“Finding a trustworthy dog walker can be stressful, but Erica put my mind at ease. She was highly professional, communicative and displays a true love for animals. I appreciated the text updates and photos from their outings. I now know I can travel when necessary without worries. Thank you Erica. Looking forward to working with you in the future.”

“Avary was fantastic! You can tell that she is comfortable and experienced. She took her time getting Otis and Maenard comfortable when putting on their harnesses and meeting them for the first time. She taught us some new tricks for an easier time getting dressed, too! She was thorough and had great energy. Excited for more walks in the future! Thank you again, Avary!”

“Thank you for walking my Zola ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ She is such a sweet and responsible, trustworthy, and you can tell she genuinely loves animals. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet walker! 🐾❤️”

“Laura is the best! My senior dog Tiny took to her immediately. I’ve used Laura twice so far and she’s been punctual, communicative and just overall wonderful. Tiny can be reactive and some quirks, but Laura has been mindful of them and I’m at ease knowing Tiny is in her care! Will definitely continue to book with Laura :)”
“Truly a godsend from up above! Alexandra walked my dog 2 times a day for 10 days while I suffered severe back issues. She was able to come on board last minute and has been punctual, responsible and trustworthy the entire time. My dog, Sophia, absolutely adores her. Sophia makes me get her ready one hour earlier and wait at the door for Alexandra. I was so elated to see Sophia get so much exercise, so then eating better and sleeping better that I asked Alexandra to stay on longer. Alexandra has that energy that pumps my pup up and she has such a good time. I wouldn't hesitate to her anytime I can.”

“Afiya was great! Super responsive, had great questions and you can tell she cares so much about your pet. My dog Milo who is usually shy around new walkers liked her off the bat, always a great sign. Thank you Afiya!”

“Ella is amazing! She is consistent, communicative, and our dog loves her! She sends photos and always updates us about walks with our pup. I’m happy to have found Ella!”

About: Hey y’all, my name is Marvel and I’d love to meet you fur baby! I'm using this opportunity as a means to gain more experience for the day that I get my own dog or cat in the future. I've always wanted to live with pets and one of the pets I would love to care for are dogs. I have some experience with dogs because all of my friends are dog owners and I love the energy they give. I can care for special needs dogs, emotional support dogs and any other dog of any size. I would love to meet your pet and care for it as if it were my own. Looking forward to meeting you and your pet! I love being active and walking dogs is actually a great excuse for me to be outside more lol. I do have a job so I can’t walk them as much as I’d like but I do walk them when I can. I always enjoy walking and playing with animals. It would not only be beneficial for your pet but for me as well! We’d do a ton of fun activities like playing fetch, some light jogging, some training if needed and rewarding them with treats for good behavior! I’m cautious and observant of animals I’m getting to know. Getting a feel for their personality, behaviors and routines. When it comes to new animals I like to take my time and create an environment that promotes safety and trust. I want your pet to trust me as much as I’ll learn to trust it. Creating a strong bond and good relationship during our time together :)
About: Hi, I’m Onyx! 🐾 I’m a Chicago native, New Yorker, journalist, and lifelong animal lover. Caring for animals has always been one of the most grounding parts of my life, and being a dog mom to my 60-lb Staffy mix, Reese, has given me years of hands-on experience understanding the personalities, routines, and quirks that make every pet different. I’m the kind of sitter who genuinely enjoys getting to know an animal—not just making sure they’re fed and walked, but making sure they feel safe, comfortable, stimulated, and loved while you’re away. I’m attentive to routines and instructions, and I’m happy to send regular updates, photos, and videos so you can have peace of mind while you’re apart. I’m especially comfortable with energetic dogs who love to play, explore, and get plenty of exercise. I’m an active person myself, so long walks, runs, playtime, and keeping a pup entertained are right up my alley. I also have a serious collection of dog toys at home, so there’s no shortage of ways to keep a four-legged guest busy! Whether your pet needs an adventure buddy, a midday break, some extra cuddles, or simply a calm and reliable person to keep them company, I’d love to help. I treat every pet in my care like they’re my own—and I know how much trust that takes. Can’t wait to meet you and your fur baby! 🐶💛 I’m currently unemployed so outside of caring for my own dog, I have more time than ever to care for more pups while their parents are traveling. Whether I’m caring for a pet in my home or theirs, my priority is making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while sticking as closely as possible to their normal routine. In a client’s home, I’m respectful of their space and follow their instructions closely—from feeding and walks to medications, supplements, playtime, and bedtime routines. I’m also happy to provide regular photo and video updates so you know how your pet is doing while you’re away. In my home, I make sure pets have a comfortable, pet-friendly space where they can relax and get plenty of attention and enrichment. I have lots of toys and love taking dogs outside for walks or trips to the park when appropriate. I’m also attentive to each pet’s individual personality and boundaries—whether they’re energetic and playful or prefer a quieter environment with lots of cuddles. After years of caring for my own dog, Reese, I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet. I treat every animal in my care with that same level of patience, attention, and responsibility.
“Christian was reliable, attentive, and clearly great with Daisy. She's been very happy every time I've come back after her walk. I felt completely at ease knowing she was in such good hands.”

“Emily took care of my dog regularly for 6 months and was nothing but incredible! She was super responsive, helped me at the last minute a number of times, and always wrote the sweetest and most informative notes. Would absolutely recommend her!”

“Elliot walked our dog Charlie only one time but we are very happy so far. We love that he lives next to us, responds so fast, is so flexible and most importantly our spoiled 70lb dog Charlie doesn't love that many ppl he doesn't know and he walked out of our house for the first walk wagging tail, happy to go w zero hesitation! We work from home so he was only walked by a dog walker 3 times in his entire life, so this is pretty new to him. Looking forward our new Friday nights now!”

“Alice has done an amazing job with my pup Magnolia, taking into account Maggie’s struggles especially with being a reactive dog AND a large breed. Alice has done great with communication, and with a variety of pictures of Maggie during their walks. Alice is super friendly, responds quickly and I recommend her for anyone looking for a companion for their pets! ?”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
