I wouldn't hesitate to her anytime I can.

About: Hey y’all, my name is Marvel and I’d love to meet you fur baby! I'm using this opportunity as a means to gain more experience for the day that I get my own dog or cat in the future. I've always wanted to live with pets and one of the pets I would love to care for are dogs. I have some experience with dogs because all of my friends are dog owners and I love the energy they give. I can care for special needs dogs, emotional support dogs and any other dog of any size. I would love to meet your pet and care for it as if it were my own. Looking forward to meeting you and your pet! I love being active and walking dogs is actually a great excuse for me to be outside more lol. I do have a job so I can’t walk them as much as I’d like but I do walk them when I can. I always enjoy walking and playing with animals. It would not only be beneficial for your pet but for me as well! We’d do a ton of fun activities like playing fetch, some light jogging, some training if needed and rewarding them with treats for good behavior! I’m cautious and observant of animals I’m getting to know. Getting a feel for their personality, behaviors and routines. When it comes to new animals I like to take my time and create an environment that promotes safety and trust. I want your pet to trust me as much as I’ll learn to trust it. Creating a strong bond and good relationship during our time together :)

Elliot walked our dog Charlie only one time but we are very happy so far. We love that he lives next to us, responds so fast, is so flexible and most importantly our spoiled 70lb dog Charlie doesn't love that many ppl he doesn't know and he walked out of our house for the first walk wagging tail, happy to go w zero hesitation! We work from home so he was only walked by a dog walker 3 times in his entire life, so this is pretty new to him. Looking forward our new Friday nights now!

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Brooklyn. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Brooklyn.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Brooklyn. On Rover:

  • 88% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
