“Jolea is the absolute sweetest and took great care of my pups! She's very communicative and sent photos every day to ease my conscience. She followed all instructions and went above and beyond by taking the pups to the dog park almost every day! 100/10 recommend!”

About: Hi, My name is Ana. I love animals. I have taken care of pets of friends, family and have my own cat name Miffy. I am happy to assist you with your pet needs such as walking, feeding, play time, litter cleaning and giving your pet companionship while you are away. My goal is to make sure your pet feels safe and comfortable and that you feel at ease. I currently have a flexible schedule for pet care. On Tuesdays through Thursday, i'm available in the afternoons and the rest of the days i am free. If needed, I’m happy to accommodate pet owners’ schedules to find times that work best for their pet’s routine and comfort. My number one goal is safety and comfort. I have a cat on my own, I understand how important it is to make your pet feel comfortable in their own space. In your home, i will make sure to go base on their routines such as feeding time, playing time, walking time etc.
“Great experience! Dong was very communicative and kept us updated for each and every walk. He made sure to send lots of pictures (which we appreciate) and followed instructions for feeding/medicine/etc. Highly recommend!”

“My cat has quite a few special needs, and Kobi did a great job making sure he was well taken care of! She sent pictures everyday either playing or hanging out with my cat which was awesome. I highly recommend her for all your cat sitting needs!”

“Jocelyn was perfect to take care of our cat Stan for a week! She was adorable and nice with him! I recommend her 200% to take care of your pet 😊”

“Kaitlin was great! She was a fast and effective communicator. She had an issue using our apartment key and sought out apt staff to help her get in. She went above and beyond. Would trust her for future needs.”

“Sydney was absolutely great with my boy Zion. She is very good with pets who need specified patience, attention, and care. I was initially nervous doing this for the first time but Sydney was very communicative, responsive, and patient. I’m relieved to have a new, trustworthy friend for my boy.”

“Jessica was a truly fantastic sitter for our 2 cats! She is very warm and loving, communicative, and provided us with so many photos and videos so we could really see how they were doing with her. Really warmed our hearts. Also she went above and beyond with extra cleaning of the cat areas which made it really nice to come home to. Thank you Jessica!”

“Katherine accepted a very last-minute New Year’s booking to take care of my cat, and she was fantastic. She was communicative from the very start and sent great updates and pictures of my cat every day. I will absolutely book her again and would recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter.”

“Alex and Kate were amazing! We have a cat that is on the more shy side and he quickly warmed up to Alex. We will definitely be coming back to Alex and Kate. They provided many pictures and took great care of our boys! 10/10, no doubt”

“I can’t thank Katie enough for taking such wonderful care of my cats. She was reliable, attentive, and clearly has a true love for animals. I came home to a happy and well-cared-for kitties, and I wouldn’t hesitate to trust her again. Highly recommended!”

“Our boys seemed pretty comfortable with Woonsan. He made sure our boys were well fed on time and cleaned the litters properly. He also followed our instructions so we didn't have to worry about anything. Will definitely be availing his services again.”

“Andrew has been great with our puppy. We were apprehensive to leave him for the first time with anyone but our fears were lifted with how attentive Andrew is with providing updates and his real care for our dog. Definitely a good choice!”

About: I’ve always had family pets, and Kaiser has been with me now for 10 years. I love meeting new animals, and I’ve never been intimidated by size or behavior, they are all friends to me! I like sitting with pets and giving them good cuddles and scratches when they warm up to me. Besides all that, I am highly reliable and available to communicate at all times. Right now I am working fully from home, and I make my own hours so I can organize my day around your pet’s needs. I can guarantee walks for dogs at least twice a day, certainly more as needed. My rented space does not have yard access, so boarding would be fully indoors between walks. I also have two cats and a dog, and while they all get along famously, if you’re uncertain how well your pet would share the space with mine, we can try a test meeting, or else I’m happy to do drop-in visits at your home.
“I am a repeat client with Mercedes, and I wouldn't trust my baby with anyone else! It's no secret to anyone who knows me that I am an over-protective cat parent, so I get nervous whenever I have to leave her overnight. Mercedes is so communicative though, I always feel confident that my kitty is very well taken care of. She goes above and beyond playing and petting to make sure she doesn't get too lonely or bored while I am away. On top of all that, Mercedes takes great pictures, which maybe isn't important to kitty, but definitely makes me as an owner feel better when I'm missing her.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Jersey City
Deanna was very helpful by taking care of our 2 cats while we were out of town! She sent comments and pictures everyday to keep us updated on how they were doing, which was very sweet. We are so grateful to have someone there to give us peace of mind while gone. Thank you Deanna!!!

Antwan took great care of our cat and dog, since he has experience with both. Accurately documented their check-ins, gave Alfie extra walks and even took some time to shoe Coconut some tricks during playtime! Overall impressed with how happy they are after Antwans drop-ins!

Tez is amazing! My cats were feral, so they take some time for them to warm up to people and Tez has taken her time over the years to become best friends with them. We can barely pick up our cats and she was just recently able to pick up one of them so I think that speaks volumes to how good she is with cats. She has also been super nice in watering our plants a few times and bringing up our packages while we are away. I highly highly recommend Tez, your cats are missing out if you’re not using her as a sitter! One of our cats was even on Lexapro for some time and Tez was really good with giving him pills.

Alyssa has looked after Albus a few times now. Albus looks happy and comfortable in the many photos she sends during visits. Alyssa is reliable and respectful of my home and follows instructions for feeding and playtime very well. Highly recommend Alyssa for your cat sitting needs!

Reggie was greatly taken care of during this drop-in visit booking! As he's going through a couple ailments right now, we were worried to leave him in anothers care. However, not only did they give him lots of love and playtime, they also were able to give him eye medication, and inhaler, and his steroid pill! They also sent over many photos, updates, and were incredibly communicative. I will be rebooking, thank you for taking such great care of Reggie <3

Jolea is an excellent car sitter: kind to animals and people, reliable, responsible, polite, and communicative. This is the second time I hired Jolea to cat-sit our old cat during our 10 + days away from home, and will continue to hire her down the road. I highly recommend Jolea J., A +++

Jessica was extremely accommodating and really loving towards our senior cat Tarini! Our cat loves attention and it was so good to hear that Jessica keenly played kibble "fetch" during the drop in visits on top of checking in on her litter & water. Highly recommend Jessica as a cat sitter! :)

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Jersey City. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
