“I can’t say enough good things about Candiance! She was so communicative throughout her stay with our dog and provided us with amazing photos and videos. She sent daily updates and our dog was so happy he barely even noticed we were gone. If I could give 10 stars I would!”

About: I offer dog walking, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, and plenty of love for you pets. I work Monday-Friday full time, but I have flexibility to work from home so my schedule is flexible. I'm happy to arrange my schedule as needed. I am easily adaptable to different environments so I will stick to ground rules set by the client. Strong communicator so will make sure everything goes smoothly.
“Lana is great! She texted us daily updates with pictures and videos, is super neat and organized and I could tell that my cat had a safe and happy time, would definitely recommend booking time with Lana!”

About: Well to begin with, I have experience walking numerous dogs since the day I could remember. My love for animals in general is immense, contributing to the positive well being of animals is my passion and being able to focus that into a career is something I would have never imagined simply by making sure dogs go when they need too. It all began by simply watching over my own dog, and then it lead me into walking my neighbors dogs and eventually I took it upon myself to walk others in the neighborhood. The first dogs I took care of was a chunky miniature pincher and a 70 lbs pit bull terrier, I am not prejudice towards animals specifically dogs since they are in my field and I have years of experience with different breeds of all sorts. As I am a new LLC on the rise I am in the midst of obtaining my ARC certifications for the health and general knowledge of animals, considering on a professional level I take this accordingly and not enough dog walking companies supply this for their walkers. Being trustworthy, reliable, respectable, caring and cautious are few of the many traits I carry and endorse for my business in which I believe are critical in the dog walking business. Every dog is unique, just like a person I would not want to disrespect their space and have them catch an unapproachable vibe from me. I like to make sure I build comfort and confidence with the dogs I will work with, considering not many may be comfortable with letting someone unfamiliar walk them, my specialty. Walking dogs for me personally is never something I like to do in a haste, I enjoy in executing my job correctly and efficiently. I make sure every walk is special at times they come back home with a better attitude than the dogs left in. My main goal for the dogs are exercise, safety, fun and making sure they are able to do their business enough. I am a full time dog walker and lifetime animal lover so meeting accommodations for him or her is never a problem. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile hopefully I gain the opportunity and trust of being able to walk your furry child! Taking care of pups is my daily life. I have my own pups so it comes to me naturally, to want to take care of others! I do this full time! First of all, i make sure the pup is as comfortable as possible make them feel as if the parents are home. I walked them as many times as possible, keep all their needs up to date & give lots of love.

“Bria watched our senior dog, Winnie, for 1 night and was absolutely amazing!! She was very communicative before the booking and during her time with Winnie. She sent lots of pics and videos and followed all the care instructions to a T! We really felt like Winnie was in good hands. Thank you so much, Bria!! I will definitely book again!”

“Carlos was amazing! A true dog lover. Great communication with daily photos and videos while keeping me up to date. He went the extra mile taking care of Georgie who really enjoyed spending time with him. Carlos took the time to meet and greet Georgie and me the day before and it was amazing. Would recommend to anyone!”

“Yasmin is dog whisperer!! She has amazing energy. She followed all the instructions and gave us regular updates. Our dog was totally chill on her day with her.”

“Morgan was so great with my 5 year old beagle. She cared for him for a week in my apartment and did a marvelous job at keeping up with his high energy and slightly high-maitnance routine. She is professional, dependable, quick to respond, and will 10/10 be booking with her again.”

“Denise is a blessing! I have no words to describe how grateful I am and lucky to have found Denise during the holidays. While no one was available on this app, Denise was flexible and kind to watch my senior dog while I was traveling to see my family for a week. I highly recommend Denise because she demonstrates everything that you hope for while you are away: she sends daily updates makes you feel that your dog is safe, she is trustworthy and honest, she is very flexible and communicates clearly. Thank you Denise and I will definitely rebook your services if your schedule permits. Sailor misses you!”

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life, and had 4 dogs at a time for most of that. I’m experienced with senior dogs as well as puppy training. I train dogs with maximum positive reinforcement. “Natalia watched my dog over the course of a long 6 day house-sitting. She did a fantastic job with him and gave me great updates throughout the stay. She left my place more spotless than before and I felt confident leaving for my trip. Thank you!”

“May is an absolute gem!! She goes above and beyond in terms of communication and care. Our dog LOVES her- we love getting videos and updates about their time together. May goes the extra mile when she stays out our house (bringing in mail, taking out trash, tidying up) - we love it when she stays over and recommend her highly and without reservation!”

“I could not be happier with Sara! This was my first time having a non-family member watch my dog while I was out of town and I was so nervous about it. I looked at a lot of options before deciding on Sara and am so glad I did - Sara stayed at my place and with Sasha for two weeks. She took such wonderful careful of Sasha and sent me multiple pictures and updates every day. Sasha clearly loved her and Sara treated her like her own, making me feel so at ease and letting me enjoy my vacation without worrying about her. On top of that, she left my apartment just as clean as I left it. I will definitely be using Sara in the future and am so relieved to have found someone I can trust! Could not recommend Sara more.”

Shriya is such a joy to work with! She is an A+ Catsitter. She has the most positive, can-do attitude and she can tackle anything you throw at her! We had a somewhat complicated care regimen for our cat who required several medications and a cleansing of a wound on a daily basis. Shriya was timely, responsible, did everything just right, and so upbeat throughout. She also was very communicative with us—sending us updates and photos and videos each day. I cannot thank her enough! She put us all at ease by being so great at her job! Shriya should be your first choice for catsitting—she’s wonderful!

Nataly was absolutely outstanding. From the moment she met our animals, she was kind, compassionate, and clearly was experienced in caring for animals. She sent us picture updates numerous times a day, was always ready to answer any questions, and went above and beyond in making sure our pets were happy. You should hire her!!!

Linda was absolutely amazing with our senior King Charles. He liked her right away and it was the first time I’ve left him and not felt guilty and worried. She was so sweet and attentive with him and sent me updates and pictures several times a day- he looked so happy in all of them! I highly recommend!

We were in town for a couple of weeks and were grateful to have connected with Lorraine. She was sooo good with our little dog that just needed a friend to hang out with as we went out at night from time to time. We will certainly hope to reconnect with Lorraine next time we are in town. I highly recommend her!

My experience with Alitha was wonderful. My anxious and fearful dog took a liking to her immediately. I have never left him with anyone outside of our household, so I was very nervous. Alitha put me right at ease with her lovely demeanor. She sent me updates throughout the day and she made it possible for me to enjoy my daughter's wedding knowing Henry was in very capable and loving hands.I wouldn't hesitate to use her again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred West New York walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in West New York maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in West New York choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
