“Kessy is so sweet and went above and beyond to accommodate my pup on such short notice. She was very communicative and responsive during boarding, and I am looking forward to booking with her again. Thank you, Kessy!”

“I’m so happy I found Emily! My dog tends to be pretty high energy and which makes me a little nervous. Emily was awesome— she communicated with me and sent me photos through out Harlem’s stay. He was very calm and well taken care of. I will certainly be booking again!!”

“It was my first time leaving Cotton with a sitter after a couple of years so I was not sure if he will adjust to being in a foreign environment with strangers however after the first update and pictures I could see that Margarita is a friendly and caring sitter and he was at ease. I received frequent updates and pictures as details on how he was behaving. I will highly recommend Margarita & Christian when considering to leave your furry friend they will be in a safe environment and will be well taken care of. Communication from beginning to end was great and I will definitely use their service in the future.”

“Angela is great! She kept me updated every day with messages and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind. I always get a little nervous leaving Lizzie with a sitter because she can be anxious around new people and places. But after four days with Angela, Lizzie was happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. When I picked her up, she even tried to follow Angela back into her building! I would absolutely trust Angela with Lizzie again and highly recommend her.”

“Sanaz was so great for agreeing to watch Roscoe last minute. She sent update photos and messages every day. He also was in such a happy mood when I went to pick him up. Will definitely be requesting her again in the near future.”

“I know my dog has found a home away from home! Maisha was consistently sending me updates and pictures. Made sure my dog was well taken care of and having fun. I was happy to see pictures of him with other poo dogs! I would definitely recommend”

“I’ve used Marika twice now and both times have been wonderful! She is attentive to Kace’s needs, sends pictures, and dedicates ample time for play. Kace loves other dogs, so he has a blast spending time with Marika & Suki. I’ll definitely continue using her for future sittings.”

“David and his wife were FANTASTIC! They treated my dog Tati with love and care. She has horrible separation anxiety so we are selective with who we trust but we would definitely hire them again. They sent regular updates and were really responsive. I’m happy to have found a reliable sitter in Bushwick and would highly recommend!”

“Absolutely loved my experience with Jatna. My dog stayed with her for 5 nights and I received updates and pics everyday! It was his first time staying elsewhere overnight for that length of time, but she seemed to make him so comfortable. Thank you again!!”

“My dog has never been so happy to see a stranger! She immediately connected with Teraesa who provided videos and pics of Jazzy throughout her stay, showing how much fun she was having. I would definitely book again! Thanks Teraesa for taking care of my princess!”

“First time booking on Rover. Elaine is very accommodating and I was able to book her on short notice. I have a six month old pug puppy who is very energetic and just got a neuter surgery, and she was able to accommodate his needs and care for him. She sent photos while I was away, mainly of him napping so I know he was tired out. She provided feedback on his pulling behaviors on walks and suggested different types of harnesses. I will definitely book her again, and thank you, Elaine!”

“First time boarding with Angela and I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for my baby. She is incredibly sweet and it’s obvious she has a special love for animals. I won’t trust my dog with anyone else now, so grateful to find her through this app. Angela goes above and beyond in all ways to make your dogs’ stay as comfortable as possible and she’s super easy to coordinate with. I’ve already asked her to watch my baby when I go out of town next month… when you find the right sitter you know!!!”

“I’m a kind of crazy pet parent with a 10 page dogsitting guide. Kiersten read the whole thing, remembered every detail, texted to make sure of things… She was amazing. Highly, highly recommended!”

“Jay was friendly, responsive, and great with our dog during a boarding stay in his home. We got lots of updates and pictures and felt comfortable with his care. We would be glad to go back to him for care for our dog again!”

Ethel was wonderful, and I would highly recommend her! We were nervous about leaving our 5-month-old Golden Retriever puppy, Remy, for the first time—especially for 10 nights—but Ethel put us at ease right away. She was incredibly patient, flexible, and attentive to Remy’s routine, making sure he had everything he needed to feel comfortable and at home. She gave him the perfect balance of playtime and downtime, with walks in the park, games of tug-of-war and fetch, and lots of playtime with her Golden Retriever, Happy. One of the best parts was the updates. Ethel sent us photos and videos three times a day, and we always looked forward to seeing what Remy was up to. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing he was happy, well cared for, and having such a great time. We couldn’t have asked for a better first boarding experience!

Onur and Ekin took wonderful care of our Maki while we were away. They kept us updated with messages and photos, and it was clear she was comfortable, happy, and well cared for. Maki can be a little particular, so it means a lot to find someone patient and attentive who understands her needs. We came home to a relaxed, happy dog, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book with Onur again. Highly recommended!

Yuliia did a fantastic job taking care of our two small dogs. She was on time and maintained excellent communication throughout. One of our dogs takes heart medication twice a day; Yuliia was diligent in understanding and following our dog's health needs. I was initially hesitant about leaving our dogs for several nights based on Rover reviews—once I observed Yuliia interacting with Sasha & Mika, I felt at ease as she quickly established a good rapport.

This is the third time boy stayed with Onelsis, and the longest time so far (13 days)—she once again exceeded my expectations, and I will definitely book again! I appreciated how she kept me updated regularly throughout his stay with plenty of pictures and thoughtful messages about how he was doing, his eating, his walks and interactions with other dogs. She went an extra mile making sure there were no issues with his interactions with other dogs ( Boy is typically very easy going but became a little cranky mid-stay) and adjusted accordingly. I knew I could rely on her taking excellent care of Boy and really appreciate how attentive she was to all of his needs. Would definitely recommend her!

carla is a lovely person. she sent me many photos and updates of my dog, and i felt very comfortable that my dog was being well cared for and loved while i was away. i would definitely board oona with her again in the future. thank you so much, carla…all very much appreciated!

This was our first occasion to have Robin take care of Ernie. We were searching for someone in our new neighborhood, and were so lucky to have found her. Robin was very open to a meet/greet and showed us her apartment, as well. which helped us feel confident in our decision to leave Ernie in her care. It was very easy to see how much Robin enjoys taking care of dogs and provides them with loving care. She provided us with numerous updates, including photos, which made us feel relaxed knowing Ernie was in good hands. We highly recommend Robin for anyone looking for a dependable and caring person to care for their pet. We will definitely use Robing for future boarding needs.

Clara was an exceptional sitter for my dog, Bagel! She not only sent me frequent updates to make sure to give me peace of mind but also went out of her way to ask really detailed questions during meet and greet. She was fantastic. I would definitely rebook and highly recommend her!
Michael watched my almost 11 year old pup for a few days and he was great! He was very accommodating with adding an extra day to my already booked stay for her. As well, as being understanding when my flight was slightly delayed. Stella seemed to have a great time with her new friends!

Patrick was wonderful with our dog, Apple Jack. Professional and welcoming, Patrick made us feel comfortable leaving our fur baby in his care. The updates with regular messages, photos, and videos, gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. We truly appreciated the attentiveness and kindness, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book with Patrick again. Thank you so much!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
