“Rachel was amazing! She gave very detailed Rover card updates, was super responsive, and went above and beyond in cleaning and interacting with my cat. Will definitely rebook :)”

“Christine was great! She went above and beyond during our drop in, noticing we were low on food and offering to fill it. I’m pretty sure one of my cats is obsessed with her, so I’ll definitely be looking to have Christine back to drop in on my kitties! Definitely recommend her :)”

“Angela provided outstanding service in taking care of my cat, Finn. She sent pictures of him hiding under rugs and the bed. Made sure his food and water were full and that his litter was clean. I came back from a six-day trip and he was his usual goofy self like I never left! Thanks, Angela!! Five stars well earned :)”

“We booked Rebecca to take care of our cat, Madison while we were on vacation. The process was smooth, updates came through daily and we even extended our stay (and our sitter) knowing Madison was looked after. Will book again!”

“Alena was simply amazing with my cat Athena. She took care of her for over a week and always made sure she was happy and well cared for. After every drop-in, she would let me know how everything went, send me amazing pictures, and provide a detailed update. You can tell Alena truly loves animals. She’s caring, polite, and incredibly attentive. I felt completely at ease knowing Athena was in such good hands. I would definitely recommend Alena to anyone looking for a wonderful and reliable pet sitter. Thank you so much, Alena!”

About: Pets have always been a part of my family growing up and caring for them has always been a responsibility of mine. Over the years, friends and family have trusted me to look after their pets like they were my own, feeding them, walking them, cleaning litter boxes, and giving them all the playtime and cuddles they want. Whether it's an energetic pup who needs a good walk to burn off some steam or a chill cat who just wants their space respected and dinner on time, I pay attention to what each pet actually needs, not just a one-size-fits-all visit. I'm reliable, I show up when I say I will, and I'll keep you posted with updates (and probably a few too many photos😉) while you're away. Your pet won't just be checked on. They’ll be cared for the way I’d want someone to care for mine🫶🏼 I currently work from home in Hell’s Kitchen Manhattan, which gives me plenty of opportunities to take breaks doing something I love: spending time with animals😍 I am available to visit pets at home and/or go for morning, afternoon or evening walks. I welcome any and all direction from pet parents on how to care for your pet either while doing a home-visit or when we go on walks together.
“Amanda did a wonderful job taking care of our two cats! She accommodated our various requests and sent us pictures of the cats every day. We will definitely consider her the next time we require a pet sitter!”
About: I love going on long walks on the beach, and also with your dogs! I'll make sure to thoroughly pet your pooches, and will be a devoted caregiver. I work part time at cafe but will be available for duty most days a week. Since I have everything input in my Google calendar, I'll be sure not to be late for anything. My special skills would be: not being afraid to get foreign objects out of clamped shut mouths, giving extra long belly rubs, and willing to clean up your dogs' messes. I would say my best petsitter trait is that I love to brush and comb dogs and that my worst trait is that I always feel bad denying a dog human food, even though I know it's not good for them. I have a flexible work schedule, and have been a reliable pet sitter for all my friends. I’ve been the pet auntie for several dogs and cats, and would love to care for your pets when you need a helping hand. I carefully follow the pet care instructions and always ask for clarification as needed. I love sending pet candids during the visit. I am comfortable providing pets their pills, helping groom them, feeding them both refrigerated and frozen foods, and making sure that they’re happy and healthy.

Christopher was great! He visited my two cats twice a day while I was out of town for a week and sent videos and picture updates of each visits. My cats can take a little time to warm up to people but they loved having him stop by. Would definitely recommend Christopher!

Roxandra was a wonderful sitter for our cat Daphne. She was communicative throughout our trip and shared great photos of Daphne in the app. She even took care of a situation where our cat threw up during the day. We are very grateful to her - 5/5 stars!

Alex was wonderful with my two cats! Communication was excellent - she sent me lots of photos to keep me posted of how they were doing. They both seemed very happy and relaxed upon my return. She even vacuumed up the carpet a bit so the apartment was clean when I got home. Will definitely book her again!

Summer watched Remy for a few days while we were on vacation! She was great about giving us updates and photos daily. She had to give Remy medication to keep him calm due to anxiety when we leave. He was very well taken care of! I would highly recommend Summer!

After every drop-in, she would let me know how everything went, send me amazing pictures, and provide a detailed update. You can tell Alena truly loves animals. We are grateful that we found Rebecca as a drop-in sitter for our fur-baby Raphael, who is a very affectionate cat that needs some company when his family is away traveling. While sitting for us, Rebecca sent us lots of pictures, scooped litter, played with him, and checked his ears daily (as Raphael is prone to ear infections). We plan to hire her again for a longer sitting!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Union City. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
