She is very nice and sent photo updates while out with Zeke. She’s definitely detail-oriented—she even wiped Zeke’s butt twice after he had some soft stool outside so he came back in clean. Thankful for the thoughtful care.

About: I’ve cared for dogs through every stage of life—from energetic puppies who needed patience, consistency, and structure, to senior dogs who required extra attention, gentleness, and specialized care. Most recently, I helped care for my family’s dog throughout her senior years until the end of her life, which taught me the importance of compassion, patience, and paying attention to the small changes in a dog’s behavior and needs. I’m a very patient, responsible, and caring person, and I genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs. I also believe walks should be enjoyable for them, not just exercise, so I let dogs safely stop and sniff as much as they want. It’s great mental enrichment and lets them experience the world at their own pace. My goal is simple: to make every dog feel safe, comfortable, loved, and excited to spend time with me. I’m currently between jobs, so I have a very flexible schedule and can dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets I care for. Rather than trying to fit walks or visits around a busy workday, I can focus on each dog’s routine, whether that’s longer walks, playtime, feeding schedules, medication, or simply providing companionship. I also recently lost my family’s dog, so I truly miss having a dog in my life. Pet sitting is a meaningful way for me to stay active, spend time outdoors, and give dogs the love and attention they deserve while helping provide peace of mind for their owners. I understand that every dog has different routines, personalities, and comfort levels, so I always take the time to follow the owner’s instructions carefully. Whether I’m caring for a pet in my home or a client’s home, I prioritize safety, consistency, and making the dog feel comfortable. During walks, I keep dogs securely leashed, avoid unsafe situations or interactions if needed, and pay close attention to their behavior and energy level. At home, I make sure they have fresh water, follow feeding and medication schedules exactly, provide plenty of attention and enrichment, and keep the environment clean and safe. I also believe communication is important, so I’ll keep owners updated with photos and messages so they know their pet is happy, safe, and well cared for while they’re away.

About: I grew up in my grandmother’s home for part of my childhood with her two Shitzu’s. I was exposed to dogs at a young and fell in love ever since. When I was in high school, we got our family dog, a Papillion named Callie - who I sadly don’t see as often anymore. Last year, I brought home my first dog - Cherry who is also a 1 year old Papillon. I also have experience with larger size dogs (up to 45 pounds) because I have fostered here and there whenever I got the chance. Although my weekdays are busy, I am available to watch your fur baby most weekends for sitting or for boarding unless indicated otherwise on my calendar. I live in a studio apartment, but have access to a fenced dog park on the second floor of my apartment building for quick potty breaks. I also can take the dogs on longer or more frequent walks (able to cater toward each dog).

About: I’ve cared for dogs for the past five years while living with a friend who owned one. I’ve also handled long-term cat sitting whenever my friend traveled abroad. I’m patient, attentive, and treat every pet like my own. I work full-time Monday through Friday, but I’m free every evening after work to walk, feed, and play with your pets. On weekends, I have plenty of free time and can offer full-day care or boarding whenever you need. I live alone in my own apartment on a floor with elevator access, so getting your pet in and out is easy and hassle-free. There’s no balcony, so there’s no risk of pets wandering off or getting into danger from open ledges. My neighborhood has plenty of parks nearby, perfect for daily walks and playtime.

About: I’ve taken care of and walked all types of dogs since I was 15! Friends have entrusted me with their furry family when they’re been away and I’ve looked after them as if they were my own. I’m a huge dog lover but have never had one of my own due to family and roommates being allergic — but rest assured, I have experience with many dogs and I think this makes me an even more enthusiastic pet sitter :) If you choose to book with me, I would love to set up time to meet your pup and get acquainted with you and them beforehand! I have very flexible hours as I am self-employed - I can do whatever hours you and your furry family need, whether it be during the weekdays or weekends. Your home and pets will be cared for with the utmost respect and dedication to safety! I would firstly make sure to follow all rules left by you. I would double check any locks and safety alarms before leaving. I would ensure that all windows and doors are secure before letting any pets out of carriers and make sure to block doors while leaving. I would also make sure to account for all pets visually. I would leave your home exactly as you left it and not have over any guests. I would also be more than happy to send over regular updates through photos & texts while you’re away!

Christie truly has a love for animals and it is apparent when Ella also feels the same excitement every time she sees Christie. Would book Christie again and recommend her to anyone in the area.

About: Hello! I work from home and love to spend time with animals. I have two medium dogs (Ramona and Molly). They are both playful and full of energy, so I'm used to looking after big pup personalities! Molly is our anxiety queen, and caring for her has taught me so much about the importance of routine and meeting each pet where they're specifically coming from. In addition to Rover, I have had dogs all my life, watched dogs and houses for professors while I was in college, and even spent three weeks watching 13 rescue dogs in France for a Workaway experience. Because I work from home, my schedule is extremely flexible and I am always willing to make whatever you need work. Your pet's safety, comfort, and enrichment are my first priorities. I am excited to meet and become friends with your furry family member!

About: I am free during the week and weekends for dog walking! Leaving your pet behind can be tough, but I am here to make sure their time away from you is packed with love and comfort. I treat every dog in my care exactly like my own. I have successfully raised and trained two dogs of my own, and I am the go-to pet sitter for my friends whenever they travel. If your pup requires oral medications, injections, or has a specific medical routine, you can rest easy knowing they are in highly capable, trained hands. You won’t have to wonder how your baby is doing! I send regular texts and photo updates so you can see all the fun (and naps) they are having. Your dog's health and security are my top priorities. I maintain a safe, hazard-free environment and stay highly attentive during walks. I promise your baby will be thoroughly spoiled, loved, and kept safe until the moment you come back. Feel free to reach out with any questions or to schedule a meet-and-greet. 🐶❤️ I am currently going to school. I am available for walks on days off! My pet crossed the rainbow bridge and I would love to help pet parents out. I have a safe apartment with a doorman. I have a common area and nice sunlit spots for your pet to nap in. I can accommodate any diet regiment and am comfortable with giving medications.

About: Growing up, I took care of two (awesome) dogs for as long as I can remember. Having these mini companions was definitely a part of my childhood that I would never change, and I believe it aided in shaping the person I am today. Today, I have two dogs that my partner and I have raised from puppies! I'm experienced with caring for pets of all ages! I am hard-working, dedicated, and committed to making sure you and your pet have the best possible experience! A bit about me, I am also pretty energetic and love to exercise, so taking your dog for a walk or even a run is not a problem at all. I am currently located in the LIC area! I will always find time to make sure your pet is getting properly cared for while you are away. I currently am between jobs and needing some extra dog love! I can be flexible with what works for everyone involved, as consistency is best for dog and owner. I have two boy dogs at home, so not taking any clients here unless we do a meet and greet first ! They're both very friendly. Otherwise, I'm committed to keeping routine as normal as possible for your pet.

About: I grew up with a schnauzer, so dogs have always felt like home to me. I take friends' dogs out for walks for fun and love every minute of it. You can count on me to give your dog an energetic, attentive walk and bring them home happy and tired. I currently work from home, so I'm able to build afternoon walks into my day as a refreshing break for both me and your pup. No rushing and just a relaxed, attentive walk when your dog needs it most. As a walker, my focus is on giving your dog a safe, fun, and attentive outing. I always keep dogs leashed, stay fully present during walks, and follow any instructions you have about your dog's habits or preferences. At 6'4" and 200 lbs, I can comfortably handle larger and more energetic dogs too.

Samantha literally could not have been any better! She watched my pup for about a week and a half, and took such incredible care of him. He was coming down from a stomach bug when I dropped him, and she was so diligent with his medicine and providing me updates. She also got hit with a LOT of weather (like wildfire smoke, tornado watches, it was a time) and I never had to worry about him because she always knew just what to do and made sure he was safe indoors when necessary and got as many walks and breaks as were possible/safe. So many photos of the two of them cuddling. She clearly fell in love with him over the week, and I don’t think she wanted to give him back 🤣 will be using her for literally every trip possible!

  • 88% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
