“Adam is amazing! He is punctual and takes great walks with Honey. I look forward to the selfies and pictures during the walk! He always is there when I need a walker in a pinch!”

“She is great with dogs! My wife was a witness of Tobi behaving great while walking with Brie as opposed to how he pulls and barks all the time when he walks with us. She was really accomodating when I contacted on the last minute because our usual walker got sick. 100% recomendable and depenable!”

About: I’ve had a dog all my life (two labs), have take care of neighbors pets and volunteered at an animal shelter in highschool. I’m a true dog lover I am available on the weekends. I woke from home Monday and Friday which are lighter days for me with availability to dog walk or sit. I live in an apartment so I would take your dog on a walk or could watch them at your apartment as mine is too small!
“I was in a bind because my Dogwalker called in sick at that last minute and Nikki & Chris stepped in and took Maggie for her walks!! They were so attentive and kind, I’d definitely consider using them again! Highly recommend!!”

“Sophia was amazing with Loxi while I was away. She would come greet her every night and play with her as she got her ready for her walk. My doggie who is normally pretty sad when I am away was playful and happy the whole time in large part due to Sophia!!! :) From the meet and greet to the end of my vacation, Sophia put in so much care, attention and love into caring for my doggy I cannot express how much I appreciate it and and so grateful so her to have been cared for so well while I was away. I would definitely have Sophia walk my doggy again anytime!!”

About: I grew up with dogs and have always been a big animal lover! I moved to NYC and do not have any pets but back home I have a Great Pyrenees and a Husky. I have experience with dogs of a variety of different ages and sizes. Happy to take your pets on walks, to the park, as well as pet sitting! My schedule includes working in the office Monday through Friday, making my home a great fit for pups who are accustomed to being alone during the workday. I live in a studio apartment across the street from a dog friendly park! I can meet your dog’s exercise needs whether it’s going on walks or to the dog park.
About: I offer a boutique, limited-client approach to pet care focused on attention, consistency, and trust. I intentionally keep my client list small so each pet receives individualized care and a calm, safe experience. I have experience caring for dogs, cats, and small animals, and I pay close attention to each animal’s comfort, behavior, and routine. I’m comfortable supporting puppies who need structure and consistency, as well as senior pets who may need a slower pace, patience, medication support, or extra attentiveness. What sets me apart is a combination of hands-on animal care, strong communication, and a thoughtful, observant approach. I hold a Master’s degree in psychology, which informs how I read behavior, respond calmly, and build trust with both animals and people. I’m also a professional photographer, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to offer attentive, personalized care. I love photographing pets and people, and I enjoy sharing thoughtful photo updates during walks or stays so owners feel connected and reassured. I provide dog walking, pet sitting, and overnights with safety, reliability, and clear communication as priorities. My goal is to provide dependable, personalized care so pets feel comfortable and owners feel at ease. Please note: I have a young child in the home, so it’s important that owners disclose any history of aggression toward people or other dogs, bites within the past 2 years, or behavior concerns such as destructive chewing or indoor spraying/marking. This is rarely an issue, but if a pet damages furniture due to chewing, spraying, or similar behavior, the owner will be responsible for replacement costs. Pets in my care are allowed on furniture, and I’m unable to offer boarding or daycare in my home for dogs that spray/mark indoors. Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine alongside my work as a professional photographer, which gives me a flexible schedule for walks, drop ins, and overnight care. I intentionally keep a limited client list so I can provide dependable, personalized attention and maintain consistency for the pets in my care. I am available for weekday, evening, and weekend care, including holiday bookings. I prioritize safety, consistency, and a calm environment while respecting each pet’s routine and comfort level. In a client’s home, I follow feeding, walking, medication, and household instructions carefully, keep doors and leashes secure, and pay close attention to behavior and wellbeing. I maintain a clean, low stress environment, provide thoughtful supervision, and communicate clearly with photo updates and check ins so owners feel informed and reassured.
“Vanessa is very communicative and always on time & responsive. She’s been a star working with our very skittish and nervous bernese and has successfully made friends with our dog - which is hard to do. We are very happy to have found her!”

“Minako was super responsive when communicating and took a lot of care when walking my dog, along with a good description and photos. Would definitely book with her again. Thank you Minako!”

“Anna gave me utmost confidence that my pet was in safe, loving hands. Great communicator and will definitely look for her availability in the future!”

About: Hi there <3 I am a Parsons grad who filled up a lot of my free time during my college years in the city walking & taking care of NYC’s cutest pups. 4 years post grad, I work a full time corporate fashion job that recently moved remote, and I’m looking to fill my love for pets as I adopted & became a cat mommy to my cutie kitty Moo Moo four years ago & would love a pup, but can’t right now! I am a huge pet lover so I will definitely take care of your fur-legged pets like they're my own! I work 9:30-5 & recently moved completely remote so can work from your home to keep your pets company but am also free before or after those hours to take care of your pets! Please feel free to message me with any questions about my availability. As mentioned in my past reviews, I always provide multiple photos throughout the visit or walk to make sure that owners are well aware of what is going on while also receiving pics of their pets so they don't miss them too much!

I can’t recommend Alex enough! Zeppelin absolutely loves her, and I always feel at ease knowing he’s in such good hands. She genuinely cares about him and always makes sure he’s well taken care of. She’s reliable, communicative, and pays attention to his individual needs, which means so much since he can be a little sensitive. It’s clear she truly loves dogs, and I’m so grateful to have found someone I trust with Zeppelin.

Tara is awesome!! I needed a couple of last minute walks and Tara was super responsive. On top of sending lots of updates/pictures throughout the walks, she also went above and beyond and stayed out with kiwi longer, which I really appreciated. Will definitely rebook in the future <3

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
