“It was great meeting Liwei! He took wonderful care of Rio and, just as importantly, was patient in doing a proper meet-and-greet with the whole family to understand the environment Rio lives in. That thoughtfulness really put us at ease. Rio was in great hands, and we’d highly recommend Liwei to anyone looking for a caring, attentive sitter. Looking forward to booking again!”

“Ana from the beginning was quick and responsive and willing to meet. She was attentive to asking all the right questions that made me feel more at ease in making my decision. She cared for my dog Zorro while my husband & I traveled, and updated me with pictures and questions along the way! Even though my two cats were not part of her duties, she was nice enough to update me on them. I plan on booking with Ana come further travels! Thank you once again.”

About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life! Family and friends have relied on me to take care of all kinds of needs for their pets, such as walking, feeding, bathing, and playing with them. Recently, as part of my move away from home, I’ve provided pet sitting and home sitting care for cats and dogs, which has been a bonus because I love animals! I currently work 2-3 days out of the week and during the school year, I am a university student with classes only 3 days out of the week, meaning I have plenty of time to dedicate to your pets needs. I always make sure pets have plenty of water, play time, and are attended to according to their needs. My own pets have health problems, which I have no issues maintaining.
“Kobi is great! My dog has been transitioning to a new space and he has had a lot of anxiety. Kobi entered my apartment and sat down and waited for Henry to become comfortable! I really appreciated that and will continue to use her just for that small gesture. Thanks Kobi!”

“Katherine stepped in with very short notice and had a great walk with my dog. She communicated great and I would recommend her to anyone in need of a reliable walker.”

“Alison was incredibly patient with my new rescue dog, Olive, who tends to need a bit of time to warm up to people. She took some time to give Olive some treats and get to know her prior to taking her out for the walk which was so appreciated! I am excited to have her take Olive on more walks.”

“Dong is an absolutely amazing dog walker! He has been walking my pup for the past ten days, and he has been incredibly understanding and flexible, especially during the chaos of my home renovations. Dong has consistently gone above and beyond, ensuring my pup gets plenty of exercise and is always happy and well-cared for. I'm so grateful for his reliability and dedication. I highly recommend Dong to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog walker.”

“Sydney is amazing with my Benji. She’s communicative, attentive, and truly cares about my pup. I always know he’s in good hands with her. Highly recommend Sydney!”

“This is our second time using Christina and she shined like the bright star that she is once again. She is just so great and a true dog whisperer. She really cares for dogs as her own, and I see that with my beloved banjo. She is also so great with walks and boarding and such because we found out she has training and works to become a vet tech. Literally trust your dog with Christina. She’s the only person on Rover I’d ever trust.”

About: Hi! My name is Tori and I just graduated from Boston University! I grew up with dogs, hamsters, birds, frogs, fish, and cats. I absolutely love and missed taking care of them so much while I was away. I’d be so happy to take care of your pets too! I can take them on walks, feed them, check in on them, and keep them company whenever you need! My dog Nikki loves when I hold her and sing to her, so maybe yours will too! Not to brag, but I also give the best belly rubs! I am currently working a part-time job, so I can provide excellent care for your pets as soon as I am available! I work mostly in the early mornings. I am completely open to your care needs. I can take your pets on walks, feed them, keep them active and entertained, and most importantly, make sure they feel loved in your absence!
“Shaina is so kind and patient with the pups as they got used to her for the first day or two. One of my dogs can be moody and she handled him with grace and patience until he was comfortable. Highly recommend!”

About: What sets me apart as a sitter is my patience and my ability to adapt to each dog’s individual needs. I have hands-on experience caring for my own dogs as well as dogs belonging to friends and acquaintances while they were traveling. I am especially comfortable caring for senior dogs and dogs with cardiac conditions. I understand the importance of routine, close observation, and giving medications carefully and on time. I always follow the owner’s instructions in detail to ensure each dog’s health and well-being. I also have experience working with puppies. I know how to keep them engaged with age-appropriate activities, both indoors and outdoors, while maintaining structure and safety. In addition, I have some experience with positive reinforcement training, focusing on patience, consistency, and encouragement rather than punishment. My goal is to provide calm, attentive, and loving care so every dog feels safe, understood, and well cared for. Pet care fits very naturally into my daily and weekly routine. I work remotely and manage my own schedule, which allows me to be flexible and fully available to meet each pet’s needs. I have plenty of time to provide attention, regular walks, playtime, and any additional care a dog may require throughout the day. I’m able to adapt my routine to match the pet’s usual schedule, whether that involves frequent breaks, quiet companionship, or more active moments. Most importantly, I truly enjoy the company of animals and value the time spent with them, making pet care not just a responsibility, but something I genuinely love doing. Safety and trust are my top priorities when caring for pets in my home. I always take the time to understand each pet’s routine, personality, and specific needs before welcoming them into my space. Pets in my care stay in a calm, clean, and secure environment where they can feel comfortable and relaxed. I closely supervise them, maintain consistent feeding and walking schedules, and make sure they always have access to fresh water and a safe space to rest. I follow all owner instructions carefully, including feeding routines, medications, and any special care requirements. I pay close attention to details and adapt my care to each pet’s needs, whether they require extra patience, a quieter environment, or more frequent check-ins. I prioritize gentle handling, patience, and positive reinforcement at all times, and I keep owners updated with messages and photos so they can feel confident knowing their pet is in responsible and caring hands.
“Kate & Alex were very easy to work with and no issues to report! They were patient with my nervous pupper and I really appreciated the frequent updates.”

About: Hi! My name is Anna. As long as I can remember, I’ve always been surrounded by animals. From a young age, I would bring home kittens and help care for animals I found outside. I also helped my brother take care of a German Shepherd, including walking and daily care. I’ve worked at a stable with horses, which taught me responsibility and attentiveness. I’ve had different pets, including a chameleon, which taught me to pay close attention to details and animal behavior. I am very responsible and always pay attention to a pet’s health and mood. I follow instructions carefully and try to understand each animal to find the right approach. I treat every pet with care, patience, and respect. I will make sure your pet feels safe, calm, and well cared for while you’re away. I have a flexible schedule and can adjust to your pet’s needs. I’m available for drop-in visits and dog walking on weekdays and weekends. I can also help on short notice if needed. I always follow the owner’s instructions and make sure pets feel safe and comfortable in their own home. I pay attention to their behavior and mood and try to understand each animal. I am calm, patient, and careful. I keep everything clean and make sure your pet is well taken care of. I also send updates and photos, so you can feel relaxed while you’re away.

About: I’ve always had family pets, and Kaiser has been with me now for 10 years. I love meeting new animals, and I’ve never been intimidated by size or behavior, they are all friends to me! I like sitting with pets and giving them good cuddles and scratches when they warm up to me. Besides all that, I am highly reliable and available to communicate at all times. Right now I am working fully from home, and I make my own hours so I can organize my day around your pet’s needs. I can guarantee walks for dogs at least twice a day, certainly more as needed. My rented space does not have yard access, so boarding would be fully indoors between walks. I also have two cats and a dog, and while they all get along famously, if you’re uncertain how well your pet would share the space with mine, we can try a test meeting, or else I’m happy to do drop-in visits at your home.

Blanca and her daughter Emily have been wonderful with Sunny. They always send lots of photos and updates, make sure she gets a full potty break, and it’s obvious they genuinely care about her. Knowing she’s happy and comfortable while I’m at work gives me so much peace of mind. I highly recommend them!

We found Bridget at a time where I was going from working remote to working most of the work week in person. Her energy, expertise and kindness was immediate and helped put me at ease. She is great with our dog and provides such great care. She’s very communicative. I will continue to use her services and would recommend to anyone looking for a great dog walker..

Dona was able to help me out with a few days notice as my original plans for my dog as I recover from surgery had ended up changing after I got back home. Really appreciate her coming through and being available to help me out especially when you’ve been ordered by the doctor to not walk your dog for at least two weeks.

It was great meeting Liwei! He took wonderful care of Rio and, just as importantly, was patient in doing a proper meet-and-greet with the whole family to understand the environment Rio lives in. Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
