About: I’m a therapy dog handler with my french bulldog of 3 years. I’ve owned 3 dogs to date and currently lead a 100% volunteer-led nonprofit that supports canine health in NJ! I work in healthcare and in my free time I volunteer a lot through several nonprofits. I have flexible availability during the week and limited times on the weekend mornings. I will respect your home and ensure your dog has the best experience on walks and playtime! I’ll also be very communicative with sharing photos, updates or any questions or comments you may have!

“Kaylee took great care of my kitty Normie! She sent me wonderful updates and pics - I was really able to enjoy my trip knowing that Normie was safe and well cared for. Thank you Kaylee!! Highly recommend...”

“Dong was so great! He was super responsive and communicative ahead of the booking and during, and took lots of photos during each drop-in. Dong's professionalism made it so much less stressful to leave my <1 yr old cat for a few days - thank you, Dong!”

“Our boys seemed pretty comfortable with Woonsan. He made sure our boys were well fed on time and cleaned the litters properly. He also followed our instructions so we didn't have to worry about anything. Will definitely be availing his services again.”

“My cat has quite a few special needs, and Kobi did a great job making sure he was well taken care of! She sent pictures everyday either playing or hanging out with my cat which was awesome. I highly recommend her for all your cat sitting needs!”

About: Hi! I’m Milly:) I’ve had pets my entire life, and animals have always been a very special part of mine. I’ve always had a soft spot for animals and truly believe they deserve just as much love, attention, and companionship as we do. I’m a proud pet mom myself, so I understand how important it is to leave your furry family member with someone you can trust. I’d love to be your pet’s new friend, whether that means going on walks, playing, cuddling, keeping them company, or simply making sure they feel safe and loved while you’re away 💗 I’m currently a student and work from home, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to spend plenty of time at home. This means your pets can have my full attention, care, and companionship throughout the day. I live in a comfortable apartment next to the park with my small dog and cat, who are both friendly and used to having other pets around. My home is a calm, cozy environment where your pet can feel safe, comfortable, and cared for
“This was my first time trying rover and Sydney made the process smooth and stress free. She communicated every step of the way and took great care of Purrcy. I would 100% book again.”

About: Hi, my name is Nichole! I grew up in a home full of pets and have loved animals my entire life. I’ve had the privilege of caring for four dogs of all different breeds, including a Chihuahua, Pit Bull, Fox Terrier, Maltese, Cane Corso, Bull Dog and Border Collie. I currently have three cats of my own: Leo, Ralphy, and Colagio. I truly believe pets are family. I treat my own pets like they’re my kids, and I’ll give your pets that same love, patience, and care while they’re with me. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your furry family members, and I take that responsibility seriously. I’m flexible, reliable, and committed to making sure your pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I’ll provide honest communication, plenty of attention, and the care they deserve while you’re away. I have more availability on weekends, which allows me to dedicate quality time to your pets. I love spending my free time with animals, whether it’s going on walks, playing, giving cuddles, or just keeping them company. I’ll make sure your pets feel loved and cared for while you’re away. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or a client’s home, I make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and loved. I like to keep their normal routine as much as possible, including their feeding schedule, walks, playtime, and any special instructions their owners provide. I understand that every pet is different, so I take the time to learn their personality and what makes them feel most at ease. I’ll provide plenty of attention, affection, and care while keeping owners updated so they know their pets are in good hands.

“Jessica has been an incredible help when my husband and I are traveling and need someone to look after our two cats! She always provides videos and pictures ensuring all is being taken care of. I would highly recommend her to look after your fur babies as well!”

“Alex and Kate were amazing! We have a cat that is on the more shy side and he quickly warmed up to Alex. We will definitely be coming back to Alex and Kate. They provided many pictures and took great care of our boys! 10/10, no doubt”

“Gabriela and Maidely always take the best care of my cat when I’m away on vacation! I highly recommend them for anyone in need of drop in visits!”

“This was our first time having Deanna care for our two kitties and I am so happy that we found her. We were anxious to leave our fur babies to go on an overseas trip, but Deanna's well written and thoughtful updates truly put us at ease and it was clear that she read and followed our specific care instructions. I could see from the photos that the kitties were comfortable in her presence. It pleasantly surprised me that even my super shy one came out when she was there, and approached her more closely with each passing day. She understands that they have their individual personalities and respected that in her interactions with them. Deanna even went above and beyond when I asked her to leave nuts out each day for the baby squirrels that visit our deck. We were so pleased with her level of care and will definitely seek her out when the need arises in the future.”

About: I’ve been an animal lover my whole life, my first dog was a German shepherd that I begged my dad to buy from this gardener that came to our house once. I was 7 years old and that was the love of my life, he connected and went everywhere with me. I cried so much when we lost him that my mother tried to adopt 2 more dogs, as much as I love them, they could never replace Loucky. Currently own a cat and a pit bull puppy, I can’t get enough of animals I work overnight and my roomates and I are home all day with my own pets so I am free all day to fulfill our furry friend’s needs Simon ( my cat) and Thunder ( pit bull) gets a set feeding schedule, before and after I go to work I feed them and walk them, then my roommate lunch this around midday and also walk them, then they get afternoon snack

“Jazmin did a great job! She checked in on my little buddy Mosh everyday I was gone and made sure to give him lots of love and playtime! Will definitely book with her anytime I need someone to take care of my furry fwend.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Jersey City
Nataliia is an amazing communicator and super responsive. She is very thorough and great with the instructions I left for my cat. She went above and beyond with brushing and helping remove some painful mats my poor cat had. Would 100% recommend for taking amazing care of your cats!

Kobi took care of my cat Costello for two weeks, and I couldn’t be happier with how it went. Costello is a very shy cat who normally takes weeks to warm up to anyone but thanks to Kobi’s patience, gentleness, and consistent routine with her visits, he was already comfortable and affectionate with her within the first week. I have genuinely never seen him bond with someone that fast. Kobi went above and beyond throughout. She was extremely communicative and always on time, kept me updated regularly, and was great at troubleshooting on the fly if something went wrong with automatic feeder or anything else like that. Costello also tracks litter everywhere, and Kobi proactively kept the house clean the whole time. I came home to a very clean space and a happy, relaxed cat. Having Costello in her care put my mind completely at ease. I highly recommend Kobi. She is very attentive, reliable, and great with cats.

Megan is the best. She is a great communicator giving me the full scope of both how Sensi's overall vibe and wellbeing is with me being gone (she was a happy girl because she LOVES Megan). Sensi is 12 years old and anything can change and I know Megan has the instincts to tell me when something might seem off (Sensi didnt uae the litterbox between visits and Megan tracked that which was greatly appreciated).

Kayanna is heaven sent! I highly recommend her, she’s so very accommodating. I have a very antisocial timid cat, and he warmed up to her and was very comfortable with her. Im so very grateful for the fact that she was able to take care of him for three weeks requesting at the last minute before I go on vacation. Followed instructions, even offered more. She definitely goes above and beyond. She’s very kind and I very highly recommend her. If I ever go on vacation again girl, you know who I’m reaching out to ;)

Camila kept my boy healthy and happy while i'm away. She's very considerate and accomodating and even picked up the keys from my place last minute before i leave and while i'm on remote meetings. Overall, I would reccomend Camila for being trustworthy and reliable as always. Thank you so much Camila!

Rebecca was fantastic! She checked in a few days before to ensure everything was good to go and we found I needed a lock box for my keys, she had an extra one and let me borrow it! When I was overseas she would check in on my sweet ole lady everyday, provide her with her medicine and vitamin with the addition of 7 pictures everyday! I’ll definitely utilize her services again, and next time have a lock box of my own.

Daisy is a dedicated and communicative sitter to our little cat Stella! We are beyond happy with her care and communication during our time away, from her giving any flags of concern to extra attention to make Stella feel more comfortable (i.e. sitting next to her so she’ll eat!). I would absolutely recommend Daisy to anyone looking for drop in visits for their cat.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Jersey City. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
