“Euitae was amazing! He took care of Kairo for a couple of hours and he left us energetic and came back tired. We love to see that, and I’m glad Euitae kept up with Kairo’s exercise! Will definitely be using his services in the future :)”

“We’re from out of town. Back to back 1/2 day sittings. Frank couldn’t have been nicer. We were updated on feeding, walks, and chill time which was appreciated. Will definitely use again if we’re in the area.”

About: I've had dogs in my life for as long as I can remember! I've dog sat, been a dog walker, and have taken care of all sorts of breeds and dogs with special needs -- feeding, walking, bathing, and snuggling! I work from home full time so I’m able to meet whatever needs your pup has and I’m happy to be with them all day! I live with two dog-loving roommates who would be tried and true playmates for your pups! Our apartment has a good size living room and hallway for inside play, and we live right near Riverside park. I've stayed in others' homes while caring for their dogs for extended and overnight stays and I am courteous, clean, and respectful of your space and privacy.
“Kelli was awesome with Maya! Maya had an awesome time and Kelli was also very flexible with us when we were running behind. Will definitely use her again!”

“Tingli was great with our very shy Shih Tzu Benji. She picked up his vibe and was so gentle and caring. She took so many pics which was very comforting. It was very obvious she bonded with him and she has such a great approach to her care with dogs. Highly recommended, very good communication/professionalism!”

“Stacey and Andrew were fantastic with my girl, Sol! 💕 They sent regular photo updates, kept me in the loop throughout her stay, and were incredibly helpful when I needed care on short notice. The best part was seeing how comfortable Sol was with them! Every photo made it clear she was happy, relaxed, and getting plenty of love (I think she spent most of the stay on Stacey's lap! 🤣). I'd absolutely trust Stacey and Andrew with Sol again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for caring, reliable sitters. Thank you!”

“Stella had a great day with you, thank you! She's completely tuckered out :) Eleanor was great at communicating too. We couldn't be happier. Will definitely go with Eleanor again!”

“Easy to talk to and coordinate with, Nyx our Puppy was excited to see Katherine on her second day care stay. A sure sign that she is giving a great experience to our dog. Thanks”

“We really appreciate Flora looking after Fido. He is happy to trot in and spend the day with her, and it gives us great peace of mind that he’s safe and happy during the day.”

“Chris was fantastic from start to finish! He asked all the right questions about our puppy and was open to all of his quirks (despite us being self conscious), offered to pick him up because he was in our neighborhood, and kept us apprised of all of his activity - even his BM’s! Chris was also just exceedingly friendly and warm. Great first experience with Rover and we will go back to Chris any day.”

About: Dogs are a part of the family and they deserve the best life possible through all the sniffaries and enrichment their hearts desire. I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life and I currently have an aussiedoodle with special dietary and grooming needs and foster pups through MuddyPaws NYC. I only take 1 dog at a time (in addition to my own) so your pup gets the attention they need. While I’m not a professional dog trainer, I strongly believe in constantly and consistently training dogs through positive reinforcement only. I do not go to dog parks or let dogs off leash for their own safety and to avoid reactivity. I’m well versed in dog body language and believe mental enrichment activities along with physical exercise leads to a happier pup. I love taking pups to any place that is dog-friendly because they too deserve to explore the world and live their best lives possible. I have a flexible schedule during the week which allows me to care for all your dog’s needs and take them out for regular walks. It would be helpful to have a general overview of your pup’s personality and I’ll follow any instructions you have. To avoid reactivity and for safety, I do not take dogs into dog parks or let them off leash ever. I have a patio for smaller dogs (20lbs or less) to go outside but larger dogs are not allowed since it is 5 stories up and has a 4ft wall on 2 sides. I will care for your dog like they’re my own since they deserve the world.
“The trio were so loving on my dog. They are very communicative and sent several updates throughout the day (even though she slept most of the day). I have already scheduled return visits!”

“Shaye is lovely and so attentive to our pup. We have a 1 yr old min dachshund that’s never been left in the care of someone before. Shaye put us at ease and accommodated our special request (no stairs). Shaye is now scheduled to watch our dog every Monday and it’s been great!”

“We were visiting NY for summer vacation with our doggy from NS, Canada and were very worried about sitter for doggy as they’re not allowed in most of the sight seeing places. Angelina took care of Bow even though it was last minute booking and was really friendly in taking care of big dog like Bow. Right from sending pictures of Bow to responding to messages, she’s prompt and kind. I would highly recommend her as a sitter.”

“Victoria was absolutely wonderful with my little Luna! Highly highly communicative, lots of updates and pics throughout the day. Very happy to have a new sitter in the neighborhood!!”

Keysis has been amazing with Estrella! She watched her Monday through Thursday for the past four months, from when she was just 2 months old puppy until now at 6 months. It truly became Estrella's second home. She would get so excited every morning to see Keysis, which says everything about the love and care she received. Keysis is so kind, reliable, and treats every dog like family. I'm so grateful for everything she's done for Estrella! We are going to miss her 💕

Angela did a great job taking care of Bigby for the day! Drop off and pick up was smooth and she followed instructions really well. Would definitely come to Angela to take care of Bigby again soon! She even talked me through how to use the app better, which was very much appreciated.

Sophia took such good care of Udon for the day! She was super attentive, responsive to texts, and sent so many cute photos and updates throughout the day. She was also very flexible with pick up and drop off times as well. Would highly recommend!!! Thanks Sophia

I had a great experience with Antonio. He took excellent care of my two French bulldogs, Leo and Gnocchi. They came back home happy and well care for. Antonio was always very responsive and kept me updated with photos and messages throughout the day. I’d definitely trust him with my dogs again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and reliable.

Katie was wonderful with my dog. She is a pro. I could tell my Puzzle had a very nice day and was feeling safe and cared for. And they went to Central Park! Katie was also super friendly to interact with and accommodating with me. I definitely will be booking her services again soon. Maybe today even;)

Hannah was absolutely amazing with my dog, Lelu! From the moment we met, I could tell she genuinely loves dogs and made Lelu feel comfortable and cared for. She kept me updated throughout the stay, which gave me so much peace of mind. When I picked Lelu up, he looked happy, relaxed, and clearly had a wonderful time. It’s obvious that Hannah goes above and beyond to make sure every dog feels safe and loved. I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter, and I will definitely be booking with Hannah again. Highly, highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring to watch their dog🥺🐾🐾💕

Anna and Oliver were Wonderful with my senior dog. They were very fast to respond when I txted them which I really appreciate. Lila loved spending the day with them. They kept me updated on how Lila settled in, and they made sure she had lots of cuddle time. I highly recommend Anna and Oliver for taking care of your fur baby. I look forward to booking with them again.

Nicole was amazing! She was very quick to respond and very flexible with drop off and pick up times. My dog was so excited to hang out with her and her dog Sydney, he absolutely adored them both. She kept me updated throughout the day and was overall very friendly. Considering how quickly my dog gravitated towards her really made me feel like she actually cares about his well being. A++

Amy did an amazing job looking after our dog Kwin for the day. She was welcoming, attentive, and clearly experienced with dogs. Amy took the time to understand Kwin’s routine and preferences. Throughout the day, Amy kept us updated with photos and messages, so we could see Kwin having a great time playing and relaxing. When we picked her up, Kwin was happy, tired, and clearly well cared for. We recommend Amy to anyone looking for trustworthy doggie daycare.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Manhattan commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
