About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life and understand that every pet has unique needs at every stage of life. I helped care for my family’s West Highland Terrier for nearly 18 years, giving me experience with everything from energetic puppy years to the extra patience and attention senior dogs need. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved while giving owners peace of mind that they’re in caring, dependable hands. As a teacher currently on summer break, I have flexible daytime availability for dog walks and drop-in visits throughout the week. I teach private music lessons in the late afternoons (typically between 4:00 and 7:00 PM, Monday through Thursday), but I’m happy to work with clients to find times that fit their pets’ needs. Depending on location and scheduling, I may also be able to accommodate visits between lessons. I also have availability on Fridays and weekends, making it easier to provide reliable, consistent care. I believe communication is key and will always do my best to be flexible while ensuring your pet receives the attention and care they deserve. When caring for pets in your home, my priority is helping them feel comfortable by keeping them in their familiar routine. I’ll carefully follow your instructions for feeding, walks, playtime, medications (if needed), and any other preferences you have for your pet’s care. Whether your pet enjoys lots of attention or prefers a quieter approach, I’ll tailor my care to their individual personality and needs. I’ll also treat your home with the same respect I would my own, ensuring everything is left clean, secure, and just as I found it. After each visit, I’ll send updates and photos so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - East Newark
Irene did a great job caring for our cat George! This was our first time booking with her for a 5 day trip. George was comfortable with her and we had no issues. Irene was very communicative, sent lots of pictures and followed all of our instructions. We look forward to booking her again!

Alison was wonderful in her care for our kitties. We had 3 inside and 1 outside. She was timely with her visits and sent photos and updates very regularly. There was a thunderstorm during one of the visits and she could not find one of the cats. She wrote to us that she did not want to go upstairs to the bedrooms because we did not give her access. I really respected her professionalism with that. She is honest and trustworthy. We would highly recommend Alison!

naveah was a great care giver for my cat and gave me so much peace of mind while away for work. she’s extremely communicative, prompt, and attentive to my requests and changes to schedule when they arose. grateful to have found her and will be using her services again ✨

Joni was a wonderful sitter for Tigger! She communicated well throughout the stay and took great care of him — including giving him his medication and gently comforting him when he was scared. The only minor hiccup was with the Rover card check-in timing (either forgetting or tapping a bit too early), but that’s a small thing. Overall, I’d highly recommend her and would definitely book again!

Kayla is the most amazing sitter! She takes care of my babies with utmost attention to detail, and timeliness. She takes really fun pics for the rover card, I love reading her messages and pictures on those cards and looking forward to viewing them every time. She even got into a car accident but still came to a morning session not much delayed! She only mentioned to us about the accident after we came back. Such kindhearted and passionate animal lover and carer! I would recommend Kayla to anyone in needs, and it’s super rare for me to leave a review. Thank you Kayla for everything you did for my babies in the last two weeks!

Rebecca did a wonderful job taking care of our two cats giving them treats, probiotics, and lots of love. Even our more shy cat warmed up to her quickly. Rebecca kindly vacuumed up the cat hair a few times also which we greatly appreciated. We look forward to booking with her again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in East Newark. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
