“Adam was great! It was the first time we were away from our puppy over night and we were very nervous. He took great care of her and sent us videos everyday! Will definitely use him again:)”

“Hawthorne was an absolute gem. He shared pics and videos of our pup all day while they were together - hanging on the couch, at the park, etc. He was incredibly responsive and easy to work with when my schedule changed a bit. My pup came home happy as ever. Would highly recommend!”

“We had a wonderful experience with Onelsis. She took excellent care of Samba and kept us updated with lots of photos and messages throughout her stay. It was very reassuring to see how happy, comfortable, and well cared for Samba was. Onelsis was attentive, caring, and clearly loves animals. We are very grateful for the great care she provided and would definitely book with her again. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”

“Emily and Daniel were the best! They made the entire experience super easy, and my dog loved staying with them. They were so kind and on top of communicating. I'd highly recommend using them for future sits!”

“Alyssa is fabulous. She was very quick to respond throughout the booking process and during our pup's stay with her. Our dog was with her a full week and we received photos and short updates every morning. We could tell that our pup was happy and getting walks, playtime, and lots of belly rubs. I appreciated Alyssa's willingness to meet in person briefly, ahead of having her watch our dog. She's great--I hope to rebook with her again!”

“Stefan and his family took amazing care of my dog while I was away for a week!!! Further, Stefan eased my anxiety by agreeing to a meet and greet before my departure (as this was my dog's first stay with Stefan) and I could tell instangly that he truly loves dogs. Stefan sent many photos/updates of my dog every day and I could tell that my dog was comfortable and happy in his care. I will be using Stefan for future dog sitting, he is the best!”

“Lorraine went above and beyond for us when we needed someone for Kiwi last minute. Responded super fast and made Kiwi feel comfortable and relaxed. We truly appreciate all your help and will be reaching out again in the future!”

“We left Phoebe with Angela for a short stint, and felt very comfortable. Angela is in a doorman building, her apartment is spotless, and she was on top of her duties the entire time. She sent us photo after photo showing Phoebe enjoying herself. When I picked her up, Phoebe dug in her heels and didn't want to leave. We will definitely repeat.”

“Ryan and Jefra took wonderful care of Pika! They were very responsive and accommodating, and they sent me regular updates and beautiful photos of my pup during the week I was away. Highly recommend!”

“Randi is the best petsitter you can ever get or hope to get! I had to go away for a all week and this was my first time ever leaving my cat with a stranger and in a different house. Before leaving I was a little anxious since my cat is not used at all to be with other people but for the all trip Randi sent me pictures of my cat and kept me posted about how it was going. She literally went above and beyond and I could say from the pictures that she sent me and also when I went to pick up my cat, how good she was with him. I have to say that my cat doesn’t get comfortable with people easily and literally when I went to pick up my cat, he didn’t even wanna leave her place anymore lol She also made sure that he was eating enough and had enough water every day. Randi went to buy extra food and litter without even me asking her to do so, just to make sure that my cat had all he needed. She was super caring and nice with him the all time. Honestly I couldn’t be happier. I highly recommend her for your pet. You will be very happy to leave your hairy friend in good hands. Thank you so much Randi. I will certainly book her again.”

“Took great care of StarFox! I know my dog enjoyed his stay and I appreciate all the time spent with him playing and walking. My dog had a prior injury and he got the best care and attention possible, even a visit to the vet, medical instructions, everything was taken care of. My dog was taken care of like he was family! My dog is a clever fox, so he can be a handful sometimes. Fantastic job and would definitely book again when I’m out of town. Great photos too and updates!”

“Melanie was an absolute pleasure to work with. It was clear she cared for Archie as if she were her own. She kept me updated throughout her stay and proactively sent lots of photos (which I loved!), so I never had to wonder how she was doing. It was also obvious that Archie truly enjoyed staying with her. I highly recommend Melanie — and I know Archie gives her two paws up!”

“Ashley was so amazing - she went above and beyond to make sure my dogs were cared for (especially when my little pup was having stomach issues unexpectedly). Nothing phased her and she was super communicative along the way. Can’t recommend her enough. Trust her 100%!”

“I cannot recommend Chi-wing highly enough for the exceptional care they provided to my dog, Stewie, during the two weeks my family and I were out of the country. This was the first time we left Stewie with a stranger, and we were naturally anxious, especially since Stewie is blind due to cataracts and requires special care. We weren’t sure how he would react to a new environment and being around other dogs, but Chi made the transition seamless. Stewie has multiple medical needs, including daily medications for Cushing’s disease and congestive heart failure, as well as insulin injections for his diabetes. Chi-wing and his girlfriend handled everything with exceptional professionalism and care, ensuring he got his treatments on time and with great patience. Even when Stewie was hesitant to eat on the first night, they worked patiently with him until he felt comfortable and settled in. What truly stood out was their constant communication—they provided us with daily updates, pictures, and videos of Stewie interacting with other dogs and enjoying his day. It was such a relief to see him happy and comfortable, even in a completely new environment.”

“We went away for the 4th of July weekend, and Pamela took great care of Scar and Nena. I noticed that my pups got attached to her 🫠☺️🥰 Thank you Pamela for your great communication, the love and care that you gave my little ones. See you again!!!”

“Ethel was amazing with my pup, Leviathan! She took great care of him, followed his good and care needs and sent me plenty of pictures and videos with timely updates. She was even flexible and courteous enough to keep him when my flight got cancelled last minute. I appreciate her taking care of my pup and I would recommend her a d would definitely use her services again!”

“Yuan is the best EVER. She helped when I urgently needed to be with family. Not only did she help me during a quick turn around, Yuan was flexible as my timing changed, steady, and calm. Most, most importantly, my pup has never been so calm and unphased when I picked her up and she’s a mini Aussie/Border Collie (!!). Fantastic communication, great exercise, and great care and concern all around. I’m afraid Yuan will be tough to book in the future - she’s that amazing. ;) Thank you, Yuan!”

“First time utilizing this king of service for my dog. I am very happy with Iliana. She is super responsible and great with dogs, the proof is, my 12 years old cranky baby Sammy. He was happy and relaxed with Iliana. She is a dog lover and Sammy was comfortable with her. Soooo happy I found Iliana to take care Sammy. I recommend her 100%.”

Tiffany gave me daily updates and was incredibly patient Cruella. She has anxiety and takes some time to feel comfortable around new people, but that didn’t stop Tiffany and her husband from giving her so much love, attention, and care. I could tell my dog was genuinely happy and comfortable with them, which gave me so much peace of mind while we were traveling. We would definitely choose Tiffany again because we know my dog is in great hands. We’re so grateful for how well they took care of her!

Great service from start to finish! Jimmy and Noah were friendly, professional, and helpful. I had a wonderful experience and truly appreciated the attention to detail and excellent customer service. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a great experience with their pets. Definitely will be back to use their service.

Ivette and Gonzalo took great care of my 12 year old Shih-Tzu, Sparky. They were very open in communicating with me during the length of Sparky's stay with them and sent me loads of images of him which was very comforting. They were exetremely considerate and watched him for an extra week at late notice. Highly reccommend them to anyone needing some boarding for their loved pets. Thanks guys!!

We’ve used Lucas a couple of times now for overnight boarding and most recently for a long stay of 10 nights. Archie comes back happy, well cared for, and tired. He loves being boarded with other dogs too. Lucas is reasonably flexible with pick up and drop offs which is super helpful! He always sends updates when we ask. It can be hard to find someone that will take on a big dog in Hoboken and were very glad we found Lucas.

Leila was so communicative both before and throughout Penny’s stay. She checked in beforehand to best understand Penny’s needs as a 15yo senior and how she got along with other dogs before even booking. I was updated with photos and check-ins throughout her stay. I would recommend Leila highly!

Shirley took good care of our pup Rooster and would definitely book with her again! She was able to accommodate a meet & greet on short notice and asked great questions to get to know our pup. During the stay, she provided updates and pictures which was great. She is kind and easy to work with. Most of all you can tell she really loves animals and takes the time understand & respect their personalities. Thank you so much, Shirley!

Amanda was amazing with my doggie Simba! She was able to accommodate a last minute request which we appreciate so much! Simba had lots of cuddles, fun, and walks! Amanda provided many updates and adorable pictures, providing peace of mind. We will definitely be re-booking in the future!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
