“I am so happy we found Candiance to check in on our doggy. She is so patient and understanding to our dog’s needs. She has great communication and it was easy for me to trust her to care for our dog.”

About: Experience walking and caring for dogs and cats. I have fostered several animals throughout college and have trained dogs of all ages. My own pet is AKC Caine Good Citizen Certified and I have a research background in dog Vet Care and can make adjustments to care based on breed and any current health issues. I make time to take my own pet out on adventures and I'd love to be able to take yours out for some fun as well! I'm vigilant of potential dangers with care for a pet outside of their home. I take notice of areas/ other pets to avoid and will physically step in to protect your pets boundaries.
“Angela provided outstanding service in taking care of my cat, Finn. She sent pictures of him hiding under rugs and the bed. Made sure his food and water were full and that his litter was clean. I came back from a six-day trip and he was his usual goofy self like I never left! Thanks, Angela!! Five stars well earned :)”

“Lana was a loving mom to our cat Aeva! Lana not only gave food and cleaned poop, she played and spoilt Aeva until she purred contentedly... Lana even visited her twice on a day where she had a family event and is not business minded whatsoever!”

“Javier took great care of my cat for two weeks and was always kind, reliable, and responsible. I truly appreciate his dedication and would definitely ask for his help again. Highly recommended.”

“Randi was great! She Took care of our two cats while we were out of town for the week. She made sure to take photos and keep us updated with how they were doing the whole time!”

About: I've always been the type of person to greet every living thing with a waving hello to a cow, smiling at the turtles at the pond, and asking your pet's how their day has been. Since I've stared on Rover, I've had the pleasure of meeting many pets through repeated housesitting, and going out for walks. Every pet is unique with their own needs and wants. I'm attentive and pay close attention to any scheduled meal plans, checking in on their stool, and make sure everything is clean. If you ever have any concerns, I'm available to answer your questions :) At the moment I'm available at anytime, so any scheduled weekly routines or long periods of housesitting would work with me. If you have any trips coming up please let me know, I'll be happy to work with you. I see your pets as your family, so I care for them very dearly and make sure they have all the love and attention they need. I'm always taking notice if they want a treat, need a walk, or want some social times with other dogs their size. If they simply need company, I'll make sure they have everything they need, and create a nice, warm, relaxing vibe for them where they feel comfortable. Depending on how you like things to be done, I would love to follow your lead with whatever makes you feel comfortable. I want you to know that you and your pet are in good hands.
“Melissa was reliable, caring, and communicative. She went above and beyond in her care and gave me peace of mind while I was away. She understood my cats’ needs well and took care of my FIV+ cat like her own.”

“Pamela was very friendly and loving with our pet, was on time and as our dog got more accustomed to her (this was the first time), they even went on a little walk together 😊I would highly recommend her!!”

About: I’ve been taking care of cats when I was teenagers. My first cat was 17 years old. I just got my new cat, I bought everything for my cat. I am good with keeping everything as clean as possible, vacuum everyday. I also have experience taking care of small dogs. I took care of my step daughter's two Yorkshire Terrier dogs when she was travelling, One of them is more than 10 years old. I fed the dogs and clean the dog's face, comb their hair, play with them. It was fun time. They like me more than my husband, haha. I’m free after work, I work at Wall street Manhattan, living near Fort Lee NJ. I will be available after work Monday to Friday, weekends will be more flexible. I bought everything automatic for my cat. The automatic litter box, I clean it every day. Water fountain has filter, I wash and change the water every 3 to 4 days with boiled water (cooling down) due to my cat only has one kidney. Cat food, I feed him with wet can food twice a day and with dry food automatic feeding. I mix different cat food due to his sensitive stomach.
“Both of my pets cat and the hamster look great upon our return home (8 days away). Mari took great care of them, plus was able to make friends with extremely shy cat.. usually he won’t eat when we were away. This time seems that he gained weight and his coat is shiny . Two times per day I had detailed updates about how my pets are doing.”

“She is absolutely the best! She was supposed to drop in for 30 minutes, but she spent several hours and even took my dog to the dog park because she knew I’m overwhelmed with the bar exam and moving🥹🥹🥹 I can’t thank her enough and highly recommend her.”

“I completely trust Calvin to look after my two cats while I’m away. I always come back to find them happy and well cared for. He responds quickly and scheduling a visit with him is always easy. I really appreciate his help taking care of my cats.”

“Murray was an excellent cat sitter. He fed and played with my cats every day and even got my most timid cat to come out of hiding. He also took care of some minor things when I asked him like a camera the cats knocked over. I am really glad I hired Murray and Ana to take care of my cats while I was gone - and my cats were glad as well.”

About: Well to begin with, I have experience walking numerous dogs since the day I could remember. My love for animals in general is immense, contributing to the positive well being of animals is my passion and being able to focus that into a career is something I would have never imagined simply by making sure dogs go when they need too. It all began by simply watching over my own dog, and then it lead me into walking my neighbors dogs and eventually I took it upon myself to walk others in the neighborhood. The first dogs I took care of was a chunky miniature pincher and a 70 lbs pit bull terrier, I am not prejudice towards animals specifically dogs since they are in my field and I have years of experience with different breeds of all sorts. As I am a new LLC on the rise I am in the midst of obtaining my ARC certifications for the health and general knowledge of animals, considering on a professional level I take this accordingly and not enough dog walking companies supply this for their walkers. Being trustworthy, reliable, respectable, caring and cautious are few of the many traits I carry and endorse for my business in which I believe are critical in the dog walking business. Every dog is unique, just like a person I would not want to disrespect their space and have them catch an unapproachable vibe from me. I like to make sure I build comfort and confidence with the dogs I will work with, considering not many may be comfortable with letting someone unfamiliar walk them, my specialty. Walking dogs for me personally is never something I like to do in a haste, I enjoy in executing my job correctly and efficiently. I make sure every walk is special at times they come back home with a better attitude than the dogs left in. My main goal for the dogs are exercise, safety, fun and making sure they are able to do their business enough. I am a full time dog walker and lifetime animal lover so meeting accommodations for him or her is never a problem. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile hopefully I gain the opportunity and trust of being able to walk your furry child! Taking care of pups is my daily life. I have my own pups so it comes to me naturally, to want to take care of others! I do this full time! First of all, i make sure the pup is as comfortable as possible make them feel as if the parents are home. I walked them as many times as possible, keep all their needs up to date & give lots of love.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - West New York
Deanna was absolutely wonderful with our cat, Micho. She took great care of him while we were away and sent us detailed updates every day, which gave us so much peace of mind. Micho is usually shy with new people, but he became very comfortable with her by the end, he was waiting for her, following her around the house, asking for pets, and even letting her pick him up. She also went above and beyond with his food, water, litter box, and even helped us deal with an unexpected ant problem around his food area. It was obvious that she really cared about him and spent quality time playing with him and giving him attention. We came home to a happy and well cared for cat. We would definitely trust Deanna with Micho again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable sitter.

She was incredible. One of our cats always has accidents out of the litter when we go out of town (due to stress) and with Roxandra the incidents barely happened. Our boys were so happy with her care, we could clearly see on the pictures that they enjoyed the time with her. She genuinely cared for them and played, engaging them as best as possible. Could t recommend her more! Thanks Roxandra!!

Bri was wonderful with my cat during her drop-in visits. I have already used her twice, and she is incredibly reliable and communicates efficiently with great updates. I especially appreciated her help recently when I had to make a last-minute booking—she was completely accommodating and saved the day. I feel totally at ease leaving my cat in her hands and will absolutely continue booking her!

I couldn't be more grateful for Ryota’s help while we were away on vacation. The pictures, check ins, and medicine administration helped us travel with more peace of mind knowing our kitty was in such great hands. I hope that the next time I need a Rover that Ryota will be available!

My cat Millie instantly fell in love with Madelyn! Madelyn was so kind and helpful when with my cat. She kept Millie fed, played with her and sent us updates every time which we really appreciated! I’m so grateful Madelyn was able to care for Millie. Thank you!
Jenny took amazing care of my two cats, Millie and Annie. She made sure all their needs were met and kept me up to date on everything including hairballs and a day my more finicky girl had a so-so appetite. She also made sure they got pets and play, took tons of great pics, and left things looking great for when we returned home! I always stress leaving my girls to go away- with Jenny I’ve had the best peace of mind knowing they’re in good hands. Absolute recommend!

Xinyu was amazing! Luna is very anxious and usually takes a long time to warm up to people, but she became so comfortable with Xinyu! She was incredibly kind, patient, and took so much time to make sure my cat felt safe and cared for. This was my first time using Rover since moving to New York, and I was nervous about leaving the country, but Xinyu made everything so easy. Her detailed updates and communication gave me so much peace of mind as a nervous cat mom. Also she sent so many pictures I could not of picked a better sitter! I would highly recommend Xinyu and will definitely be booking with her again!

Just returned home to some happy and well-cared for kitties! Victoria sent lots of updates and adorable photos during her visits, surprisingly even managing to bring my shy cat out of hiding for some play time! She took care of everything I asked for and kept the kitties very happy.

Mohona was fantastic with our cat! She was very attentive, dependable, and made sure everything was taken care of while we were away. She kept us updated throughout her stay and it was clear our cat was in great hands. We came home to a happy cat and everything exactly as we left it. Highly recommend Mohona!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
